  1. Did the six sides contribute anything positive to the in-ring product? It felt like a case of being different just for the sake of being different.
  2. The Eugene heel turn was wretched. The gimmick as a whole was pretty tasteless, but trying to turn him into a bad guy made it even worse. Am I really supposed to boo a mentally handicapped man who wants people to stop laughing at him? The only way it could have possibly worked is if he had revealed he was faking it the whole time.
  3. Pretty much anything with Aja Kong is worth checking out, as is any interpromotional match with Shinobu Kandori.
  4. I wonder if Vince thinks that kicking out of the Khallas is the one thing Roman hasn't done yet that would get him over.
  5. Did somebody seriously propose in the middle of a match? What an asshole.
  6. Can't say I'll miss it. Too bad my magnum opus elaborating on the differences between neoliberalism and conservatism will never see the light of day now, though.
  7. I'd be thrilled if I never saw another shoulder-first-into-the-ringpost spot for the rest of my life.
  8. Of all the guys they have, Rollins comes closest to checking all the boxes. He's over, relatively young and healthy, and has matches the crowd won't shit all over. I'm worried that the Lesnar and Joe matches represent Roman's future: heels intentionally working as boring as possible to keep them from being cheered over him.
  9. As much as it pains me to say it, Rollins is the one with the most ace potential. Braun is more suited for an Andre/Undertaker-esque final boss role.
  10. WWE's treatment of Cena the past few years has been baffling on both sides. I can't think of any other time when a promotion phased out their top guy while he still had plenty of juice left and he willingly went along with it.
  11. The only source I've seen for Alexa's injury is WWE, so it could be a work. But Nia does have a history of injuring people, so I wouldn't count on it. Stupid clumsy oaf can't do anything right.
  12. My specific Joe recommendations would be vs. AJ at Turning Point 2005 and vs. Daniels at Final Resolution 2006. The 2002 Low Ki match isn't too shabby either.
  13. They have to pull the plug on Reigns now, right? Even the dullest WWE mark could see that he's completely unsalvageable at this point.
  14. Looks like "Rusev Day" is the new "CM Punk."
  15. I feel like Joe is going heavy on the chinlocks to keep the crowd from getting behind him too much.
  16. He got plenty of boos. WWE mutes the crowds when he comes out.
  17. This is actually a good sign for Braun. Vince has a history of pushing his top guys as Randian supermen whose every actions are inherently good simply by virtue of being the top guy.
  18. I don't think Owens was the legal man.
  19. Fantastic match. Nakamura has officially redeemed himself. Even the shitty ending was good in that in had me wanting to see a rematch rather than feeling like I had been ripped off.
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if Carmella got the Jinder Mahal drop-the-title-on-Smackdown treatment after that.
  21. She was pathetic on offense, which is especially egregious when you're supposed to be a monster. She had nothing to offer other than a million biels. It was like when Ezekiel Jackson would do nothing but bodyslams. I think the biels all make for great visuals, she had several avalanches and a big lariat, and she didn't have more offense as she was using her bigger moves to set up Bliss offense. The missed somersault senton and banzai drop, and fighting over the middle rope samoan drop, all gave Bliss actual realistic ways to stay in the match. If Bliss took more monster offense, it wouldn't have been a very interesting match. I'm not impressed by WWE transitions because they're pretty much all laid out by agents. If all that's asked of you is to keep things interesting for the 20% of the time you're in control and you can't do that, you're clearly not much of a worker. Even the crowd saw through her.

  23. I actually enjoyed Orton's performance in that match. The Rusev Day chants made me laugh, though.
  24. Fantastic troll job by WWE there. Getting the crowd pumped up with that Joe promo and then bringing out Randy Orton.
