Most Puzzling Signings Ever
It was definitely mentioned that Mustafa was Iron Sheik on his Superstars debut, after that they never mentioned it. Or if they did, it was once or twice.

Iron Sheik
06.04-79 vs Bob Backlund from MSG is a good one. Then of course there's the Boot Camp match and another MSG match vs Sarge that is good. Sheik's good match resume is still pretty thin IMO.

Iron Sheik
Does it have anything to do with Sheik staying loyal to Vince turning down "$100,000" from Verne to not drop the title and break Hogan's leg? Something that might not have actually happened? Vince "never forgets" that kind of stuff (except when he does).

Highspots Crockett Documentary
Looks like a must-have. When exactly will it be available (for those of us too lazy to look ourselves).

Too much wrestling
Same here. Figure I have about 5 years worth of stuff I haven't gotten to yet, and have no chance of getting to for another year or so.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Here's a Facebook post Porter allegedly made while still in developmental:

You'll have to start over, Parv I've tried joining DVDVR multiple times over the years and never get granted membership. So I waste my hours exclusively at PWO and don't feel I'm missing out on anything over there. PWO is awesome.

Dave Meltzer stuff
As a whole, I think the NFL is a bubble. It might still be expanding 20 years from now but will eventually burst. Somewhere, some time, paying fans will draw the line and stop paying so much to see games. Maybe when tickets reach $1500 for a upper deck corner seat for a September game, or maybe when owners dome all stadiums, remove the air and install coin-fed oxygen tanks in each seat (I bet Dan Snyder has already looked into this). You gotta think eventually people will reach their limit. Possibly? I don't know. The prices right now are already fuckin' obscene IMO, but 80,000 dumbasses per week per NFL city seem to really enjoy paying for the experience. Never underestimate the stupidity of the American public, though. The TV numbers alone should be kept in mind the next time an NFL owner cries poverty over player salaries, or needing a publicly funded billion $ stadium for their private profits, or what have you. Me bitter? Nah...

Insane amount of money for a worked sport Sooner or later, one would think the bubble will burst. It has to eventually, doesn't it?

Roddy Piper
I didn't ever like his stuff on the mic or in the ring as a heel or face in the 80's and 90's. Going back through the 80's WWF stuff the past few years I liked him quite a bit better. Not enough to do a complete u-turn, maybe half - an "r-turn". He's a lot better in the ring than I previously gave him credit for, but I still can't really get into too much of his stuff, aside from the dog collar match.

Wow, I had high hopes for this set but the selections blow. Mild VQ upgrades on a couple of matches and that's about it.

Where the Big Boys Play #45
It's funny that Billy Graham finished second in the running for his own award.
-
Who took the best backdrop?
Billy Gunn took it well. Maybe not the best, but he's the first guy I thought of.

Where the Big Boys Play #45
I think the Valentine-Piper match is generally well thought of. I think it's a great match and it seems to hold up to repeated viewings. I never had a problem with the finish. Not sure what this is worth, if anything - it's a match that seems to get over well with non-fans and casual fans. I put it on a tape years ago for a handful of friends that didn't follow wrestling or had a very casual interest. Every single person came back with praise for this match whether they liked anything else or not.

03-18-78 All Star Wrestling - Superstar Graham vs Tony Garea. Fun 7 minute match. Maybe use it as a breather between longer matches.

What do you consider to be the most prestigious title?
I'd like to see how this poll does over at KM compared to here. NWA - 50% Vince ruined everything - 50%

JvK's tour of the South
How hard is it to score day-of-game SEC football tickets? I'd be up for a Georgia game if it was even a remote possibility. There is no possibility of selling my wife on a baseball game Really looking forward to this trip. My boss sounds cooler than JvK's, so there's really no chance that ours gets cancelled.

Where the Big Boys Play #44
Best personal hygiene - No idea, but I would be willing to bet it's not Jimmy Valiant Best manager - JJ Dillon Best Announcer (play-by-play) - Jim Ross Best Announcer (colour) - [EDIT] David Crockett. Forgot all about him. As much as I like Caudle, David gets the nod. Best Feud - Flair vs Funk Most Improved Wrestler - Lex Luger Best Tag Team - Midnight Express, either version Top 20 matches - How about two? 1) Flair vs Steamboat May 7 '89; 2) Magnum TA vs Tully SC '85
