[1997-02-08-WWF-Shotgun Saturday Night] The Undertaker vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley
Great setting. Was just there is April. Triple H escapes with the DQ victory. Great finish to it all with Undertaker hitting the Tombstone on the escalator.

Thanks to Lance Russell in trying to make sense of this candle Arm wrestling match. Fireball! Lance wants to go to commercial break.

[1997-02-08-USWA-TV] Brian Pillman and Lance Russell
Lance Russell is eager to interview Pillman but then gets ripped on by Brian. Not the best guest. Lance talks about how much of an embarrassment this is. Pillman alludes to the roaring 20's when it comes to Russell.

[1997-02-08-USWA-TV] Bobby Bolton and Mike Samples
Got a total kick of them brawling in what looked like a Burger King.

Summerslam Live Thoughts
Do they still show the Divas show at the same time Summerslam is going on?

[1997-02-03-WCW-Nitro] Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan
Piper brings his kid out to the ring which isn't the smartest idea. I don't care for Piper talking about Patriots losing to Packers in Superbowl. Hogan and Bischoff find this as a perfect opportunity to show up. Piper is more worried about his kid and not ready to fight. Kid is a pro going along with this. Piper ends up beating up both Hogan and Bischoff. Title match is on at Superbrawl.

[1997-02-03-WCW-Nitro] DDP, The Outsiders, Randy Savage and Sting
Nash is wearing himself a Giant tshirt. Okay. Savage and String both make appearances in the crowd but not much happens. Hall and Nash end up backing off.

[1997-02-03-WWF-Raw] Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and Sid
I felt at the time that WWF was more than competitive with WCW with the crowd they had here at Skydome. Yeah, the lighting isn't the best but it is still a big crowd. Bret listens on during Michael's promo which is booed by the fans. Michaels is ready to be the worst guy as can be to keep the WWF title. Both guys were becoming unlikeable leading up to WrestleMania. Also, I believe they showed a replay of the Royal Rumble at this show which was a first for WWF?

[1997-02-01-ECW-Crossing the Line Again] Tommy Rich vs Terry Funk
Rich got too much offense in for me. I think Terry should have been more strong in this match building towards Barely Legal. Desperado is a great intro for Funk. ECW fans let Rich know about his conditioning.

[1997-01-27-WCW-Nitro] Interview: Hulk Hogan
Bischoff and Hogan have fun with Hollywood's previous technical exhibition against The Giant. Reverse Fireman Carry? Was Hogan doing the Burning Hammer before Kobashi? Both Savage and Sting make appearances in the crowd.

[1997-01-27-WCW-Nitro] Randy Anderson, NWO, Rick and Scott Steiner
Bischoff is such an asshole here. I don't know if he ever got his return back for his but he totally deserved to get his ass kicked. Randy Anderson gets fired for being involved in the tag match at Souled Out. Bischoff should have been firing his own lax security at the PPV for letting Anderson get into the ring so easily. Steiners give the belts back.

[1997-01-27-WWF-Raw] Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, The Undertaker and Steve Austin
Everyone but Undertaker comes off heelish. Vince plugs rematch of Shawn versus Sid at Thursday Raw Thursday. Michaels is going to give Sid his shot back at the title. Bret wants Shawn to keep the title so he can face him one on one. Undertaker lets us know he is ready to be back in the title picture.

[1997-01-25-WCW-NWO Souled Out] Hulk Hogan vs The Giant
After many years of Hogan no selling finishers it is fun to see The Giant pop up so easily after the leg drop. Nick Patrick does a terrible job of letting Hogan know The Giant is standing right behind him ready for the Chokelsam. Patrick ends up having issues with the pinfall count. The Giant never had a chance on this PPV with winning the belt.

[1997-01-25-WCW-NWO Souled Out] Eddy Guerrero vs Syxx (Ladder)
They avoid the ladder early and mostly wrestle in the ring. Couple blown spots by Guerrero. They are using a in ring camera trying to be different but it really doesn't add much. They do a couple dives on each other and then do the slow climbing of the ladder which sucks. Both guys grab the belt at the same time with Syxx falling to the mat and the belt landing by his feet. Nick Patrick totally could have called it that Syxx had the belt there. Very average Ladder match.

Best of Japan 2000-2009 vote
Interesting viewing project for myself as I'm backed up as it is but a year to watch this many matches? Plus I haven't seen that much of Japan from 2000's so would be interesting to see.

Favorite Wrestling Video Games
Thank you. I love the AKI N64 version of games for WCW, WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy. Definitely some of my favorites. But the AJPW version game was great also as it had the super finishers too. The super long battle royals with 40 guys in those games were just awesome. You were talking aver an hour of wrestling time to finish those things. Big fan of Royal Rumble on Super Nintendo/Sega Genesis and running into the refs was always fun. I traded a Patrick Roy hockey card just to rent this from my buddy for two weeks. He was such an asshole but loved those games and was finally able to pick them up. WWF Raw on Sega was a big favorite of my buddies and I as we had some great four player action with that. Saturday Night Slam Masters was another great four player game. There was a character named Jumbo which had a bullshit repeated stomp that led to a ban similar to Odd Job in Goldeneye for N64. The Smackdown games on Playstation had some good match variations but never felt they had the same fun as the N64 games. Pro Wrestling Fire is fantastic if you love your Puro guys as had tons of wrestlers and plenty of match types.

Dave Meltzer stuff
What is the last big wrestling show Dave appeared at in person? He seems all over UFC shows but not so much for wrestling. I feel like he should at least be showing up at WrestleMania.
