Charlotte going for a pin on an opponent who was lying face-down was worse than anything Toni did. We've created a generation of wrestlers who are so focused on hooking the leg that they've forgotten the goal is to pin the opponent's shoulders to the mat.

Hook right now reminds me of Tay Conti when she was in NXT: definitely a work in progress, but the potential is clearly there. The difference is that he's training at a school where they actually teach pro wrestling and don't just do forward rolls all day, so it shouldn't take years for him to reach his potential.

I don't think that's the case. According to the Observer, they gave him a strong offer and he turned it down. He's going to take some time off and weigh his options after the birth of his child. WWE seems to think he'll be back, which is why he was written off in a way that opens the door for a return. Still, it says a lot that he would turn down a contract and place himself on the open market when he has a kid on the way.

What all the WM25 shocked face copycats seem to overlook is that finishers were still heavily protected in WWE at that point and no finisher was more protected than the tombstone. In that context, a shocked reaction to a kickout was warranted. These days, everybody kicks out of everything. If anything, a shocked face should come after a finisher keeps someone down for a three-count.

Wrestlers who already have working visas can still fly in, so it won't affect anyone currently booked for WK and beyond. It's just that it's become pretty much impossible to obtain new visas, so we won't be seeing anyone new any time soon.

Hansen wasn't just dangerous to his opponents. He also regularly put the fans in danger with his crowd brawling and throwing of chairs. On the same show where he broke Kobashi's arm with a bullrope, he knocked over an old lady in the stands on the way to the ring. In his book, he readily admits that a lot of what he did back then wouldn't fly today because of the threat of lawsuits. He also said that the only time Baba ever yelled at him was when he threw chairs into the crowd even after being told to stop. What it really boils down to is that it was a different world back then and Hansen's actions weren't as far outside the bounds of acceptable behavior as Nia's today. Also, being reckless in the ring is a lot easier to overlook when you're responsible for some of the greatest matches of all time. Needless to say, Nia's output on that front isn't nearly as impressive. The most her defenders can point to is a couple of decent matches with Ronda Rousey, who it was basically impossible to have bad matches with.

I don't want to see Nia within a million miles of AEW. First of all, she's a terrible power wrestler. Her inability to lift up even much smaller opponents is a big part of why she's so unsafe. How many times did she dump Asuka and Kairi on their heads while going for routine power moves? I shudder to think what she'd do to Nyla. Even setting aside the safety issues, I have zero confidence that she'd do the job professionally. Remember when she put Lana through tables week after week and then when Lana finally got payback, she turned it into a joke with the "my hole" comment? She has no respect for her craft and is an anti-vax loon to boot. Hard pass from me.
