Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
I had a dream last night that bubba @KawadaSmile died and it was revealed that he had previously worked as a heel manager whose gimmick was claiming to have the world's best hair. Do with that whatever you like.

RIP Scott Hall
Vince thinking Razor Ramon was a genius original creation because he had never heard of Scarface is one of my all-time favorite wrestling stories. And yes, I agree that Hall's career is another point in favor of the argument that pro wrestling charisma is a teachable skill and not necessarily something you either have or don't. By the way, the Kliq tag from Action Zone is still the best tag match in company history and a strong contender for best-ever US tag.

Still hanging in there after three heart attacks, especially with the life he's led, is like giving Death the "ooh, I'm so scared" fingers.

AEW - The story so far
Darby Allin vs. Brian Cage from the 1/13/21 Dynamite is well worth going out of your way to see. Darby/PAC on 1/15/20 is dope as well.

WWE TV 03/07 - 03/13 Why is OG Dragon Ball so much better than Dragon Ball Z?
I saw a few people on Twitter say that Ridge grabbed E too high, didn't pop his hips enough, and released him too early. You can't rely on brute force when you're suplexing someone the size of Big E. Your technique has to be flawless. Ridge dumped Johnny Gargano on his head in NXT as well.

He shouldn't be. No responsible company would have put him in that position in the first place. Really though, WWE and AEW both need to tone it down with the needlessly risky spots. The business is a work. On a lighter note, I don't know if this was intentional or not, but it made me laugh way more than it probably should have. I hope Big E sees it and gets as much a kick out of it as I did.

Who the fuck booked a guy who's basically a rookie to do an overhead suplex on the floor in a random-ass Smackdown match

Billy Gunn was never even remotely thought of as a giant in WWE, but he dwarfs almost everyone in AEW.

Best Midcard Feuds Post-2000
Eddie/Rey in 2005, even if it culminated in perhaps the most absurd stipulation in wrestling history.

AEW TV March 9/11 - Post Revolution
According to the latest Observer, Regal's health issues are far worse than have been let on. He discussed them in an interview he recorded for Talk is Jericho that gets released next week.

AEW TV March 9/11 - Post Revolution
The worst has to be YOSHI-HASHI busting himself open when he tripped and fell running in for the save after Gedo turned on Okada.

AEW TV March 9/11 - Post Revolution
How about we just let it play out and see where it goes? I think AEW has more than earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to tying up loose ends. This is a company that booked Jay White solely because signing Keith Lee didn't meet the technical definition of Forbidden Door.

All Elite Wrestling
The secondary belt is a concept that has outlived its usefulness. They made sense in the territory era as a way for determining a promotion's number one contender for the NWA title and give the wrestlers something to feud over when the world champion wasn't around. They also arguably made sense in an earlier time of national promotions as a way of giving viewers title matches in the days when the world champ hardly ever wrestled on TV. Neither rationale is compelling today. An undercard feud doesn't need a belt to be meaningful, and there's no clear rationale for why someone would choose to go after the TNT or TBS title rather than the men's or women's world titles. They only really exist because that's just the way it's always been done.

Excalibur literally explained what Punk's entrance meant while he was walking down the ramp. If you're too busy tweeting to pay attention to the show you paid to watch, that's on you.

The closest analogy is probably Cena coming out as the Doctor of Thuganomics against Elias at Mania a few years ago.

Sting is already in the Observer Hall.

WWE Hall of *bell tolls* Fame 2022
By all accounts, he cared a great deal. He was lobbying heavily both publicly and privately to be inducted while he was still alive. So his induction will be bittersweet for me even if is well-deserved and long overdue.

Probably best to downplay that aspect of him after Moxley had to go to rehab.

AEW Revolution 2022
I doubt the trios match will be a cooldown. At the very least, there should be some kind of reasonably hot angle to set the table for the dissolution of the AHFO and an eventual Hardys/Private Party feud. I don't think AEW believes in cooling the audience off before the main event anyway. Looking at their previous PPVs, the only semi-main I think could reasonably be called a cooldown match was Wight/Marshall at All Out 2021. I really want to order this, but work has me wiped out lately and there's a good chance I'll be in bed well before the show goes off the air. I think I'll most likely end up ordering it after the fact. Enjoy the show, everyone.

The All Things Cody Thread
The apparent conclusion is that Vince doesn't care about changing the perception that AEW is the place talent wants to be. Look at it from his perspective. The money from the TV networks and the Saudis is still pouring in, and he's surrounded by yes men who tell him everything's great and get fired if they question him. Most people in that position wouldn't care about optics either. And if you take that away, Cody had zero leverage once his AEW deal expired.

That's Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss (the repackaged versions of Baron Corbin and Riddick Moss, respectively). The idea is that they're heels because they tell shitty jokes and then laugh hysterically. The feud with Drew started in December after they stole his sword. I'm serious.

Edge's acting ability!
I decided this was worth a bump after the latest Observer praised Edge's acting in the segment on Raw where he turned heel. And I quote: "The way this segment was laid out and Edge’s performance were tremendous. His acting ability and timing are incredible" In fairness, he was fine before he started with the ridiculous Why Am I So Violent faces. Also, being back on the road has totally owned him. He looks like he's aged about 20 years since returning.

What a tragedy for the Russian people that they're going to miss out on this. If they only knew what they were missing, there'd probably be enough popular outrage to topple Putin.
