Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
I like how there are "jbl" speakers. Of course, this isnt the first time Toyota and the WWF/E have met: UNBEATABLE TRACTION!

RIP Lance Russell
Lance Russell never spoke at us, or even to us, he spoke with us. He commentated like he was sat next to us on the settee, like watching with a friend. The best of all time.

Any members of this forum ever tried out or worked in the ring as wrestlers?
MC in Crewe, evil Welsh manager in Chester, I've done it all on the Wrexham border.

As someone who's MCed in places as exciting as CREWE (!) I think they should ban the raffle. I fucked it up every time.

Who's your Boy?!
Jim Powers. From 1990-1992 I'd have taken him over Hogan if you were sick enough to put a gun to my five year old head. After that, Gene Snitsky. In 2004 and 2005 he was fucking hilarious.

Have you ever cried watching wrestling?
Windham and Rhodes losing to Reed and The Barbarian resulted in much tears when I was 7. And a tantrum resulting in me being sent to bed without tea at 4pm.

Best Squash Match ever?
There's an absolute cracker from WCW in July 92 where The Barbarian knocks the utter fuck out of Marcus Alexander Bagwell. My favourite squash ever.

Jimmy Snuka's murder charge dismissed

Jimmy Snuka's murder charge dismissed
"Later he adopted his wrestling name, Snuka, after the game “Snooker,” which he was an expert in" Hahaha, amazing. Surely a rib you'd think? I'd never heard of Snooker being big in Fiji in the 60s. It wasn't even big in the UK massively until the 70s-and especially 80s.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
Russo buries the hell out of Daniels, and especially his work, on his 2000 WCW timeline so I'm not sure he's that big a fan.

Most Important Matches in History
Neither here nor there, but Bob "Well Charles..." Willis has never had the credit he deserved for his performance in the all important Headingley test in my eyes.

Most Important Matches in History
It's a comedy panel show. A penny to the pound he was fed who'd be his "Feel the Sportsman" by the production team prior to taping. Panel shows are meticulously planned and actually have pretty much no spontaneity whatsoever, despite the "off the cuff" on-air presentation. Adam Buxton and others who have appeared on them have written blogs on it. You're right on Giant Haystacks being very well known in the mainstream, it's a dodgy source though is that. Anecdotally, the elder gents in the pub when they mention the old WoS talents are likely to name Daddy, Stacks, McManus, Les Kellet, Sid Cooper, Catweazle and Jim Breaks.

WWE UK Championship Tournament
Yeah, the WWE RAWK MUSIC era of themes was fucking dire.

Gymnastics in pro wrestling/the Ricochet-Ospreay/Vader drama
I'm just amazed Vader turned up. I've heard he's a right bugger to deal with.

So...I went to an Indy show headlined by Tatanka tonight.....
Was this April 2014? Only Tatanka and Masters were together in Wrexham for a convention, so I'd assume they'd be travelling together.

Lets go through NXT Redemption
I loved it too, it was just so weird and amazing. Yoshi Tatsu and Tyson Kidd feuding over an action figure. Five stars!

Ryback & WWE part ways
I always liked Ryback! Mainly because I just like big bastards.

Your most "Against The Grain" opinion on wrestling
I've been here long enough to know that my fellow announcer, I just wanted to put it in two forums so there's some bass in it. Without Jannetty hes nothing better than solid. And the worst seller amd actor in wrestling history. There's a great and late British comedian called Rik Mayall who wrote and starred in the young ones and Drop Dead Fred and the finest political comedy ever called The New Statesman. He was also in a great sitcom called bottom which owed loads to Waiting For Godot and Samuel Beckett. They would do live tours where he would over act on purpose Enjoy that great two hours. But his over the top action is fuck all compared to Shawn Michaels See what I mean in short 3 minute form?
