Wrestlemania 35: The KawadaSmile tribute thread
When Flair doesn't even get a pop you know a crowd is dead. Hopefully the main comes on before everyone falls asleep.

Does this match end by 12?

Matt Riddle wins.

As much as I enjoyed that, and would have even more on a show that isn't longer than a leap year, its a shame to think that Cena is here for unadvertised comedy spots rather than a featured attraction like Batista on his appearances in '14 or this year, let alone what Rock's returns were like.

Its 10:05. We've got Roman/Drew, Hunter/Batista, Angle/Corbin, Balor/Lashley, potential Cena and Undertaker appearances, a musical act and the main event still to come. Does this even finish by 1AM?

There was talk Rey was injured earlier this week so perhaps this was their way around that.

If we're lucky. My thoughts as well. Perhaps it was dumb, but that Hall & Nash bit was the type of cameo and comedy I can work with. Quick and nostalgic.

Just fantastic. Between Gargano on Friday, this and the likely close of the show they're going to legitimately send people home happy. So simple and terrific. Woods & E being so beyond happy for him and celebrating with Kofi's kids is just fantastic.

So this match was solidly unspectacular until that bump into the table and Bryan's heat segment. I like how aggressively he's working it as opposed to letting Kofi's selling take center stage. That couter/counter spot ending with the Boston Crab was terrific.

HIGH FIVE.

We have out first big winner of the evening.

I've liked everything on the show up to this point so we were due for an extended bathroom break. This would be it.

Wrestlemania 35: The KawadaSmile tribute thread
Don't worry. We've also got a couple musical performances and every video package from the last month of TV to bookend matches. Plus the possibility of Undertaker killing clock with a long walk in another football stadium.

I thought Orton/Styles was very, very good for a Randy Orton match. Smackdown tag was fun with everyone getting a chance to look strong, but it probably ran a bit long. 6 down, 10 to go.

Wrestlemania 35: The KawadaSmile tribute thread
Well that was quick and decisive, and very much exceeded expectations. I liked it! 6 hours to go!

We're going cream tonight. How's the vanilla gimmick?

The baby is bathed, changed, fed and now in mom's hands for the rest of the night. I've begun consuming what will hopefully be an absurd amount of bad calories. Soda is cold and in supply. LET'S DO THIS, PEOPLE. Doesn't sound like the CW opener or women's battle royal were anything all that special, and Revival/Job Squad thus far feels right out of Main Event. I'm counting on everyone to get me through these next 6? 7? 8? hours.

NXT Takeover: New York
Couldn't agree more. Has anything approached this since Bryan at Mania 30?

NXT Takeover: New York
That post-match was tremendous as well, even with the production miscue. Just magnificent wrestling and storytelling.

NXT Takeover: New York
If that were a one fall match it just might've been a MOTYC. That third fall was so fantastic it almost overcame the first two falls which were just there, and a second fall finish that sucked. But wow were those last 20 minutes phenomenal.

NXT Takeover: New York
Ha it happens. I just expected the incredible match that many seemed to see, and instead got a very good 3.5-3.75 affair.
-
NXT Takeover: New York
Perhaps I'm in the minority but that was a far cry from either of the first two matches. Too balanced and back & forth as opposed to letting either man, particularly Walter, establish a real run. It was a stiff and strong match but didn't come close to expectations.

NXT Takeover: New York
This show is out of this world through 2 matches. Dream/Riddle was just there for the first half, but absolutely tore the place apart in the back.

NXT Takeover: New York
War Raiders would be a lock for my tag team of the year if they even had one big match a month to showcase their stuff. Such chemistry together and on their own, and manage to work big and small while always making their opponents look like real competition regardless of their size. Just phenomenal.

Wrestlemania 35 - Voluntary Colonization
Kawada, can you at least pop into the thread that day to drop some Brazilian hot takes here? Its vital on Mondays so no clue how a 7-8 hour Mania is going to fare without it.
