GOAT at WrestleMania
HBK is pretty firmly #1 but Taker and Rock also have strong resumes.

Reid Flair dead at 24
I completely get that. My point is simply that a 25 year old kid is dead, and his parents' and family's world has been destroyed. Not much else is relevant at this point.

The point remains that even though I don't know your mom, if I know she exists she deserves a certain level of compassion and sympathy that goes beyond your workrate.

Reid Flair dead at 24
Thank you. This "the board is called PWO so let's examine star ratings and psychology and forget the fact that a couple of parents are burying their child any day now" attitude just doesn't sit well with me. Forget making excuses for anyone's behavior. Its an awful situation and one that no one should go through. Is it really asking so much to respect the dead a few days after their passing? Save the workrate debates for another day with respect to those individuals.

The People Who Are Going to WrestleMania 29 Thread
I'll be at Mania with a couple friends. Was thinking about trying to stop by the WON get together on Friday afternoon but that would require cutting out of work pretty early so I'm not optimistic. Anything worthwhile going on Saturday that I don't need tix for?

Reid Flair dead at 24
Who cares if he was a good worker or whether his death was drug related, suicide, natural or something else? When you've got parents that have to bury their child I'm not sure what else is relevant.

Reid Flair dead at 24
Jesus what a tragedy. I know Reid had his demons but from all reports he'd been doing well in Japan recently. Just beyond terrible for any parent.

This. Just because a concept is simple doesn't mean someone doesn't deserve credit for executing it. Especially when countless others failed to do so.

PWO Radio
Nice! This sounds awesome. Really looking forward to it. Can always bang out episodes that look at classic feuds, matches, an extension of the thread talking about individual wrestlers' best matches, and probably a ton of other random topics that lend themselves to lengthy discussions.

Wrestling Culture Episode 38
Really enjoyed listening to this. Stevie sounded like a pretty decent guy who appreciates his fans. A shame to see the Extreme Rising shows over Mania weekend were cancelled. I was thinking about going after listening to this.

Dave Meltzer stuff
For those that subscribe online, what format is the Observer delivered each week If its clean and easy to print and save I'd consider switching from my print subscription to online.

The Road to Wrestlemania
I imagine the appearance as booked by the movie people who thus can likely dictate what topics will be covered on his appearance. Don't think Rock has much say in that.

One of those issues that pops up every year or 2 where I can skim most of it. Oh well.

[1992-04-19-NJPW-Explosion Tour: Top of the Super Juniors] Jushin Liger vs Eddy Guerrero
Definitely a letdown given who was involved. This felt pretty by the numbers with nothing spectacular. Eddy delivered a great dropkick, while it looked like Liger was poorly positioned and didn't do a great job catching Eddy on his dive. Liger's half-standing/kneeling submission was a really creative finish I haven't seen before. **3/4

[1992-04-06-AJPW-Championship Carnival] Stan Hansen vs Toshiaki Kawada
Who says All Japan didn't feature great brawling? Just awesome, wild strikes from both here throughout the match. Hansen sold his knee like a champ and on the comeback delivers a sick power bomb to Kawada on floor. Interesting how they each used missed elbows as transitions in succession. Kawada slams Hansen on the floor and gives a diving elbow off the apron to the outside, after which point the crowd treats all of Kawada's offense as a potential finish. Kawada eats another bump on the floor, taking a bodyslam this time. After countering two attempted lariats, Kawada eats the third for the finish. This stuff does not age. Its just awesome. ****1/4

[1992-04-18-WCW-Saturday Night ] Fabulous Freebirds concert
Hayes actually looks legit and not completely out of place in this setting, even if the whole thing is absurd. Garvin? Not so much. Where did they find these people are who featured? How much money did they spend on this? Why isn't this universally panned as a colossal waste of financial and creative resources as the White Castle of Fear and other similar videos from a year later? So many questions coming out of this. Fortunately not much time would go into answering them.

[1992-04-18-WCW-Saturday Night] Interview: Sting
Love the pink outfit. Really befitting a world champion. As is showing up without a world championship belt. Little things do matter. Already settinguip the Vader match which wouldn't headline until July. The production & lighting here feel really minor league.

Jarrett delivers on the mic with an effective promo setting up a cage match at the MSC, calling back to his dad potentially losing his vision in reference to what the heels did to Embry.

I liked this better when I thought it was going to be a new Moondog named Hunter.

[1992-04-18-USWA-TV] Jerry Lawler & Jeff Jarrett & Eric Embry vs Moondog Spike & Richard Lee & Cujo / Interview: Eddie Marlin, Jerry Lawler & Jeff Jarrett
Yes! They had a great closeup of his scarred eyes and as a kid who never had access to Memphis tv it was quite the impression. This was an awesome brawl, with Embry in particular going crazy with a board and garbage can on Spot, and the others working in chains and weapons all around. After Lawler pins Lee, the Moondogs throw acid in Embry's eyes and he does an incredible job selling it. Pretty awesome how quickly he went from a big time to heel to the lead face in the company's #1 feud in short order. Afterwards Eddie Marlin delivers a simple promo that he won't fire the Moondogs because that would paint his babyfaces as cowards. Simple, effective and believable.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Sad to see Moondog Spike passed away. I'm watching the '92 Yearbook at this time and they were a truly unique, special team. http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-sto...son-passes-away
