Isn't Karen a heel, though?

Matt Hardy fired by TNA after DWI arrest
A fan? Jeff had to get his hookup from a fan? Has he really fallen so low that he couldn't find a mark doctor to service him?

HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
Didn't they say the same thing about Daniel Bryan's release?

Guys you "should" like but don't?
Speaking of guys with cowboy gimmicks, I've always been baffled by the praise for JBL's in-ring work. His best straight wrestling match was against Eddy at Judgment Day, and even that wasn't very good. Once he got the belt, all his title defenses were either overbooked messes or smoke-and-mirrors gimmick matches. I liked his I Quit match with Cena, but that's it.

Talkin' Stone Cold Violence Against Women Paranoid Blues
I don't get offended by this stuff often I guess but this one sticks out. Torrie laughing through all of it made it even more creepy and "too real" for some reason I thought that was the reason for it. Torrie was corpsing, so they had to send for the man.

HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
But that's kind of a problem too. Yes, the anonymous GM was dumb as hell, but if you're going to run a storyline for over a year, you might as well have it lead to something. For that matter, why does Teddy Long get to keep his job? It's yet another example of those who try to follow closely being punished by having their intelligence insulted.

HHH taking over from Vince on RAW
So...anybody still want to defend this turkey?

Guys you "should" like but don't?
I'm going to add Finlay to my list. He tends to be great at the little things, but he can't put them together to create a match I find compelling. The whole is less than the sum of its parts. Come to think of it, Regal and Benoit are the same way. I guess wrestlers from Commonwealth countries known for technical excellence and stiff strikes don't really do it for me.

Guys you "should" like but don't?
By this, I mean wrestlers you think you'd enjoy based on your established preferences but can't really get into. Take me, for example. Based on what I know I like, I thought that Riki Choshu and Shinya Hashimoto would be right up my alley. But their work doesn't do much for me. There are certain elements I really like, but as an overall package, the souffle just doesn't rise. Anyone else?

I think it's high time for a PWO sleaze thread.

The poor sportsmanship of Hulk Hogan
I wouldn't classify Hogan and Austin as bullies. True bullies are cowards; they pick on those lower than them on a food chain but back away from even a hint of a fair fight. Say what you want about Hogan and Austin, but they weren't cowards (other than the whole ducking Andre thing, I guess). Their behavior was more akin to Superdickery.

I don't think Watts' homophobia is biblically rooted. After all, this is the same guy who said "Why should I have to hire a fucking fag if I don't like fags?" in his infamous Torch interview. If he changed his views after being born again, it was a lateral movement at best.

Best worker aged 45+ NOT called Ric Flair or Terry Funk?

Of course, there's only one proper response to this. http://www.theonion.com/articles/why-do-al...-my-cock,10861/

I think I'd put Tenryu in his fifties over Flair in his forties.

What was WCW's "big show"?
WrestleMania has been either the beginning or middle part for a lot of feuds in recent years too. Backlash was all about tying up loose ends from Wrestlemania, which is why it was usually one of the WWE's better PPVs every year. This is also why having Extreme Rules in April is stupid. Having to shoehorn in some "extreme" stipulation only detracts from the focus on post-WM score-settling.

I was thinking recently about when someone stops selling a leg or whatever and the announcers say something like "How's he even able to stand?" Is it good that they're trying to account for what's happening in the ring or bad that they're drawing attention to a hole in the story? Jingus, you've done some announcing, right? How did you deal with this?

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
http://wrestling.insidepulse.com/2011/08/2...tling-08-25-11/ Impact is about as low-hanging a fruit as you can get, and SKeith can't even bash it properly. Check out the third comment.

Ric Flair (sigh)
Someone should ask Ric if he remembers grinding his feet on Eddie Murphy's couch. Jake Roberts is actually an interesting case given his own relationship with his father. Grizzly Smith was an absentee alcoholic who never smartened up his kids and made them think his in-ring injuries were real. And his taste in girls made Jerry Lawler look like the MILF Hunter.

When Big men get squashed
I can buy Rey more as someone who can beat you in a wrestling match. I can buy Snitsky more as someone who can kick your ass. Of course, that could be just the difference in how the two men are booked. Has Rey ever convincingly beaten anyone? And Taz certainly had more of a badass aura than, say, Giant Baba.

Have any of you tried "what"ing someone in real life? It usually results in people no longer talking to you.

Here's SKeith on the Brock/Taker HIAC: I kind of have a soft spot for him, though. I first became aware of the IWC after reading Wrestling's One Ring Circus at Borders.
