Thought it was good though not great. Was this the match Bret put over as a favorite of his? They have a much longer match the next night that was put on his recent Blu Ray release. I wonder if there is some confusion between the two.

I should clarify that I'm not begging for the return of the mailbag unless it's a letter from Super 8 or Dominic Denucci threatening you all with a chair shot.

Cactus getting a lot of offense early on. Vader delivers a very questionable low elbow drop. Vader's splash where he missed looked bad as he landed on his feet and just fell backwards. Plenty of Cactus' offense though. They could have got the powerbomb over on the floor mat but damn that looked vicious on the concrete. Credit to WCW for at least playing up big with the stretcher job.

Excellent primer for the set. You can tell Phil and Kris are so passionate about Lucha as they are so excited and talking over each other during this. I've only got into lucha last few years. The referee counts were something I noticed at first but they are pretty consistent with the slow counts that I got use to fine. I'd say the thing I had the most difficulty getting use to was in the trios matches with the consecutive pinfalls happening really quick that was mentioned. I've learned in my own way to just accept that the first pinfall during fall is pretty much the end and the rest of things is extracurricular stuff. Have this set on tap but holding off until I'm fully ready to go since I just completed AWA ballot and didn't watch to rush in too quickly to this.

I did really like Han's movie like top wrist take down. However this as a whole went way too long. Han randomly turning his back on his opponent trying to run away as he is getting kicked in the ass looks pretty bad.

This is where WCW cameraman standing on apron in corner really works out well. Vader's shots were so stiff and brutal. Most of the match is that but it's still something to watch. I do not like Ventura being edited out of WCW commentary on WWE releases. Race took a couple bumps on the outside.

It's cool to see Regal as a face in WCW just before his Lord days. I don't think his offense is much different though except him maybe not being as aggressive as he would later on. Still get plenty of European uppercuts though. Pretty good match.

Vince is already putting Bret over as the people's champion. Was he souring on Hogan that fast? Hart says he has always been the underdog and it hasn't stopped him before. He plans on being champion again. The feud with Luger must have been a really short one.

It is so cool to see Macho and Sherri back together like it is 1990. Sherri is even wearing a dress from the Queen Sherri days. It's probably one of the things I like most about Memphis during these years as guys being a face in WWF and then being all heel going up against Lawler in USWA.

This is definitely one of my favorite matches of the year so far. I'm not a fan cam person so I really need to stress to others who feel the same to give this one a chance. A guy like Hansen is so missing as a top level guy in later AJPW when you don't have him or Jumbo as the veteran guys to give the lower guys those matches were they give a lot to their opponents. Kobashi totally takes it to Hansen through out this match. I actually think this is a good set up to the 94 Carnival match. Great finish here.

Fans in front row were getting their shins beat up with all the dives to the outside and no barricades to stop the wrestlers. As far as American indies go this blows away stuff we are seeing in 97 yearbook. Sabu feels totally fresh and I like his out of control nature in the ring. Kid really did feel like he was destined to be a big time performer in the ring going forward.
