[1992-10-25-WCW-Halloween Havoc] Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes vs Steve Austin & Steve Williams
This had a lot of bright spots -- Dustin & Williams working together early, Windham being sneaky quick and agile for a guy his size, and Dustin's offense following the hot tag. Unfortunately these moments were built around an unnecessarily long match. Would've been a lot better with 10-12 minutes chopped off and a finish. **3/4

[1992-10-25-WCW-Halloween Havoc] Ricky Steamboat vs Brian Pillman
How about the ECW straw hat in the first row? I enjoyed Pillman's work as a heel quite a bit here, even this early. Not as strong as the tag on main event, but a solid undercard match. Steamboat's offense when working as a methodical technician versus rapid fire intensity is night and day. When he's motivated on that side of the ball its a hell of a show. **3/4

[1992-10-25-WCW-Main Event] Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas vs Steve Austin & Brian Pillman
The debut of the not quite yet Hollywood Blondes. Austin's work as a heel is so much better and more focused than than earlier in the year. Douglas/Steamboat work very well together with some nice double teams early on, while Pillman is such a natural heel. Good formulaic tag with alternating FIPs and basic heel tactics. Pillman throws Douglas over the top for a DQ. The inconclusive finish is fine given this was going to be an extended feud, evne if they didn't know it yet.. ***1/4

Love the band playing in a ring. Presumably he had a lot of fun with this.

[1992-10-24-USWA-TV] The Moondogs and Jerry Lawler and Eddie Gilbert
Moondogs & Lee out for a brawl in the ring with a couple jobbers before Eddie Gilbert, Lawler & Jarrett are out to attack Moondogs and a masked man. Adding Gilbert to the mix certainly freshens it up a bit. Eddie Marlin says Gilbert will now be in 6 man tags with Lawler & Jarrett. Then a tag match w/ Lawler/Jarrett vs. Scorpion & someone. Moondogs attack right away, and Eddie is out for the save with a fire extinguisher.

[1992-10-24-USWA-TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler & Jeff Jarrett
Todd Champion is there with some title belt, which isn't a good look for Lawler & Jarrett. Clips of Moondogs & Lee vs. Lawler/Jarrett where JYD apparently no showed so Doug Gilbert stepped in and was injured with a bone shot.

[1992-10-24-USWA-TV] Brian Christopher vs Danny Davis
Promo apparently setting up a Chicken challenge. Christopher is a hell of a whiny heel. There's a place for him as an undercard heel. Loser takes a dozen eggs to the face. Decent studio match where crowd sounds more into it than it looks. Davis wins and ringside kids love it. Then Davis & 11 fans crack eggs on Christopher's head. Christopher challenges Davis to a LLT match next week. Not great TV.

[1992-10-24-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Ultimate Maniacs
Warrior is really insane, his mannerisms look like he should be locked up. They're at least on message and repeatedly hyping Survivor Series.

[1992-10-23-UWFi-Combat Sport] Kiyoshi Tamura vs Kazuo Yamazaki
This was something to see, just super fast and fluid matwork with rapid fire counters and sequences from spot to spot. Tamura finds a ton of submissions that all flow from the work on the mat. One awesome sequence early saw Tamura turn a Yamazaki kick into an awesome single leg throw, then follow with a submission attempt and an enzuigiri. You can't do justice to how smooth and seamless everything was. Felt like a big win for Tamura. Really great shoot style. ****

[1992-10-21-AJPW-October Giant Series] Mitsuharu Misawa vs Toshiaki Kawada
Such an historic match, and its just as great today as the first time I saw it. They'd certainly top it but they set the bar incredibly high from the start, and worked this very differently coming in as partners rather than rivals. Some of my favorite moments: * Kawada's backdrop suplex off of the initial lock up shows he means business right away. * Misawa's work on Kawada's legs. * The story that as much as Kawada has his big guns -- the power bomb, stretch plum and lariat -- Misawa is the champion and simply has more bombs to throw. By my count he had to bust out multiple elbows, a facelock, 2 tiger drivers and 2 tiger suplexes to secure the win. This would make for a terrific climax to most feuds, and here its just the first face off. ****1/2

