Fatu's age doesn't appear to have been made public since I can't find any semi-official source for it. And he refers to himself as a "young cat" in this article from last year: https://www.theringer.com/2019/9/17/20864851/mlw-major-league-wrestling-court-bauer However, the article also mentions that he has six kids, so he has to be getting up there in years. In any event, he re-upped with MLW earlier this year (and given the aforementioned six kids, it must have been a hell of a deal), so he's off the board until 2025 at the earliest.

I think AEW has a nice mix of talent. Sure, there are plenty of flippy workrate guys, but there are also plenty of brawlers and hosses as well as more personality-based workers like Cody and MJF. The only thing they're really missing is guys with technical gimmicks. I'm not sure what free agents are out there who would fit that bill. Maybe Fred Yehi.

I'm pretty sure all the current ROH/Impact/MLW contracts either specifically preclude working for AEW or preclude working for any company with national TV. The only reason guys like MJF and Jimmy Havoc were able to work for AEW while still under contract to MLW is because their contracts predated AEW's existence and only prohibited working for WWE and Impact.

WWE TV 11/16 - 11/22 Bolsonarismo got fucked
The only Carmella match I have any distinct recollection of is her awful title defense against Charlotte at Backlash a couple of years ago. I also recall her defenses against Asuka being really bad, but I remember nothing about them except James Ellsworth returning at the end of the second one. I would hope she's improved since then, but I strongly doubt she's improved enough to be able to carry a match.

Does having repellent personal views mean this guy deserves to be bullied and gaslighted by his employers? Or provide reason to think he's lying about the abuse he received?

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
Dave is now openly comparing Cornette to Trump. Talk about hitting him where he lives. He's obviously far from the first to make the comparison, but it has to sting coming from someone Cornette was close with for so long and surely still respects on some level.

Billy Gunn is deceptively tall. Hiroshi Tanahashi looked like a child next to him when they wrestled on the New Japan show in Long Beach. Regardless, DDP owns Comeback Studios, which has produced videos for AEW, so he seems to be the most likely culprit.

Moxley's real name is Jonathan Good. Regardless, I have no idea how Renee has them saved in her contacts, so I'll concede the point.

Gonna be honest, that's a pretty strange mistake to make. Neither their ring names nor their shoot names are even remotely similar, so I'm not sure how you can text one while meaning to text the other.

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
Cornette speculated that Dave must have sent HOF ballots to reporters he knew would vote for Kenny Omega because that's the only way he can imagine Omega being voted in. Also, Dave on the F4W board called Cornette out for not really pushing back against Brian Last complaining about Larry Matysik being on the ballot and Chris Benoit not being recalled when he voted for Matysik year after year and was one of the biggest advocates of retaining Benoit.

Mandy might be legitimately injured. She came down awkwardly when Nia threw her out of the ring last week and had to be attended to by medical personnel. Yeah, I know. An injury involving Nia Jax. Stop the presses.

Wuertz has been showing his whole ass all year. Not only is he a full-on MAGA smooth brain, he quite possibly handed Candy Cartwright a smoking gun in her lawsuit against Riddle and WWE. Speaking of smooth brains, Nia had better hope God made her immune system stronger than her knees.

WWE TV 11/09 - 11/15 Luis Arce is Bolivia's president-elected!
The economics are different now from when Lance was in WWE. According to the latest Observer, sales on WWE Shop have skyrocketed to the point where total merch sales are virtually identical to what they were pre-COVID. And house shows have been an overall money loser for a while now, so I'd be willing to bet that for most wrestlers, the lack of money from live gates is balanced out by fewer road expenses. But if they are taking a financial hit from no house shows, that would explain why someone like Vega is willing to walk since the Observer is also reporting that WWE is telling talent the old way of touring won't be coming back even post-COVID.

WWE TV 11/09 - 11/15 Luis Arce is Bolivia's president-elected!
SAG involvement could very well be a game-changer. Unlike most wrestlers, their pockets are deep enough to go through protracted litigation without being ruined financially, which takes away WWE's trump card of bleeding the other side dry by dragging things out. And Linda surely did her husband no favors by jumping on the Stop the Steal crazy train. Vince could be in for a long 2021.

Knowing this company, we can expect Aleister Black to start getting put through tables every week.

My guess is they tried to come after her for her OnlyFans account and she told them to stick it. At least somebody (formerly) in this company has a backbone. Good for her.

2020 Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame
For what it's worth, I've seen speculation that Kota Ibushi's appearance works against him in HOF voting. Because he looks so young, he's perceived as a young up-and-comer rather than a guy in his late 30s who's been a main event star for years.

2020 Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame
It's finally out. The inductees: Medico Asesino Karloff Lagarde Kenny Omega Jun Akiyama Dan Koloff Kazuchika Okada debuts on the ballot next year, and he's obviously a slam-dunk pick. Also on the ballot for the first time: Nikki Bella. In fairness, she's probably a stronger candidate than Big Daddy.

2020 Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame
A couple of weeks ago, he said that more people voted for Japanese candidates than ever before. That has me pessimistic about the prospects for Taue and Akiyama since more people voting makes it harder to the get the necessary percentage of votes. Also, he said last week that the HOF issue would have bios of two historical figures that most today know little about. That leads me to believe that at least two of the historical performers got in. Take your guess as to which ones.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Hager's not that much of a shooter. All of his opponents in Bellator have been tomato cans, and he barely survived his last fight. I mean, he's much better than CM Punk, but he'd get slaughtered by any decent heavyweight. And he had great matches with Christian in ECW, so he's at least carryable. As an aside, it seems like all the guys who had beef with Cena in WWE (Hager, Tyler Reks, Alex Riley) turned out to be MAGA chuds. John Cena confirmed for antifa.

I take it there was nothing that actually shifted the balance of power in wrestling?

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
After reviewing Young Bucks/FTR, Cornette explains how he would have booked the match. He would have FTR spend the match "not cooperating" with the Bucks and then "double-cross" them on the finish by putting one of them in a small package and not allowing him to kick out. The next day, they would announce on the Internet that they're holding the belts hostage until they get a raise. His hatred of AEW has turned him into Vince Russo.

And they're down again. The chances of any new updates are basically zero even if they do go back up, so we might as well just stick to the archived versions.
