You don't know my plans for any of these guys. Lanza was a logical pick if you look at who I have already.

The point is that age doesn't mean too much in wrestling. Every single person here knows that. North of 50 then guys start getting really old.

Loan arrangements are part of my operation. I currently have 14. The guys on the full time roster will not be the only guys in each card.

Flair in 89. Tenryu in 90. Hogan in 93. Perfectly great age for a wrestler to be!

A lot of hipster picks I say.

The WWF is pleased to confirm the latest developmental scheme candidate, Bobby Eaton. The youngster will spend at least three months honing his skills on WWF weekly television. Some say the young man has picked up a penchant for rulebreaking, it remains to be seen if this will continue in the WWF.

El Gran Apollo may well be featured on Superstars from time to time, possibly tagging with fellow developmental scheme candidate, Bret Hart.

Tony knows that if things don't work out in Canada, he'll always have a home in the WWF. We wish him all the best of luck for this latest chapter in his storied career.

Titans of Wrestling #49: WWF September to October 1981
I assumed he meant just in-ring, because I don't think the argument for total package can be made. Ted has too many all-time angles in his locker and was demonstrably a better talker -- the leader of stables rather than the member of one, which Greg was at various times and mostly needed a manager. Greg has Wahoo's Leg, what else? Ted was also a much better babyface. I mean I'd rather not have the debate because I think far far far far too much attention is paid to Ted in general. And I feel like a lot of attention has been paid to Greg too over the past year. I mean what's Pete really going to say we haven't heard a million times before? Tito feud was great. Piper feud was great. He was a good Backlund opponent. Wish we had footage of him tagging with Flair. Rah rah. Been there done it, ten times over. Same with Ted. Not trying to put a dampener, but in terms of a show people would actually be interested in, wouldn't two different guys be better? That's just me.

Cheers Jimmy, I'll get on this at some point. Maybe Thursday.

The bizarre thing is though that his tag partners and contemporaries, Bockwinkel and Patterson could still go in their 40s. In the footage I've been watching, Stevens seems done by 73. Like there's not even the shadow of a guy who could go like we're led to believe. I watched that match from the 1960s vs. Al Fredericks and .... really Stevens didn't look that much different from what he did in the early-mid70s tagging with Bock. He remains the biggest mystery to me.

I will not have the debate if its terms are restricted to "in-ring only". Because I've never argued that. I just think career vs. career taking all things into account (character, memorable angles, promo ability, etc. etc.) Ted curb stomps Greg. If it's just in-ring, sure give it to Greg. If it's everything, total package, forget about it. I won't have the debate if it's just in-ring.

dedhemingway takes Brian Adias.- 1983 Tentative Rosters
So Vince had to have him stick around to ritually humilate him every year or so? "Oh but he was in on it! It was a pay day!" - Johnny Sorrow Seems like bullying in the work place to me. "Oh vey! Eughhh. You're looking at it through modern eyes!" Isn't it funny that I can almost predict Johnny's objections in my inner dialogue now. That's what doing over 50 shows with a guy can do to you.- Best Matches from 1976
Oh and just remembered this, if you want to see an incredible blade job see Harley Race vs. Abdullah The Butcher (5/13/76). Don't really know if it's MOTYC, but it's a change of pace and you should probably include at least one Race match. - 1983 Draft Thread
