[1990-11-22-WWF-Survivor Series] Hulk Hogan & Ultimate Warrior & Tito Santana vs Rick Martel & Hercules & Paul Roma & Warlord & Ted DiBiase
My favourite part is when Santana comes out Monsoon and Piper are just gushing over how great a guy he is and what a class act he is. Then Warrior comes out and they're silent through his entire entrance before Monsoon finally breaks the silence with something like "What a match this will be!" Kills me every time.

[1990-11-22-WWF-Survivor Series] The Gobbledygooker
Sue me, I don't think it was THAT BAD. Yes it was overhyped but I think the fan reaction is what killed it dead. All they were gonna use it for was a Wild Cat Willie type thing, supposedly not as an actual wrestler. Definitely not worse than magic shows the Black Scorpion was doing at the same time.

[1990-10-27-NWA-Halloween Havoc] Sting vs Sid Vicious
I had a WCW magazine that had a clear photo of Windham as Sting and even there he was passable so I think it was well-done by the wrestlers. It's just that the storyline was pretty convoluted that made this fall apart.

Those Almanacs got me some cool stuff too because in the mid 90s (before the internet was anything that I had even heard of) there was a wrestling talk show that gave away prizes for answering questions like "Who did so-and-so beat for such-and-such title?" or "Where did this PPV take place?" or they'd give a real name and you'd guess their kayfabe name. I won so many times (usually with the help of the Almanac) they instituted the "You can only win once a month" rule. Got some cool stuff like some (now rare) action figures that I never opened and even front row seats to an NFL game from the owner of the station.

Little questions thread
Hey I don't mean to derail the current conversation, but this is the "little questions thread" after all. Why are there practically ZERO hardcore female fans of wrestling? Hardcore wrestling junkies span the globe and this little community here is one hell of a cross section. Aside from liking wrestling, the only other thing we all have in common is we're males. You can find hardcore female fans of all other sports and virtually all other areas of entertainment. Not wrestling. Why? Sorry if this has been debated to death years ago or something. I'm a female "hardcore" fan. I've followed since I was 9 and spend almost all of my free time watching old (and sometimes new) wrestling, even though my boyfriend thinks it's hokey and only knows Attitude era guys. I have good knowledge of everything American post 85 and a small working knowledge of Japan since 90-ish (and a slightly smaller range of knowledge about other regions). I'm sure there are others, maybe even that you've talked to and just don't know it as there's really no reason to bring it up on the internet.

The story I remember was that Tugboat "go an ego" so Vince punished him by removing him from the main event. Doesn't make a ton of sense but wouldn't be the first case of that.

Am I the only one that read those Almanacs so much that the cover fell off? Happened to every damn edition.

[1990-08-18-WWF-Superstars] Update: Mr Perfect accepts Kerry Von Erich's challenge for Summerslam
My first ever wrestling merchandise was a Texas Tornado trapper keeper folder. Which is odd because I didn't start watching in earnest until 92. My guess is that my dad (who is from the Dallas area) bought it for me. I had it for years.
