  1. Im totally down with exploring the history of the Studd Slam Challenge from 82-83 since Titans went kaput just as we were starting that
  2. I think Dick Graham legit thought Tama was Haku and vice versa for the entirety of the Islanders run
  3. Yeah, I could see us checking them out eventually
  4. Which ones? Just the regular week to week tv?
  5. Takeover Brooklyn gets my vote based on just watching the Takeovers and WWE ppvs. War Games was very good too. I know I enjoyed a lot of the WWE shows but damn if i can recall any specific one off the top of my head. I remember the horrible bloated ones more
  6. I loved the double ref tag. Just a good old school wrestling style angle-match. One of the better writers must be in charge of that storyline because pretty much everything else here is uninspired. I couldnt even be bothered to watch the main, even though I love AJ, because who the fuck cares about Jinder challenging after he's lost every match for the last month
  7. Greg Valentine is the first that comes to mind Oh top 5, let me think
  8. Not that I've ever seen or heard was out there, even on the garbage tapes for Flair vs Steamer
  9. What would we do without your amazing insight on professional wrestling
  10. Episode 17 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-17 June 26, 1982 (WCCW 27) We at World Cast pledge never, NEVER to miss a Wednesday...even if the recording date is screwed up and we have no choice but to release an episode slotted for early January as a fill in. AND THAT TIME IS NOW! Hopefully this isn't too confusing, as the boys jump ahead a few weeks to witness a pretty bland episode of World Class. But we have new commentators! (the backup tight end for the Cowboys?!?!) We have vignettes! (done poorly) We have extremely hairy wrestlers! (Well, just one) And through it all, we have Good Ol' Al to save us with another ** mindbender. Catch us next week for our regularly scheduled episode looking at Star Wars: The Super Bowl of Wrestling!!!!! (Let everyone else go nuts over The Last Jedi)
  11. Ricky Jackson replied to Woof's topic in WWE
Gargano vs Ohno was friggen great
  12. Parv loses his smile = Parv stops watching wrestling = Titans cancelled just before we start 1983 = no chance at seeing Rogers Corner with Chunger in July 1983
  13. Landy, post that Chunger appearance on Rogers Corner asap
  14. Parv loses his smile, so we lose Chunger on Rogers Corner
  15. Episode #16 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-16 June 5, 1982 (WCCW 24) HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT EPISODE ALERT!!! Chunger cuts a promo! Kevin gives up boots! Tom Shaft officially clinches Worst Wrestler Ever! A world without World Cast is a world without awesome!
  16. Not much love for many of the PWO favorites. "Added to the ballot next year: Kenny Omega" Uh oh
  17. In the right city at the right time of year with enough hype I think 10k is totally attainable for a Bullet Club supershow. Like has been said, it will be more of a hardcore fan gathering and won't need a major name like Punk or Bryan. There will be enough fans out there wanting to be part of something cool and anti-WWE to hit the mark
  18. Episode #15 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-15/s-HePoI May 29, 1982 (WCCW 23) World Class team batting averages! Good Ol' Al in a Taped Fist match with Great Kabuki! (but nobody told Kabuki) THE CANDYMAN! Kerry vs Bundy in the main event! And most important of all, mother f'n CHUNGERMANIA running wild!!!! Pete, Kelly and Johnny are here to break it all down. If you listen to only one WCCW 1982 retrospective podcast this week make it World Cast!
  19. Vancouver is probably the most unknown of the old territories. By the time footage becomes available in the 80s, they had severed ties with Owen and Portland and limped through the decade with minimal talent and little in the way of memorable matches or feuds that I'm aware of. They were upstaged in their own city by Stampede, who ran several big shows in 83 and 84. Dead territory by 89. By all accounts Vancouver was a hotbed for wrestling in the 60s and 70s and at times was as hot as any city in North America, which makes the sad years under Tomko even harder to take
  20. Vancouver! Interesting choice. Uncharted waters as far as the old territories go.
  21. Yeah poor Bret getting "stuck" in that iconic match a lot of people consider the greatest ever
  22. 5 new inductees announced Weds
  23. The real question is are either more popular than Molly Ringwald? 😉
  24. Oh yeah those early eps with Goodson on commentary are the pits. Last place team, 20 games out of first
