[1994-01-29-WWF-Superstars] Jack Tunney announcement
After letting the Rumble finish stand as a draw, I think Tunney makes the right call by letting both competitors get a shot at the title at WrestleMania. He spells out the match possibilities pretty clearly. This was more effective than a long promo any current GM would do.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Royal Rumble] Royal Rumble
I think there has been worse Rumbles than this though there was a lack of star power in the event. Diesel was definitely the highlight of this when he tore through everyone before getting ganged up on. I thought Bigelow also had a good performance lasting a decent amount of time after already having a match earlier and being involved in the casket match. Michaels/Jannetty squaring off was a great little segment in event.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Royal Rumble] Undertaker vs Yokozuna (Casket)
Well, I was 13 at the time and found the post match supernatural stuff a bit silly. But I did enjoy the heels interfering and beating up Undertaker. More pre match video history before hand. Match is in full which was a surprise as I thought we would just get the post match stuff. Yoko with a chair shot to back of Taker's head that looked like it could have hurt. Match was pretty decent up until the run ins. Jarrett didn't fit with the other guys out there. Would have thought I'd hate this these days but it doesn't age as bad as expected.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Royal Rumble] Bret & Owen Hart vs The Quebecers
Glad the video history package was included before the match. Well, this is my return to wrestling. I stopped watching WWF (all I watched for wrestling at that time) around late 90. Didn't have cable anymore and being the youngest with only one TV is the household, I didn't get much access to it. A friend of mine taped this PPV and I randomly just watched this the next night after the show. I loved this angle and immediately became a huge fan favorite of Owen and got sucked back into wrestling. So this show has some strong sentimental value to me. I still think this match is very good after these years but doesn't seem as long in time as when I watched it originally. Quebecers do a good number on Bret outside the ring after he injures his knee. Bret not being able to continuing and the ref stopping the match doesn't seem as believable as it did at the time though. This seems too short now and referee jumped to this decision too quickly. But how can you not agree with Owen that all Bret had to do was make the tag. Owen is none too pleased at this result and we get the turn and his wonderful post match promo.

[1994-01-22-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Bret & Owen Hart
Owen will finally get his big break. Him and Bret will finally win the big titles. Water under the bridge. I believe it. New tights for Bret.

[1994-01-17-WWF-Raw] The Undertaker and Yokozuna
Yoko good, Crush Bad. This sets up the Rumble match as Yoko is deathly afraid of casket matches. Sells is really good when Undertaker pops out.

[1994-01-15-WWF-Superstars] Update: Owen's not happy!
Is Bret standing on a stool like Andre here? Looking many inches taller than Owen on promo. Poor Owen, this was his big opportunity. Quebuequers pretty confident to get titles back.

[1994-01-14-WWF-San Jose, CA] Shawn Michaels vs Razor Ramon (Ladder)
I hate handhelds. As a ladder match I was expecting more high spots but we were not getting them here. The commentary did not do it for me. The WrestlemMania match was way better than this.

[1994-01-11-WWF-Florence, SC] Bret & Owen Hart vs Rick & Scott Steiner
I love this match. About ten years ago I picked up the Wrestlefest VHS on Ebay just to see this match. Worth it. Great suplex exchange early between Owen and the Steiners. Screwdriver makes another appearance on this set. I have to personally rank Steiners in top two of my favorites matches in this set so far. Too bad we didn't get an Harts vs. 123 Kid/Jannetty match at this time. Well at least WWE history tells me so. Gorilla going out of his way to call Patterson fat at end of match was funny.

[1994-01-11-WWF-Florence, SC] 1-2-3 Kid & Marty Jannetty vs The Headshrinkers
Afa hit a sweet Samoan Drop here. He looked pretty spry in his brief exchange with the Kid. Second ref running down and changing finish is silly as there is no consistency with this type of stuff. Samu did a great hanging of himself in the ropes off a Kid spin kick. Agree with Gorilla, should have just let the match continue instead of DQ. Fonzie is indeed a goof.

[1994-01-08-WCW-Worldwide] Interview: Ric Flair
Yep, Gene was interrupting Flair at times. Putting his hand on Flair's shoulder to try to get him to wrap things up faster. Okerlund named Hogan in here. Was Hogan already in the works to come to WCW at this point?

Hogan's post match pose down doesn't look all that impressive with those skinny arms.

This has to be the first time I've seen Inoki lose a match. Granted I haven't seen a ton of matches so this was a pleasant surprise to see.
