Wrestlers who are BOTH Overrated and Underrated
I'm definitely guilty of overrating Navarro for the GWE. I've seen a fair amount of boring matches from him that I didn't weigh near as heavily as his best stuff. I equated him with Black Terry too much. I think he finished in my top 30 but maybe he shouldn't have even been in my top 50.

Separated at Birth?
I've always though Zbyszko and Oliver Stone looked an awful lot alike.

Proposal for 2018: Match Review Trades
I reviewed Randy Savage vs Bret Hart at Slamboree 98 for IpponDropkick here: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/27059-randy-savage-vs-bret-hart-wcw-slamboree-051798/&do=findComment&comment=5846794 I'm going to say it, I don't think Bret Hart is even a top 10 American worker for the 1990s. Outside of a few matches I think he is one of the least compelling wrestlers ever.

[1998-05-17-WCW-Slamboree] Randy Savage vs Bret Hart
This is framed like its a hate filled brawl between Savage and Hart but they don't wrestle it like that. It winds up as another apathetic, faux-intense Bret Hart snoozer. I will give Savage and Hart their due. Both guys emote well here. The camera gets some close shots of Savage laying in some nasty-looking punches and choking Hart with his boot. It feels intense in the moment. The problem is in the space between the moves. Hart's deliberate pace sucks all the emotion out. It descends into Hart just running through his offense and ends with a nonsensical finish. There is almost always a disconnect between what Hart thinks he's doing and what he actually does. That goes for the majority of his promos as a face and his work in the ring. At one point Savage comes back and hits his elbow drop but only gets a two-count and the whole thing somehow feels uneventful. This is Austin-Hart Lite with the uninspired crowd brawling and (lack of) hatred that supposedly warrants a special referee.

Proposal for 2018: Match Review Trades
IWA: Ricky Banderas, Hijo del Santo, Jesús Cristóbal vs. Antifaz, Bad Medicine, Rey Bucanero (1999) There wasn't enough going on in this match to warrant its own thread. By the time all six men were in the ring there was about ten minutes left on the video. I was hoping to get a sprint full of high spots or an all-out brawl but this was a pretty nothing match. There wasn't much from any of the participants save a few athletic spots from Santito and some chicken shit stalling from Antifaz. This is just a placeholder in a feud between Santo and Antifaz that's not worth discussing.

Proposal for 2018: Match Review Trades
My super late review for shodate. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/41836-solar-ii-stuka-acertijo-vs-el-talisman-el-dandy-guerrero-negro-cmll-010886/ And my match for Tim Evans

[1986-01-08-CMLL] Solar II & Stuka & Acertijo vs El Talisman & El Dandy & Guerrero Negro
Thefirst fall never gets too heated. Things start off with them working one-up spots in favor of the tecnicos , frustrating the rudos. Solar II and Dandy show each other a modicum of respect in their initial interactions that the other pairings don’t. The rudos’ failings lead to some fun failed-double-team spots and then to some fun failed-triple-team spots that are all fluid and well worked. However it feels like everyone is on cruise control and the action never goes up a gear. The numbers game eventually gets to the tecnicos and this ends in two falls for the rudos.

WWE TV 4/16-4/22, it's getting drafty in here...
Charlotte's selling and facial expressions make it look like she has to poop really bad.

Most Overrated 5 Star Matches
As a kid/teenager I always misremembered Austin/Bret as an I Quit match because of how it was worked.

JDW Gordy lists
I'm now much more interested in figuring out who the best in-ring wrestler in the WWF in 1993 was than any direct comparisons. (I doubt Michaels would be in my top 5, from either an input or output perspective. I'd probably have Borne, Bret, Yoko, Kid over him easily. Maybe Hennig too). From going off the PPVs and RAW that year I legitimately thought Borne as Doink was the best guy that year. He didn't have a lot of opportunities at big matches on the PPVs but his television work blows away almost everyone elses. Bret would be his biggest competition in theory, but I thought Jannetty, Kid, Yoko, Perfect and even Luger were better, especially on RAW.

Dick Murdoch
His 2/23/80 match against Jumbo Tsuruta has him working a serious 2/3 falls old school AJPW title match and it's pretty good.

Dick Murdoch
Dick Murdoch vs Carlos Colon - Barbed Wire Match -1991 There is an awful lot of comedy in this for what is a very dangerous stipulation. This starts out with Murdoch working comedy spots with the barbed wire. He gets backed into the corner and the referee (is that Victor Quinones?) has to get his tights untangled. Murdoch looks like he desperately wants out and Colon looks like he wants to kick ass. They do some basic brawling but Murdoch takes everything thrown at him in a comedic direction. It works early on, with Murdoch doing chickenshit heel spots to get over the stip, but you want the drama in a match like this to be about violence and/or revenge. Murdoch looks vicious when he first takes over, but he gets more comedic as the match goes on. His manager is in a cage suspended above the ring and he writes instructions on a little chalkboard that he lowers down to Murdoch with instructions. They keep repeating this throughout the match and it gets sillier and sillier. Colon just becomes a passenger on the Murdoch goof express. Meanwhile Murdoch is bleeding because it is a barbed wire match after all. Talk about thematic dissonance. I like Murdoch's work but it wasn't right in this context. Too much Murdoch (who I love), not enough Colon.

Yeah that was me. Haha, I forgot all about that. The GWE seems like it was forever ago.

First time I've watched a live WWE show that wasn't NXT or a ppv in years and to my surprise I enjoyed just about everything. I came in at the end of the Naomi/Nattie match.

Having Nakamura take that match away from us was a great move to get him heel heat.

They keep saying fantasy match instead of dream match. It sounds goofy.
