Current New Japan
I can't say the lineup released earlier this week blew me away, but I'm very excited to head to the Hammerstein show tonight. Tanahashi & RNR should be a blast, the main event has potential if everyone goes hard and the young lion matches look pretty fun as well.

WWE TV 09/23 - 09/29 Necropolitics are in vogue
Daniel Bryan popped in to remind everyone that he's still one of the best wrestlers alive, and delivered Erick Rowan's career match.

Kenny Omega: "If [NXT] guys were in the same show as me, they'd be in the dark match. They'd be in the opening match of my main event match."
While I haven't watched it, from what I've read I don't see any controversy or real story to this Omega business. Its a wrestling character cutting a promo. On the other hand, if I were Kenny Omega and AEW I would be concerned that the guy who was arguably the company's biggest name at launch is currently little more than afterthought. Perhaps they're waiting for TV to make him matter, but year to date he hasn't been involved in anything particularly interesting or in any way felt like someone I need to pay to see.

WWE Clash of Champions
Presumably 5. 4.5 minimum as with that many matches I can't see this ending before 10:30, and its not like we've got a Brock match guaranteed to go short in the main event position. On paper this looks like a show that could really deliver. Orton/Kofi and Nakamura/Miz are the only matches that either don't interest me or have potential to be good. I don't expect everything else to deliver, but when a show with that many opportunities to do so is a welcomed addition to the schedule. Just don't remind me I still need to catch up today's NJPW Destruction show and tomorrow's at some point this week.

California legislature passes AB5 gig-work bill, which could turn contractors into employees
Has there been any confirmation that this bill applies to WWE, AEW, NJPW or any other promotion not based in California? Headlines are juicy but absent concrete information about its applicability to specific companies any such discussion seems premature.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Fuck, that's awful. I hope there's somehow a strong recovery ahead for him.

WWE TV 02/09 - 08/09 Being so busy you can't keep up with the news is Actually Good
Late to the party here, but I thought the Bayley heel turn and follow up on Smackdown were pretty great. Coming out with the same music/props she did as a face doesn't seem like a fit, but she avoided slapping hands with any fans on Smackdown so hopefully that continues in the right direction. Becky/Charlotte vs. Sasha/Baley tomorrow night is absolutely a rush, but I won't worry about that unless its a lengthy match rather than a pure storytelling device heading into the PPV.

AAA Invading NY....the card so far....
I'll certainly consider going if there's zero market for the show and great seats are out there at absurdly low prices. Otherwise not really worth a Sunday night out.

WWF TV Shows 1970s to early 1990s (pre-Raw)
This is really great. I started watching during the era of Superstars/Challenge in syndication and eventually Prime Time once we got cable, and while I've watched pieces of the others over the years on the Network and whatnot, never really had a sense of how they all fit in the hierarchy. Did the shows build to any big climaxes or blowoffs in the pre-PPV era? Would they cross promote and acknowledge each other in some sense, or did each show exist in its own vacuum?

Current Lucha Talk
Is there anything appealing on that lineup? I pop in every now and then if a match is gets any buzz outside of hardcore lucha followers, but on paper it reads like a card sold solely based on the name.

[2019-08-09-wXw-Toronto] WALTER vs Daisuke Sekimoto
This may have been one of the most disappointing matches of the year. It wasn't bad, but it almost seemed as though both knew they had bigger matches in front of bigger crowds ahead and were looking to go through the motions here. The intensity and stiffness kept it from being a waste of time, but it was a far cry from Mike Elgin's matches in BJW later in the month or even a typical Walter affair.

AEW All Out
This is very much a match show for me as I'm looking forward to Omega/Pac and Riho/Shida, while Cody/Spears could be good and should at worst be interesting as that's been the floor for everything Cody's touched here. The rest of the card isn't offensive but doesn't exactly get me excited. Hopefully they hit pause on this Ace Page idea as there's nothing about him at the moment that suggests he should be the face of the company, while Jericho's name and aura lead to a lot more possibilities to kick off TV.

Triplemania XXVII Tonight!
I'm halfway through the show and find it a really fun watch. Everything thus far has been fun in one form or another with the showcase flying matches the standouts to this point. Even their rumble, which sounded like a mess on paper, had enough going on that it was never boring. Not sure how I'd feel if I had to watch it in one sitting as opposed to over the course of a week, but its the most fun I've had watching a full lucha show in some time. LA Park needs to stop stealing the minis' ties.

WWE TV 08/05 - 08/11 Comedy can truly help in dark times
I haven't read the WON yet and don't know if its been touched upon, but why is Ziggler the name out of all on the roster who got a PPV match with Goldberg? Hasn't he done nothing all year?
