[1991-10-27-WCW-Halloween Havoc] Barry Windham, Dustin Rhodes and The Enforcers
He was already hurt, he broke it in several places in a jobber match so they did this to cover it up. I think in the KC Timeline he said they gimmicked the door somehow with a 2x4 to make it look real. They later showed the jobber match because they're WCW and they do stupid shit like that and dubbed commentary like "Oh he's really messing up his injured hand"

[1992-04-04-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Mrs Elizabeth
I used to stare at those pictures for hours like it was one of those "spot the difference" games. I figured they just took the pictures twice. Even photoshop in 2013 can't look that good. I remember the WWF magazine that came out afterwards EXPOSING Flair as a liar. I'd love to find it and scan it because even as a 9 year old I found their explanations laughable. "See the R on the towel that Ric says stands for RIC....well guess what? It stands for RANDY!!" like...yeah but it could also be R for Ric. There was also some breakdown of the videos on the shelf that conclusively proved it was taken in Savage's house, I believe something like "Look World Tour 91 is on the shelf...Ric claims Liz was his BEFORE Savage, yet that's a new tape available now on Coliseum home video wherever fine videos are sold!"

[1991-11-02-WWF-Superstars] Bret Hart and The Mountie
He still worked on WWF house shows in Canada as Jacques Reageau but would still do the whole "I'm the mountie!" schtick during matches which is pretty cool.

[1992-02-29-WCW-Superbrawl II] Sting vs Lex Luger
This was like right at the exact moment I became a big mark and unfortunately I couldn't talk my parents into renting it (my neighbour rented all the WWF PPVs this year) so I remember dying of curiosity to find out if Sting won. Kids nowadays probably just stream it if their parents won't rent it. Lucky bastards. I didn't even get to actually watch this until 5 or 6 years ago because no stores around here had it. But oh boy did I have it played out in my mind from the pictures in WCW magazine.

If not Backlund who?
This is interesting to me because for the first time ever I'm watching old WWWF. I started in 1975 and am on 1980. Dusty was over way more than I ever figured he could have been up north, but I agree with jdw, he couldn't have done it for as long as Backlund did and I agree that there's no one (that I've seen) that could've. I mean, technically, Backlund didn't succeed at it either. It was just a serviceable run as champion. The crazy part is how long they let it go on. They coulda abandoned ship around late 79 - 80 because there were plenty of heels that could've held it for a bit to give it to someone mentioned like DiBiase (who is popping up on some of the stuff I'm watching now in 80 and looks absolutely fantastic) or Steamboat (also showing up albeit as a tag team guy). Their patience worked out for them though because when they did get it to a intermediary champion it was to get the belt on the person that would change their fortunes so I guess there wouldn't be too much "what ifs" from the McMahon's financial perspective. Butterfly effect etc.

"I've got 2 words for ya: Come here pal!......well I guess that was 3" I love this spot with the babyfaces cheering him. Seriously though, what were the Dangerous Alliance doing back there? PN News beat them out there!

When did they start dimming the lights during Taker's entrance? They didn't here and I guess I never noticed that they didn't do that from the start.

[1991-11-23-WWF-Superstars] Randy Savage and Jake Roberts
I do remember him saying that but in Jake's AOW podcast he basically admitted he killed some of the snakes ("they commited suicide by smashing their heads against the wall" as he put it) so this snake which was baited into becoming aggressive was probably doomed either way.

[1991-11-19-WCW-Clash of the Champions VII] Arn Anderson & Larry Zbyszko vs Ricky Steamboat & Dustin Rhodes
With that get-up the first thing Tony thinks is that it may be someone from Japan but the first thing I think is that it's the Dragon Master from USWA. I love those tag belts, btw. They kept those around for a while (until the side plate fell off). This is a really, really good match for sure.

[1991-11-16-USWA-Memphis TV] The Spirit of America vignette
Eric Embry gives the reaction of everyone watching. God he's so awesome. The guy playing SOA was in one of my favourite USWA segments. When he was unmasked by Bull Pain in a really weird moment the announcers were like THAT'S HE-MAN RANDY LEWIS!!! even though no one had a clue who he was they kept repeating it with the same amount of conviction as you would say "That's Bill Clinton!" if you saw our ex-president walking down the street.
