  1. It's basically impossible to do business with Russia right now because of sanctions, so it's more likely they cut Russia off because they weren't getting paid and are trying to pass it off as a decision based on morality.

I am concerned that the ROH purchase is going to accelerate the timetable for burnout on Tony's part. It doesn't seem likely that he'll be doing much delegating if he personally owns the company, and when you add that to his responsibilities with the Jaguars/Fulham/AEW, that probably isn't sustainable for very long.
  3. That does seem like the inevitable endgame.

It's believed that the announcement is going to be a business deal rather than a talent acquisition. I've seen speculation that they've acquired ROH or made a deal with a streaming service like HBO Max. It's also been confirmed that Hangman/Cole will go on last at Revolution. Tony said that no one has had better matches than Hangman since winning the title, so he clearly has faith in the champ's ability to follow the rest of the card.
  5. This just keeps getting better and better.
  6. Is that about why she wasn't on Raw? If I had to guess, I'd say it was because it was in Columbus and they didn't want her to get a hometown pop.
  7. What was he even trying to do? It looks like he dove through a pane of glass just for the hell of it.
  8. The only question that matters.
  9. Can he really be considered overrated if no one thinks he's any good? Great character, sure, but never highly regarded from an in-ring standpoint. The only time I would say he was overrated in that respect was when he was in Team Hell No and people who should have known better would insist he had genuinely improved as a worker and wasn't simply being protected and hidden by the tag team format. Then the team broke up and lo and behold, he went right back to sucking. Speaking of former Kane tag teams, Waltman once again demonstrates that he's by far the coolest member of DX.
  10. The smartest man in wrestling has once again graced us with his wisdom.
  11. Maybe some GWF alumni could fit the bill. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_former_Global_Wrestling_Federation_personnel Skandor Akbar would be a good pick for the legacy wing, but I don't know beyond that. The main guys I associate with the GWF are Jerry Lynn and Sean Waltman, but Lynn works for AEW and inducting Waltman for the third time seems like overkill.
  12. Big Boss Man was legitimately a former corrections officer in Cobb County, Georgia.
  13. The real difference between conviction and acquittal was Linda McMahon being tipped off that Dr. Zahorian was under federal investigation. Recall that he was originally the ringside physician appointed by the Pennsylvania state athletic commission. In 1989, the law changed so that the ring doctor was to be hired by the promotion rather than appointed by the commission. The WWF had planned to continue using him in that role, but they cut ties with him after they got the tip that he was hot. Even with the prosecution's incompetence and the defense's witness tampering, conspiracy to distribute likely would have been an open-and-shut case if there had been a known steroid dealer on the WWF payroll
  14. I was hoping NXT 2.0 would mean the end of all that combine shit.
  15. They wanted to keep him from controlling his narrative.
  16. The world title match doesn't need to be the most heated on the card to main event. In fact, it could be argued that the opposite should be the case. When promoters booked Funk/Brisco title matches, they would generally load the card up with wild angles and bloody brawls so that a serious athletic struggle in the main event would put the world title above all the nonsense.
  17. Negotiations with Newsmax and OAN must have fallen through.
  18. I don't know. I think WWE is the only company that would be willing to go in that direction, and you figure they would have learned their lesson after Lana vaguely alluding to that Malaysian plane that got shot down by a Russian missile got the wrong kind of heat.
  19. If you haven't heard about Control Your Narrative, it's a new wrestling company that is an outgrowth of EC3's chud lifestyle brand of the same name. Just look at this: Needless to say, Aries should fit right in.
  20. I'm convinced the whole born-again thing was mainly a way for Shawn to get out of doing jobs. He said that he couldn't go heel because Jesus wouldn't let him or some other such nonsense. I can only think of one program during his comeback where he never went over at any point (vs. Hogan), and look how he handled that. Even HHH put Batista over decisively.
  21. Even if he wanted to work another match, it's doubtful the movie studios and insurance companies would let him. It cost them millions when the injury he sustained during the second Cena match caused filming of the Hercules movie to be delayed.
  22. Having one of your top babyfaces try to behead someone (in Saudi Arabia, no less) is certainly a choice.
  23. I've seen it suggested that Tony would benefit from a Johnny Ace/Motoko Baba type who could play bad cop when need be.
