[1991-06-22-USWA-Memphis TV] Chris Candido & Don Cha Mang vs Rob Zakowski & Danny Davis
Didn’t recognize RVD and Nishimura at first. Fun to see all these guys back in 91. RVD with the split legged moonsault. Nice little match. Embry giving some advice to RVD to get a mean streak. RVD talks crap and then turns his back. Dumb move.

[1991-06-22-USWA-Memphis TV] Eric Embry and Eddie Marlin
Embry has a short temper as he attacks Marlin pretty quickly and then gets puts his hands on Michael St. John. Marlin popped up a big too quick from this but he has something to say. He wants to fire Embry but Lawler wants a match first. Great build to match.

[1991-06-22-USWA-Memphis TV] Jerry Lawler vs Eric Embry
Oh no! Embry is on crutches. He’s a severe sprained ankle. Lawler is not buying it and thinks Eric is a coward. Embry volunteers Pritchard to face Lawler. Embry’s ankle heels mid segment and he attacks Lawler with the crutch. A tease for future match. Glad they held off as TV match at this point would be too soon.

[1991-06-22-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
Loved Embry on the house mic during the Lawler/Leatherface match. Leatherface looked like a convincing monster. Lawler survives but Embry attacks him right away and beats on him for most of the three extra minutes. Even though Lawler gets the advantage towards the end he is not satisfied and wants more. Eddie Marlin makes Lawler versus Embry on TV match.

[1991-06-15-WCW-Saturday Night] Fabulous Freebirds & Badstreet vs Young Pistols & Dustin Rhodes
I had just watched Clash match from a day before that didn’t make yearbook. Of course that one was rushed like rest of that show. Big entourage for The Freebirds. DDP disappears once the match starts. Showing the proper count to Patrick was hilarious with him going along with it. Badstreet sells avoiding a Hayes misfire punch by flying outside through the ropes. I’m not much for stalling but I do give credit to the Freebirds for working it throughout the match and not just at the beginning.

[1991-06-15-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: The Hardliners
Murdoch gets to the point as they are here for blood, money and to win the titles. Not sure how they match up with a team like the Steiners.

[1991-06-14-WCW-Clash of the Champions XV] Ric Flair vs Bobby Eaton (2/3 falls)
Flair got a haircut. I thought they were going fine in the first fall and I liked it. I was expecting something in the 25 minute range with the two out of three falls stipulation. Second and third falls ends up being rushed which takes match down. Too bad. Camera’s missed Eaton winning the TV title and his big match with Flair ends up being cut down for time restraints.

[1991-06-14-WCW-Clash of the Champions XV] Rick & Scott Steiner vs Masa Chono & Hiroshi Hase
Ross’ comment about Hase being the leader of the team caught me off guard. Chono steps in. Scott had a stretch in match where he came in ring and walked past his brother being put in the STF by Chono. He went back to apron and then decided to try break up submission. Him and Hase go to the outside and he spends time hitting a suplex on Hase. Scott finishes this sequence off by climbing to top rope to break up the STF but completely missing the landing. Match was fun while it lasted. Hardliners attack Steiners after but they cut out early to go to commercial break.

[1991-06-14-WCW-Clash of the Champions XV] Barry Windham & Arn Anderson vs Brian Pillman & El Gigante
Loser of the pinfall is out of WCW. Gigante never even tags in which is smart of him to not risk his WCW career. Really rushed match with Pillman losing. I guess they felt since they wouldn’t honor the stips, they weren’t going to give them much time. Pillman being out of WCW is given little thought.
