[1990-01-27-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Robert Fuller & Brian Lee
Fuller puts Elvis and Billy Joe Travis in the same category which caused Dave Brown to do a double take. Well I'm ready to put Fuller in the same group too as he sings a nice little number about the pain he is going through. Lawler is there to give advice about women. Dundee can't resist jumping through the curtain to mock Fuller with some fake crying. Fun segment.

[1990-01-27-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Ted DiBiase
Odd place for a DiBiase interview. They must have rushed this one together.

[1990-01-26-USWA Texas] Jeff Jarrett vs Billy Joe Travis (Guitar on a Pole)
Travis has had a great month so far. Really good match with some big bumps. One of those Pole matches were first person to get guitar wins. The piledriver on the floor gave me pause for a moment but we aren't in Memphis. Lawler ends up convincing Travis to give up the guitar so he can hit Jarrett. Billy should have got the shot in.

[1990-01-26-NWA-Power Hour] Ric Flair & Arn Anderson & Sting vs Great Muta & Buzz Sawyer & Dragon Master
Yeah, loved the crowd is this match. They were loud and Sawyer plays it off well at the beginning making it seem like they were driving him more crazy. Sting had one of those great first moment's of action when he tags in with a flying clothesline. Crowd went nuts there. Sting also does a impressive press slam to the outside. Referee ignores the over the top rope rule there. Good build to the Clash with Sting taking the mist to the eyes at the end.

[1990-01-22-WWF-Miami, FL] Randy Savage vs Roddy Piper
Nice match up. Agreed these guys needed a PPV type match at some point. Piper seems to always enjoy roughing up Sherri. She gets in her own shots throughout the match though. They trade airplane spins? Savage climbs up the turnbuckle backwards and falls off. Weird they are playing this match for comedy but I laughed. No surprise that there was not a clean finish.

[1990-01-21-WWF-Royal Rumble] Ron Garvin vs Greg Valentine
Good point about Monsoon if he was commentary on this match. I'll relax my stance somewhat from my previous drunken comments but I still don't like the pinfall attempts. It's clearly announced by Fink that this is a submission match. There was a brief pin attempt (more of an arrogant pose by Valentine) and a reversal by Garvin at the beginning that was fine. Commentators get to put over that no pinfalls in this match and that's that. But Garvin continues to do pinfall attempts later in the match which was just silly. Thing is I really enjoy this match otherwise and do like it more and more on repeated viewings. These two guys were just smacking the hell out of each other. I was cool with the whole leg brace stuff other than Garvin making stupid faces when in the figure four. Very physically match between two guys who clear don't like one another and just want to beat each other up. The goofy pinfalls attempts by Garvin later in match just were not necessary.

[1990-01-21-WWF-Royal Rumble] Royal Rumble
Managers allowed at ring side. They seemed to never be consistent with that rule over the years. Michaels has a very brief appearance. Fans are really into the Hogan/Warrior exchange. Rude completely jumps the gun on his entrance. Even with Hogan in there crowd seemed to deflate after Warrior got the boot. Perfect Plex as a run in move doesn't really work and same goes for in the Rumble. Perfect seemed to have zero chance when it was down to him and Hogan.

[1990-01-21-WWF-Royal Rumble] Brutus Beefcake vs The Genius
These moments of Jesse on commentary makes me kind of sad as he won't be around too much longer on WWF TV. The Perfect Plex doesn't really work as a run in/beatdown move. Tony modifying Jesse's line of always cheat to always cutting hair was pretty funny. Tony does complain about Perfect bringing a weapon into the ring but seems to forget Beefcake did that first with the scissors.

[1990-01-20-USWA Texas] Jerry Lawler vs Junkyard Dog
These are some of the worst commentators I’ve heard. The play by play guy seems like he could fall asleep any moment calling the match. Stalling early by Lawler. JYD is in control until the commercial break does him in. JYD is pretty awful in the ring. Lawler does what he can but just not a very good match.

[1990-01-20-USWA-Memphis TV] Music Video: Jeff Jarrett
They sure did put a lot of effort into trying to get Jarrett over with music videos. Seems like the yearbooks are loaded with them.

[1990-01-20-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler / Interview: Junkyard Dog
Well if it was taped earlier in the week it seems to get to Lawler as he messes up on the day of when their match was. Lawler is more serious here compared to other segments so far. He’s even calling out Dave Brown.

[1990-01-20-WWF-Superstars] Brother Love: Hulk Hogan
Hogan wants the number one spot in the Rumble. He thinks posing alone with eliminate a bunch of guys. He specifically mentions the Warrior and that he will feel the power of Hulkamania. Brother Love says that Mr. Perfect will win. So they were pretty limiting to who would win this whole thing.

[1990-01-19-USWA Texas] Bill Dundee & Chris Adams & Eric Embry vs Billy Travis & Gary Young & Skandor Akbar
This was lots of fun and I was getting a kick out of Travis in this match. The comedy exchanges with him and Dundee were great. He definitely boosted this match when he was in the ring. Adams takes a long beat down to the leg which concerns his wife a lot. She ends up getting shoved to the ground by Embry which was kind of weird and a pretty crappy thing to do by Eric. Adams comes to his wife's defense and the faces implode on the outside of the ring. But there's Billy Joe in the ring with this fists up ready to duke it out if need be. Heels delight with all of this going on.

[1990-01-16-UWF-with '90] Akira Maeda vs Nobuhiko Takada
Tough to watch early as seemed to drag on with neither guy doing match. I can really only get into Takada when he is going up against American pro wrestlers. Crowd was pretty into match though. Takada gets in a shot to Maeda's face which effects his vision. It's gets going at the end and Takada gets the ankle lock on. Overall, near the bottom of the matches on set so far.

[1990-01-16-UWF-with '90] Kazuo Yamazaki vs Yoji Anjoh
Yamazaki usually always brings the kicks to these type of bouts. Match was alright. Probably the highlight was Anjoh's leaping knee drop to the chin.
