  1. It's a long con troll job, making us all go blind trying to read his posts ☺
  2. Just starting this now, but Lassartesse really caught my attention with his heel charisma during the intros and I was coming here to ask if anyone knew who that wrestler was
  3. For a complete match it must be. That's very cool. Is this something new to surface or has it been out there before?
  4. The Rio thing is interesting because that's also where in kayfabe Buddy Rogers beat Argentina Rocca for the first WWWF title in 63. Not sure if that was the official story before the IC tournament or retconned later to match up
  5. He was pretty much relegated to only commentating over the replays. Not sure if he was told not to speak during the body of the match or not
  6. Ricky Jackson replied to Woof's topic in WWE
Just some great old fashioned pro wrestling right there folks
  7. Episode 28 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-28 September 18, 1982 (WCCW 39) The post-August Star Wars blahs continue for WCCW. The Sportatorium is half-empty, but those that are there are bat shit crazy wrestling fans. Still, not a lot to really be excited about watching from your sofa in 2018. The boys find humor in it all (mostly from Jay Saldi's commentary), plus the main event is...well...not a great match, but it's a fascinating one, that's for sure. World Cast: Hosted as always by controversial wrestling journalist Pete Schirmacher!
  8. Meltzer wrote in the daily update that Styles was hurt (not sure when) and they covered for it by running an injury angle at the last MSG show
  9. Two interesting notes only a couple weeks before Mania... - Styles is hurt, severity unknown - Bryan may be wrestling Mania, depending on being medically cleared by WWE
  10. Damn it Kawada. Disregard

  12. I know Piper claimed Albano and Blassie didn't like him, or at least ribbed him by putting toilet paper in his bagpipes. Other than that I can't recall what the deal was. He definitely came off as a star and was over in Hamburg
  13. Strongbow/Garea vs Yukon Lumberjacks from 7/15/78 ends with a pretty fun wild brawl outside the ring with the fans getting out of their seats and surrounding the action like a fight at school or in a prison yard
  14. Thanks man. This show definitely required a bit more planning than a typical pod. If I had more free time to devote to this series I could pump them out more often. As it is, once every three months is about the most I can promise right now
  15. Oooh...those 79 matches sound interesting, especially the Baron and Bad News team (that sounds like the title of a 70s TV show actually)
  16. Rumour is they're actually one and the same 😉
  17. Backlund vs Strong Kobayashi from 6/3/78 is pretty good, almost house show quality good. Piper's match with Estrada from 8/11/79 is fascinating. First, he's a face, which surprised me because I assumed he worked heel during his brief cameo in 79. Second, within minutes he's an over like crazy face to the Hamburg faithful after he makes a fired up comeback on Estrada, who had jumped him before the bell. Third, Albano comes down to ringside and briefly jaws with Piper, which is not only a tantalizing tease at what could've been, but also a peak into the future. Seeing how over he was here I'm still not exactly sure why he wasn't given a real run in NYC at the time
  18. Interesting point. I haven't thought about it but it may have been Hogan
  19. I get it you're a big fan of WAR? Maybe I would be if I ever see any of it. Probably too modern for my tastes
  20. I guess I prefer my wrestling to be Romantic
  21. Sean, make sure to watch the Philly strap match between Valentine and Strongbow from August 79 if you can. It's not talked about a lot but I thought it was a great match too
  22. Backlund vs Patterson from 7/30/79 MSG is one of Bob's best and definitely one of the best 70s WWWF matches
  23. Wait until you get to 1980, then your face will melt off

Ciampa vs Gargano is going to be so crazy when they finally fight. Crowd heat will be bonkers. Love how the build so far is the crowd booing the shit out of Ciampa as he tries to cut a promo and chanting for Gargano
