[1992-03-20-AJPW-Championship Carnival] Toshiaki Kawada vs Kenta Kobashi
Been enjoying these AJPW singles matches on set. This probably falls in the middle of the pack. It does slow down a bit more in the middle than I would have liked but they got me and the crowd completely back in at the end. Great back and forth at the to the finish. Kobashi had some good kick outs but I was surprised to see him then submit.

AWA Thread
In my effort to put a ballot together, I went back and rewatched disc 1. Stuff grew on me for the most part on second viewing. Anyways, match I thought would easily end up in my top 10 overall dropped a few spots on this disc alone because I found myself liking other stuff a lot more. Will be interesting to see how I view the remaining discs but I think disc 1 has the advantage of having finishes to all the matches (screwjob in Hogan/Bock withstanding) while we start to see more count out/disqualifications in future matches.

1990 hype!
Don't tempt me! I had to go look this up after your post. Pretty damn funny.

[1992-03-16] Donahue: Vince McMahon, Dave Meltzer, John Arezzi, Barry Orton & Bruno Sammartino
This was fascinating. The one and one between Vince and Murray was probably my favorite thing. Murray was really taking it to Vince. Interesting to read that he was full of it. McMahon seemed rather subdued compared to his later interviews on Costas/Real Sports. I think that Vince would probably have strangled Murray on the set. Definitely some cringe worthy stuff being said. Graham came off really awful.

[1992-03-09-NJPW-Big Fight Series] Big Van Vader & Bam Bam Bigelow vs Masa Chono & Shinya Hashimoto
Nothing fancy but a good match. Chono flew off the top top at one point and Vader caught him so easy in mid air. Vader came off more of a monster in this match compared to previous matches. He was just pounding on Chono who ill advised tried to slug back and forth with him.

[1992-03-14-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Jake Roberts
Yeah, Jake just seems to be in a different league from everyone else on promos right now. He's non yelling approach comes off even better in his heel interviews. Just more creepier.

[1992-03-01-CMLL] Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 & Sangre Chicana vs Konnan & Perro Aguayo & Rayo de Jalisco Jr
I thought the first fall was insane. Just loved it. They just brawl outside the ring the whole time and into the crowd. They went into the ring for like a minute and then head back outside again. There is no railing/barrier in front of the crowd so they are practically fighting on top of the crowd. Was totally cracking up with Chicana was trying to escape into the crowd and ended up dragging a fan a long the floor. The fan just popped up and ran off. Just great wild chaos going on. Got to the point though where after the first fall, I completely lost tracking of what the hell was going on. Completely missed the second fall. Will have to go back and watch this one again some time.

[1992-03-07-SMW-TV] Bob Armstrong and Ron Wright
This was indeed awesome. Poor Ron Wright. He's never hurt a man in his life. Armstrong was great too just cutting him off and not buying what Ron was saying. Loved him just physically wheeling Wright out of the interview area.

[1992-03-04-AJPW-Excite Series] Steve Williams & Terry Gordy vs Jumbo Tsuruta & Akira Taue
I thought they were cutting right to the finish with Taue taking powerbombs but match goes on longer. Wasn't as high on this as you guys as the timing seemed off a few instances such as Jumbo being late to break up a pinfall attempt. Other wise Jumbo was the better man in this match and continues his strong 92 year. Good final moments with him and Williams.

[1992-03-04-AJPW-Excite Series] Stan Hansen vs Mitsuharu Misawa
Good match but can't help comparing it to other AJPW matches from this time period. Actually think it's the weakest of the AJPW singles matches on set so far. These guys just don't seem to mesh that great together. I actually looked at it as Hansen bullying around Misawa though Misawa came back strong at the end. Getting the foot on the ropes after the lariat made Misawa look strong. He got beat with two out of nowhere lariats.

[1992-02-29-WCW-Superbrawl II] Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes vs Steve Austin & Larry Zbyszko
Austin was throwing lariats non stop. Really liked the first part of the match with Windham involved. Agree with those who felt it kind of dragged with Dustin got in there. Windham tags in and it gets immediately better. Don't think it is a great match still consider it to be pretty good.

[1992-02-29-WCW-Superbrawl II] Rick Rude vs Ricky Steamboat
Crowd were all over Rude when he tried to do his pre match promo. Thought it was pretty obvious who the Ninja was going to be. Was this Ninja character normally in Steamboat's corner? I haven't seen them in any other of the matches so far on set. Think I'm in the camp who feels like Rude was the better man in this match. Great job selling the arm through out. I was okay with the finish even though I was just waiting for the Ninja to get involved at some point.

[1992-02-23-UWA] Silver King & El Texano & Gran Hamada vs Negro Casas & Dr Wagner Jr & Rambo
Hadn't read the comments when watched this. Thought it got off to a great start with the action before the bell even rang. For a while I was thinking the previous six man from 2/16 was better but it really picked up for me midway through the second fall. The finish to the second fall had me wondering what the heck just happened there but seeing what they did on the replay had me thinking that was such a great and unique finish. Being a Lucha novice it was really cool to see so many unique spots. Not the best match of 92 so far but one of the most fun.
