  1. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Vince. The way WWE has conducted itself would make a lot more sense if that was the case.
  2. John Cena is a BTS fan. In fact, his $1 million donation to Black Lives Matter was to match a donation made by the group and their label.
  3. According to PWInsider, Drake Maverick didn't know he would be brought back until the day of the cruiserweight tournament final taping. In fact, he filed trademark applications for "Spud" and "Rockstar Spud" that very day. So if the whole thing was a work, it was a needlessly elaborate one.
  4. For what it's worth, when Bruce Prichard was with MLW, people who worked there noted that Cornette was way more in touch with modern wrestling and relating to modern wrestlers than Prichard was.
  5. Fink no doubt rolling in his grave.
  6. Oh, boy. A cinematic technical wrestling match. Are you excited yet?
  7. So instead of the babyface champion heroically overcoming the odds, you have the heel challengers screw themselves. What kind of dumbass booking is this?
  8. Asuka is so blatantly wrestling for two. Nia is worthless.
  9. If nothing else, Edge/Orton will prove instructive as to what the company thinks a great wrestling match looks like. It also ensures that this show will be remembered far more than a typical throwaway B-PPV. Like, off the top of your head, can you name a single thing that happened at Stomping Grounds?
  10. I'm sure he was thinking in terms of actual wrestling angles and not toilet humor segments. And like you said, it was predicated in the idea of fan turnover. Given the median age of WWE's viewers and their inability to create new stars, there can't be too many people watching now who weren't watching in 2006.
  11. My first top three for 2020 with a new #1.
  12. Absolutely. I just watched it, and it's my current MOTY.
  13. They did this exact angle 14 years ago with Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon. They even reused the "better to be pissed off than pissed on" line. The writing staff must be really burned out if they have to recycle scatological humor.
  14. That stood out to me in a negative way as well, like if he had only dedicated one paragraph to the death of Nancy Argentino in his Snuka bio. And Walker either was convicted of or pleaded guilty to a lesser offense and had to register as a sex offender, so it was more than just an accusation.
  15. Too bad Mauro wasn't on commentary to help fans appreciate the match's brilliance.
  16. Prichard has been fired by Vince multiple times in the past, so there's no reason to think it won't happen again when things go south. And as has been noted, the reward for keeping his job is constantly being at the beck and call of a micromanaging workaholic. When it comes to working for Vince, the only winning move is not to play.
  17. I thought the Summerslam match was a huge disappointment with a largely dead crowd. Certainly not as good as the match the two had in 2010 at Night of Champions. And then Brie and Maryse got involved and things went completely off the rails.
  18. The 2018 feud that killed Bryan's heat to the point where they had to turn him heel to salvage him.
  19. The problem with this logic is that she wasn't just losing meaningless "regular season" matches. Like, it's one thing to get pinned in a tag match and then win at the PPV. But she was losing actual title matches on Raw a good amount of the time.
  20. It's the latest season of the show formerly known as Real World/Road Rules Challenge (the show where Miz first made his name).
  21. Removing Heyman from creative and replacing him with Prichard has to be the ultimate monkey's paw deal.
  22. He also had a really dope match with Giant Bernard in 2006.
  23. Tanahashi absolutely has to be in the conversation unless you're completely allergic to modern New Japan. Strongly disagree with WWE being a poor environment for Bryan. In fact, I think he's been far better in WWE than he was in ROH. Most of his indy work leaves me rather cold, truth be told.
