Did we ever decide on an exact date for the Race/Funk match?

Your Favourite Cage Match Ever
My FAVORITE cage match? Ronnie Garvin vs Ric Flair, 9/25/87. Garvin was one of the very first wrestlers I really liked as a kid and seeing him win the world title in a terrific match makes this my favorite. We'll leave out the part about my Dad asking if I wanted to go to this show and me declining because "nothing ever happens at those shows". Grrrr. I also love the rematch at Starrcade for how they play off the finish of the 9/25 match and for the incredible in-ring audio.

I would agree with this. The web site interface, both old and new, seem to almost be designed to prevent you from finding things.

I don't see any record of Jack ever defending in Houston or against the Spoiler (anywhere).

Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker Lawsuit
Exactly why should I care if Hogan has someone bankrolling his lawsuit? It's not illegal, it's not unethical, and it doesn't change the merits of the suit - so how is it a problem?

Gymnastics in pro wrestling/the Ricochet-Ospreay/Vader drama

This would be the famous match where Greg busts Wahoo's leg!

Referees
Kyohei Wada - the guy so many love. The guy I can't stand. From giving away finishes by pausing for the three count to PHYSICALLY INTERFERING in at least one match by dragging one guy on top of another... ugh. Terrible, just terrible.

Your Favourite Episode of Wrestling Television
It's the rematch.

Your Favourite Episode of Wrestling Television
September 20, 1986 That episode was 8/23/86. I prefer the later one with: R&R & Dusty vs MX & Bubba (bunkhouse) A Landell squash Magnum vs Nikita, 2/3 Falls

All Japan Tag Team Championship Switch in KC-AWA???
FWIW, that tag switch is one of the worst All Japan main events from the 80s and 90s I've ever seen. It's amazingly bad for the talent involved.

Gee Bruce, it's like you're just walking down my request list. I like it!

The self-conscious epic in AJPW vs. The self-conscious epic in 00s WWE / indies
Senseless double selling is something I've been noticing a lot in the stuff I've been watching lately. A guy is in control, hasn't been hit by anything recently, hits a move and they both sell. The double selling should be used during a transition, but it seems like in a lot of cases it's just another shortcut used to create drama. Bob Backlund was the king of that. In control on offense, hits a piledriver, suddenly he's dead from exhaustion. Tons of that in his MSG match against Race.

Yeah, the last few weeks have been very slow, to say the least.

Lots and lots of potential greatness in that batch of matches. Can't wait to see them.

Wrestling's most shameless, most glorious exaggerations
The real number is closer to 93,000 than 78,000.I know that this a longstanding debate, but you seem to say that with a lot of certainty so I'm curious to know if there's any evidence that I missed that proves this. For my statement to be true, the actual attendance would have to be 85,501 or higher. The Lions got 80-81k for football. There's easily 5000 on the floor, thus my very confident statement.

Don't think he ever slammed Andre but did beat him in a handicap match - where Ronnie was the 1 vs Andre's 2.

Definitely Harley vs Andre and the Duggan/Dibiase cage match. Everything else is gravy

Flair broadways that made tape?
Yep, that's the match. GREAT match. Near as I can tell, Flair didn't wrestle Morton at all in 1987, let alone 11 draws in 9 days. They wrestled a bunch of times in 1986 but no stretch of draws like that in 86 either.

Flair broadways that made tape?
There's one with Ricky Morton that made tape.
