WWE TV 09/30 - 10/6 Posting quickly to avoid politics-inspired subtitles
I'm sure the last thing Finn Balor wants is to be joined at the hip to Bray Wyatt even more. Seriously, what did he do to deserve being the one who has to get Wyatt's shitty gimmicks over? First Sister Abigail, now The Fiend. Poor guy can't catch a break.

Roman is a star on Smackdown, the A show. The Fiend is beneath him.

Current Lucha Talk
That's why I don't understand the logic behind these cage matches. Isn't taking another luchador's hair a huge honor? Shouldn't they all be doing everything they can to stay in the cage?

What's the story here? Is it just a botch? It would have had to go through several channels to make it on the air, so that would indicate an impressive level of incompetence if that was the case. Maybe John Cena did something to piss them off and they don't want him to share the fake world title record anymore.

WWE TV 09/23 - 09/29 Necropolitics are in vogue
I remember a few years ago when people on this board were calling the Charlotte/Sasha HIAC match one of the greatest matches in WWE history. Not to mention all the talk last year about Becky Lynch being the next Stone Cold. I honestly think a lot of the fans overrate the women for political reasons. They're so desperate to be on the "right side of history" that they try to will the women's division into being epochal all-time great stuff even when it clearly isn't.

Rush wins the ROH title
Paco Alonso himself owned the Los Ingobernables trademark, in the US at least. It's still listed under his name in the USPTO trademark database, so I don't know who holds it now. I would guess either CMLL or Sofia. Speaking of Paco, it's pretty striking how quickly CMLL turned into a clown show after he died. All the folks who insisted that the company was successful despite him rather than because of him aren't looking too good right now.

Speaking of FOX: I would love nothing more than for some particularly juicy Ukraine-related breaking news to drop on Tuesday morning and Stephanie being forced to comment on it.

With his size and wrestling style, I'd be surprised if Keith Lee lasted into his 40s.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Royal Rumble] Bret & Owen Hart vs The Quebecers
This is another pretty famous match that I saw for the first time only recently, and I was actually pretty shocked at how poorly executed the angle was. It started when Johnny Polo pulled down the middle rope for some reason instead of the top one, forcing Bret to do a tope to nowhere rather than being low-bridged. Once they got back in the ring, there was never a point when Bret had a clear shot to tag out. His best opportunity was after the Quebecers missed an assisted senton, but he was still on the opposite side of the ring. McMahon and DiBiase even asked why he didn't just tag while Jacques was holding him by the ankle and preventing him from moving. And of course, the referee stoppage came way too soon. As for the actual turn, it probably would have worked better if Owen had feigned concern for Bret and helped him up before kicking his leg out of his leg rather than telegraphing it by pitching a fit in the ring.

Kenny Omega: "If [NXT] guys were in the same show as me, they'd be in the dark match. They'd be in the opening match of my main event match."
At this point, I hope both companies go out of business.

I have no idea how a wrestling company can be so incompetent at the fundamentals of pro wrestling. It's almost TNA-esque, which is actually something I've been thinking about for a while. The real nosedive in the quality of the product seems to have coincided with hiring of the likes of Jeff Jarrett and Abyss. Is it really all that surprising that having TNA veterans backstage would lead to TNA-like results?