[1992-10-21-NJPW-Super Grade Tag League] Riki Choshu & Shinya Hashimoto vs Hiroshi Hase & Kensuke Sasaki
Very good tag action here. Great early slap exchange b/w Hash & Sasaki before a lariat takes Hash down. Hash's offense is far & away the best in NJ, with great pacing, impact & selling. He's always working in close quarters and doesn't hold back and as a result is looks awesome. Hase retaping his knee mid-match is a nice touch. Pop for Sasaki enzuigiri bringing Hash down to one knee, which prompts Choshu to level Hase on the apron. Sasaki goes for power bomb on Choshu, Hash kicks him a few times to break it up. Solid finish with Hash & Choshu working together to take out Sasaki. Really good, fun match that never felt slow. ****

[1992-10-17-WCW-Saturday Night] Up Close w/Paul E. Dangerously
Paul talks about his absence lately but he's still the Dangerous Alliance. He signed an open contract for a Rude US Title match at Havoc even though he also has a match against Chono. Seems to be setting up a Rude face turn. Says he's the reason for Rude's success, not Madusa. Schiavonie says Rude has called for a meeting with Paul. If I recall correctly, Watts had a problem with Paul's guaranteed contract which was paying him more than a lot of wrestlers, and went out of his way to make life miserable for him to try and find a way around that expense.

[1992-10-17-SMW-TV] Rock & Roll Express and Mama Cornette
RNR promise finally delivering a picture of Mama Cornette. Then Dutch interviews Cornette, who says its illegal to show a picture of his mother, and that they'll be collecting the bounty on Brian Lee and taking RNR out as well. Pritchard was definitely underrated on the mic and more than held his own there. The payoff is a photo of a dog with glasses and curlers as Mama Cornette. Bodies & Cornette chase them off and want a match with the RNR, Armstrong says they can have it but it has to be a title match. Cornette says its fine and Bodies object a bit. This was basic, great booking. Then Cornette backstage. You know what you get when you cross a pig with a woman from Beckley? Nothing, there are some things even a pig won't do.

[1992-10-17-WWF-Superstars] Update: The Ultimate Maniacs and more
Lord Al Hayes cuts us to an Ultimate Maniacs promo, where Warrior looks to be having a seizure. Then Flair, Razor & Perfect with a promo also promoting Survivor Series. Wasn't this airing after Warrior & DBS were axed, because that happened before the decision to put the belt on Hart? Razor was really great on the stick.

[1992-10-17-WWF-Superstars] Interview: Bret Hart
Hart promo after winning the title, apparently taped the same night. Thanks fans, family, Flair, talks extensively about his wrestling ability and training with his father. Definitely a change in tune from the top faces before that.

[1992-10-17-UWA] Silver King & El Texano & Gran Hamada vs El Signo & Black Power & Negro Navarro
I did not dig this very much at all. This was pretty good when Hamada was in, and too much like an exhibition when he wasn't. The first fall had a hot finishing sequence, the second was predictable and predictably quick, while the third had a terribly anticlimactic finish. Too long for what they did even if the work wasn't bad, just not particularly captivating. **3/4

[1992-10-17-AJPW-October Giant Series] Mitsuharu Misawa & Kenta Kobashi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi vs Jumbo Tsuruta & Akira Taue & Yoshinari Ogawa
The crowd is super hot from the intros, with a completely different kind of electricicty when Jumbo tags in to face Misawa. I thought Taue was less prominent here than was typical for him this year. This feels subpar for a 1992 AJPW 6 man, which means its still superior to your run of the mill elsewhere, but falls far below expectations. Definitely the Kikuchi show as he sells a ton for Jumbo & Taue before hot tagging Misawa. Ogawa then gets to throw some offense on Misawa & Kobashi, who's out there with an incredibly awful looking bruise the back of his thigh. ***3/4
