I watched Vader vs. Sting from the Bash on the '92 Yearbook yesterday and it really is remarkable how much better their matches are than with anyone else. Somehow they just never clicked with anyone else the way they did with each other. Vader sells Sting's offense as a giant killer -- but only when he has to. Sells his chops, lariats and punches as killer while sending him to the floor, but he's not out there playing the bitch (don't shoot me, it was too easy). He regroups on the floor or counters with a power move and is back to dominating before being put over strong. -
Agreed, they present a great show. IVP's great too, my go to for anything I don't get online and he's got a lot available for download now as well.

If you can get your hands on them, I think its worth checking out all of the iPPV's since last September, which was a solid show with fun, varied action up and down the lineup with nothing bad. October featured Tanahashi vs. Suzuki which I thought was as good as any match last year. November had a better main event than September but a similarly fun show that never gets old. December was the tag tourney final and more of a set up for the Tokyo Dome show than anything else but certainly not offensive. January at the Dome was fun, with Tanahashi/Okada being their weakest match yet but by no means bad, something great and different in Nakamura/Sakuraba, Nagata vs. Suzuki which can't be bad as I don't mind Nagata and love Suzuki. Some folks went gaga for the IWGP Jr. title 3-way and while I didn't find it particularly memorable, it was still a fun spotfest that fit in well on this card. I'm waiting to get my hands on the April one which also sounded great. For me, their shows over the last year or 2 have been very enjoyable and easy to sit through. Its presented more seriously than anything domestic and the wrestling is never bad even when not great. You've got a ton of different workers throughout the card with distinct characters and its a great way to pass a couple hours.

Cosign, it was definitely uncomfortable at times but they got around that with some phenomenal storytelling and selling. Loved the work on the fingers and hand there. Like a modern day WMC studio match.

I know this is the Jeff Hardy thread and Henry has his own, but I don't remember digging Henry during his early years. Absolutely have to go back and rewatch some of that now.

Forget constructing a new HOF. If they throw a little money into some professional displays they could turn that warehouse into something that dwarfs Cooperstown. Looks like an absolute goldmine.

Great quick tagging by both teams early and a neat sequence of dives. After that this felt like the worst of good AJW -- even less focus than usual and not nearly as many high spots as usual. Someone would try something in the ring, be it a submission or top rope move, it'd lead to the outside and a dive to the floor. But nothing here felt special or memorable in any way. ***

Arn's stooging and his and Eaton's bumping really made the early portions of this match. They're just such pros. Zbyszko eats the first fall and instrumental in Arn losing the third, though I don't recall any big payoff to his taking all this heat. Unlike most weekly main events, the 2/3 falls stip served a purpose in the story. This group had better matches earlier in the year though. ***1/4

Somehow in going through the month's threads I skipped over the likely MOTY to this point. Not a ton to add here as most has been covered quite thoroughly. I thought this match featured some of the better heel work that I've seen from Jumbo & co., as they dialed up the antics here quite a bit -- i.e. during Misawa's extended FIP run, Taue ramming Misawa against the turnbuckle and then quickly tagging in Fuchi like a third down sack specialist to brutalize a dazed QB, grinding his boot into him. On the other side you had Kawada flipping out, staring down and raising a middle finger at Jumbo's squad when he's in there. His performance here solidified him as one of the year's standout individual performers along with Negro Casas. The finish was great and felt huge too. Try me tomorrow and I may go full monty on this one. ****3/4

We can definitely get a good idea of what guys in UFC make short of precise headline bonuses, but can't begin to speculate on the costs associated with their training camps and related expenses.

Not a whole lot to add here as Loss not only gave a great summary of the match, he really made it feel like an all time classic. Gary Michael Cappetta reading rules beforehand made this feel extra big. The Windham/Austin opener was great, set the tone and started the blood which was flowing the way it should in a violent culmination like this. Hats off especially to Austin and Rhodes for their juice jobs. So many great, memorable spots, from Steamboat coming in on fire, Arn absolutely cleaning out upon arriving and being part of a double crab on Steamer. Sting climbing the cage to counter Madusa was a great visual, as was Paul E working with his diagram of the ring. Nikita's trust spot with Sting and Larry being part of the finish capped off a great half hour of brutality and storytelling. Just a phenomenal spectacle. Probably my WCW match of the year, but we'll see if Sting/Vader has anything to say about it. Only mark against it is that the camera basically missed the finish. ****1/2

For some reason they're not using the same ring as Pillman & Zenk. Maybe because they were told to work with a fresh scene for the CSIs? The stiffness begins with a lariat by Scott to Fujinami. Iizuka Then Rick breaks Iizuka's face with a knee from the top while Scott holds him up. Just a brutal spectacle that may be uncomfortable at times but is still riveting pro wrestling. You'd hope to see bullies like this get the favor returned but how often does that happen? ***3/4
