  1. At least he didn't try to claim the name change was his idea.
  2. I mean, Fedor basically no-sold getting dumped on his head by Randleman, so it's not about realism. If anything, the opposite is true. The idea behind selling is to exaggerate the impact of moves to generate drama and reduce the physical toll.
  3. They'd better be turning heel if they're going to continue in this vein because this shit is cringe as hell. Sammy's better off as a heel anyway. Not only does he have the most punchable face in wrestling since Yoji Anjo, he just radiates douchebag energy.
  4. All of you who tried to claim Vickie was a good promo, I accept your apology.
  5. I was never a regular ROH watcher, but knowing what the 2000s indies were like, I'm sure there was plenty of commentary that sounded bad at the time and sounds even worse today. Smart move on Gabe's part.
  6. Wait, did Sammy really say he jizzed on the belt?
  7. You love to see it: Guess he'll have to go back to controlling his narrative.
  8. The only interesting WWE storyline is finally going to be paid off, so mark your calendars.
  9. WCW wrestlers were once on Politically Incorrect. Note how incredulous Maher is at the idea that chair shots actually hurt. There's a lesson to be drawn there about toning it down in the ring. To the public as a whole, wrestling being fake means everything about it must be fake. After all, what kind of absolute morons would kill themselves in a fake fight?
  10. Remember that one year when Mania was nothing but multi-man matches and it sucked and just about everyone hated it?
  11. Jacobs has been Q-pilled for quite some time. Per the contributions database, other notable contributors to Drake's campaign include Jessica Barnes (Marty Jannetty's wife), Paula Sopp (Billy Gunn's wife), Chad Lail (Jaxson Ryker), and Terry Taylor. It should come as no surprise that the Taylor Made Man is on board since evidence of him being a huge racist that emerged during discovery in the WCW racial discrimination lawsuit was a big part of the reason the wrestlers who sued WCW made out like bandits.
  12. The main instances of women's wrestling drawing in female fans are 70s/80s AJW and Total Divas/Bellas. In both cases, it wasn't workrate that drew them in but an emotional connection with the performers. Thunder Rosa may be over, but there's no real reason for women specifically to care about her.
  13. Based on comments on the F4W board, the opposite is true. They apparently consider two hours an outrageous amount of time to travel for a sports or entertainment event. I guess it's true what they say: Americans think 100 years is a long time and Europeans think 100 miles is a long distance.
  14. Interesting choice since Cardiff seems to be a bit of a distance from the UK's major population centers. I guess we'll see how popular WWE still is in the country. What's Mason Ryan up to these days?
  15. Maybe it's just that Britt isn't very good. Time for Jade Cargill to take over her entourage like Rock kicking Faarooq out of the Nation of Domination.
  16. You know what, I'd actually order one of their shows if they promised to have everyone come out to Headstrong.
  17. I don't know how it works in Florida, but on the federal level, you have to fill out a form listing your address, occupation, and employer when making a campaign contribution. If Busick isn't an idiot (or a liar), Drake is likely violating campaign finance law. By the way, other contributors to his campaign include Matt Riddle, Killer Kross, Elias, Bobby Fish, and Jimmy Jacobs. What a cesspool the 2000s indies turned out to be. https://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/riddle-karrion-kross-more-donate-to-qanon-referee-drake-wuertzs-political-campaign
  18. And their first event took place at a bar that also featured an Uncle Kracker cover band. Seriously.
  19. The Regal TIJ episode dropped. If anything, the Observer understated the severity of his health issues. By all rights, he should be dead or in a wheelchair several times over. Suffering amnesia and permanent partial vision loss after falling on an escalator is among the very least of his issues.
  20. For the record, WCW's gate record is held by the Fingerpoke of Doom Nitro, which drew $930,735. The 12/21/98 Nitro in St. Louis had a good shot at breaking the $1 million mark, but a snowstorm the day of the show killed the walk-up. But the bottom line is that WCW in the Nitro era was more concerned with TV ratings than paid attendance. After all, it ran multiple shows in Sturgis that drew a $0 gate.
  21. He's just following in the footsteps of Sara Undertaker. As a side note, that means in WWE canon, Taker's first name is The.
  22. That's par for the course in America. Major sporting events like the Super Bowl and music festivals like Coachella use volunteers as well. The real difference is that those other events usually provide decent perks in exchange. WWE doesn't even give you tickets to Raw, just the opportunity to win some in a raffle. And a hat. Fuck outta here.
  23. I was under the impression she was brought in mainly to be a player-coach. Kenny Omega was the one mainly responsible for handling the women's division and the joshi women in particular, so his absence probably makes things rougher than they would be otherwise.
