[1991-09-07-WCW-Saturday Night] Control Center
Luger and Simmons is main event for Havoc with two out of three falls stipulation. I must have missed that one from previous contract signing. Clip from Omni of Luger piledriving Simmons on chair to win match. Missy is a heel again being charmed by Lex and wanting nothing to do with Simmons barging in on her interview.

[1991-09-07-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler and Eric Embry
Lawler is world champion again. I just want to see Dragon Master in the ring but again we get no clips. Miss Texas has a shaved head. Embry ends up hitting Pritchard by mistake causing him to lose. Embry and Pritchard have a big verbal spat that looks to get physical but surprisingly doesn’t.

[1991-09-06-CMLL] Konnan vs Perro Aguayo vs Cien Caras (Hair vs Hair vs Hair)
I did not get the rules much as I watched. From reading above the whole taking the first fall and then sit on the second fall reminds me of major soccer tournaments where guys with a certain amount of yellow cards will intentionally get another to sit out a meaningless game if they already qualified for next round. I had thought Konnan was eliminated for good so him coming back was disappointing. He really needed to lose and get that hair cut.

[1991-09-05-WCW-Clash of the Champions XVI] Contract Signing: Lex Luger vs Ron Simmons
They are really pushing Simmons hard. Someone with positive attitude being there for the kids. Luger makes a late arrival to contract signing. Lex talks about Simmons becoming the first black world heavyweight champion. But he’s not being genuine as he offers a position to Simmons of being his driver instead. Simmons flies into a fury and goes after Luger. At least they are trying to establish Simmons as a challenger.

[1991-09-05-WCW-Clash of the Champions XVI] Sting vs Johnny B. Badd
Sting seems to be in the mid card at this point. He’s losing to Koloff and now squeaking out pinfalls against someone like Badd who is not established yet. There is a big box on the ramp that gets everyone’s attention. Cactus attacks Sting including the elbow to the floor outside. We didn’t actually see Cactus come out of the box. Cactus will make for Sting’s best opponent in a while.

[1991-09-05-WCW-Clash of the Champions XVI] Brian Pillman vs Badstreet
Pillman returns and he was doing about everything out there to establish the new division. Dangerous looking suplex to outside with Pillman smacking his back into ring apron and Badstreet almost landing on his head. Pillman then flies not once but twice into the guardrail. The second one was pretty crazy especially when they show the slow motion replay after match. Fun match and yes the crowd was noticeably into it.

[1991-09-04-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Stan Hansen vs Kenta Kobashi
What a start with Hansen hitting the lariat before the match even starts. Kobashi takes a powerbomb right on the floor. Tough opening stretch to match for him. He gets a table thrown at him too. He’s taking a big beating. He shows great spirit fighting back and really testing Stan towards the end. Excellent match.

[1991-09-04-AJPW-Summer Action Series II] Mitsuharu Misawa & Toshiaki Kawada vs Jumbo Tsuruta & Akira Taue
Taue gets booed every time he tags in. He seems to get the most heel reaction of anyone in AJPW. Misawa gets treatment on his shoulder which leaves Kawada alone for a while. Misawa looks strong kicking out of some big moves. He already lost to Jumbo during the year and his wins over Gordy weren’t very convincing so this was a big win to get Jumbo to submit in the middle of the ring. Nice ending to good match. Misawa continues his climb towards 92.

[1991-08-31-WWF-Superstars] Funeral Parlor: Bobby Heenan
Even Paul Bearer recognizes the journalistic skills of Bobby Heenan. Brain has Flair’s belt. Bobby runs down Hogan as champion. Heenan takes some shots at Piper which is just going to make Flair’s plate full having to deal with both Hogan and Piper. There was a crowd shot that seemed totally out of place. Piper confronts Heenan and ends up spitting on the belt and throwing it down on floor. More disrespect of belt.
