[1996-03-24-WCW-Uncensored] Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage vs Ric Flair & Arn Anderson & Meng & Barbarian & Lex Luger & Kevin Sullivan & Ze Gangsta & Ultimate Solution (Triple Cage Tower of Doom)
It's always awesome seeing Zeus. His only other Yearbook appearance was 7/7/90. He'd put on some weight but his wrestling ability was as good as ever. There was so much to appreciate here. The amazingly bad wrestling, the confusion over the rules, Zeus, the deadly frying pans, the Final Solution, Zeus, 2 men beating 8 in a handicap match, Flair being the one to do the job, Zeus. A Wrestlecrap goldmine.

[1996-04-08-WWF-Raw] Interview: Ultimate Warrior
It was cool to see the Warrior back and cutting his unique style of promo. Clearly upset at being outdone in this department Goldust comes out and starts a feud.

Sunny looked great, and this was in the days before they had scantily clad Divas on ever show.

[1996-02-05-WWF-Raw] Billionaire Ted skit
These skits do a great job of putting across what a disgusting person Vince is. I mean Ted.

Seeing these segments makes me wish they had put the WWF out of business.

[1996-01-22-WWF-Raw] Vader vs Savio Vega
A fantastic debut for Vader. Firstly he crushes Savio and then goes on a rampage. He was an out of control monster. I loved the stuff with Gorilla. When he's on commentary it's easy to forget that he used to be a wrestler. In the ring you can see what a huge guy he was.

[1996-01-21-WWF-Royal Rumble] Royal Rumble
Just in the JIP version here Shawn flying over the top rope and holding on got real old. He was like a human pinball. The crowd was as dead as I've ever heard in the latter stages of the Rumble. Bad camerawork missing eliminations. Undercarders with terrible gimmicks that nobody gave a shit about. To round it off the final 4 was over in seconds with absolutely no drama. Dreadful.

[1996-01-15-WWF-Raw] Razor Ramon and Goldust
This was wild. Not the sort of thing they should be doing though, as it would be so easy for a wrestler to injure himself slipping about in the snow.

[1996-01-01-WWF-Raw] Smoking Gunns vs Psycho Sid & 1-2-3 Kid vs Razor Ramon & Savio Vega vs Owen Hart & Yokozuna (Raw Bowl)
If they'd just done this once a year then Vince would've got his fix and wouldn't have had to waste all those millions on the XFL. Also the commentary wasn't too different to early 90's JR doing a Ron Simmons vs Brian Pillman match for instance.

[1993-08-13-UWFi-Fight of Champions] Vader vs Kazuo Yamazaki
A fitting way to round off a fabulous UWFI show at Da Budokan. Three matches on the Yearbook and the rest of the show was enjoyable too. You wouldn't have to be a shoot style fan to enjoy this. It was done with the emphasis on psychology and entertainment. Strikes all the way as the monster dominates early, before the underdog comes firing back. Yamazaki gave Vader a test, but the American still went over strong to build him up as the unstoppable force. Only 6m but super heated and plenty of fun.

[1993-08-13-UWFi-Fight of Champions] Yoji Anjo vs Naoki Sano
Hot start-o as they showed some skilled techniques in the early skirmishes. Always nice to have a bit of spice to the rivalry too, which wasn't hard to create when Anjoh was in there. They settled into a groove with a nice balance to the work. The quality remained good but 20m was a bit too long. It drifted in and out with intermittent excitement. I wouldn't put this with the best UWFI matches, but it was the best bout of this excellent show. I certainly wouldn't object to seeing a rematch.

[1993-08-13-UWFi-Fight of Champions] Gene Lydick vs Yoshihiro Takayama
What a finish! I have to start at the end because it transformed a decent but forgettable midcard encounter into something memorable. It did get off to a promising start and gave themselves the base to build a good match off. Neither man had the technical skills to take it to that level however, and it was starting to drift away. Then all of a sudden Takayama nails a brutal knee strike and Lydick barely makes the count. This was like two lion's had been unleashed. Both were infused with wild bestial instinct! Lydick came roaring back and swiftly downed his prey. A thrilling final minute.

[1993-08-20-AJPW-Summer Action Series] Doug Furnas & Dan Kroffat vs Kenta Kobashi & Satoru Asako
Whenever I think of Asako the two things that come to mind are green trunks and bloody mouth. It would be nice to see the whole of this. Maybe it was really good before the JIP or the fans were just exceptionally generous. It had it's moments but also a couple of badly blown spots and a couple of poor move choices at the finish.
