[2019-04-04-AJPW-Champion Carnival, Night One] Yuji Okabayashi vs Shuji Ishikawa
Exactly what you want from these two. A simple story to start, Shuji suplexes Yuji on the apron fucking up his mid section, giving him a target to hit every cut off spot he needs to keep control, and it also puts a large mountain Okabayashi has to climb to turn things around. Strikes are vicious in this, specially when compared to the rest of the show, this really was on another level. This had 2 suplex no sells by Yuji that would normally take me out of the match, but the fact that he was groggy for like 2 minutes and Ishikawa was still on top - which lead to an awesome struggle for control/test of strength segment - made up for the kind of excess I'm not a fan of. A think the only fault this match had was that it was 3 minutes too long, the final sequence was a little clunky and the crowd felt it. They were able to bring them back for the actual finish though. Awesome main event.

WWE TV 04/01 - 04/08: The Brazilian Military Dictatorship started in April Fools'...
Fucking LOVED Kofi turning things around on Bryan and pretty much saying that he knows that Kofi has DB's 2014 momentum...and Bryan knows that means he's gonna lose at Mania. Kofi's resolve and D-Bry's fear/disbelief sold that story so well. Only Vince being a moron will stop this match from being fucking amazing, can't wait for it...it's the only match that bums me out that I won't be able to watch live.

Current New Japan
BTW, not that anyone would care at this point but Elgin is out of New Japan. His contract didn't renew and it ended in March.

Current New Japan
Okada's entrance at MSG has a shot of being the best of the whole weekend. As much as I bitch and moan about the same shit being booked over and over again, seeing him have a hero's welcome and being immensely over, with everyone wanting to see him get the belt of White, will be really fucking fun to watch.

WWE TV 04/01 - 04/08: The Brazilian Military Dictatorship started in April Fools'...
I guess no one watches John Oliver around here? He went at WWE again The Roman looks like a pedophile out for a job because he always has wet hair was a horrible punchline for a joke and it's probably what will overshadow anything else on that segment, which made some good points and put light on stuff fans and reporters been saying for long, long time.

WWE TV 03/25 - 03/31: Angle vs. Joe! Angle vs. Styles! TNA! TNA! TNA!
Man, I really hope they don't turn New Day at mania to cost Kofi the title. It would be so moronic that I'm worried it might actually happen.

WWE TV 03/25 - 03/31: Angle vs. Joe! Angle vs. Styles! TNA! TNA! TNA!
This smells like meta booking "see, Charlotte is being handed all these opportunities and the company wants her to win every title. Be mad at the company and rally behind Becky!" wink wink bullshit.

Wrestlemania 35 - Voluntary Colonization
Huh? Why are those two the options? I would rather have neither as none of them are good. A very long show sucks and it tires the crowd almost no matter what (it happens to DDT all the time for their Peter Pan shows), it's gotta be very well paced to avoid it and nowadays it seems New Japan is the only company that can pull that off. There's no evidence whatsoever that WWE can book and pace an event as long as this Wrestlemania to be not be pessimistic about it. I you still wanna have faith, go for it man, I really hope you end up being right as matches like Becky/Ronda/Charlotte and Kofi/Bryan having a hot crowd would be awesome.

Wrestlemania 35 - Voluntary Colonization
Card looks fun but there's no way I'm watching 5 hours, let alone 7 or more. If Kofi vs Bryan is early I'll check it out from there but if not, I'll probably join in when there's 3 hours left or something.

WWE TV 03/18 - 03/24: Sal Bellomo ate Bologna in a Balloon
Who is out there for Kofi to beat besides Bryan to earn the title shot? At this point it's gotta be a case of Kofi/New Day pissing either Vince or Bryan off to the point of letting him wrestle at Mania so DB can teach him a lesson or something. Still, I was again pissed at Vince for pulling this fuckery on Kofi again, so they got me hooked for 3 weeks in a row now.

Was that a botch? Orton's shoulder was WAY up

WWE TV 03/18 - 03/24: Sal Bellomo ate Bologna in a Balloon
If they are acknowledging the 09' stuff with Orton, I can only imagine how amazing Kofi's video package is gonna be for Mania. A lot of material there for the GOAT production team to do their thing.

All the faces just watching the monitor, spineless bunch. New Day is banned but what's the excuse for the rest?

WWE TV 03/18 - 03/24: Sal Bellomo ate Bologna in a Balloon
What's more WWE than Orton losing to AJ and ending up challenging for the belt anyway?

AJ got a new deal, I don't think he's losing.

[2019-03-19-AJPW] Kento Miyahara vs Naoya Nomura
Triple Crown match An Ace at his peak (or entering his peak) vs the future Ace in a title match is not a dynamic that you get to see much in Japan and I gotta say they pulled it off nicely here. At first this is all about Kento, he's a cocky motherfucker that wants to show the kid he ain't got what it takes, and he pretty much does exactly that. Miyahara's mannerisms and the mandatory Wada fuckery carry the first 10 minutes or so of the match, which are fine but nothing to write home about either. Nomura has to fight like hell to land anything meaningful and it doesn't have a lasting impact because Kento is just better. But as the match goes along, Naoya starts to find cracks in the champ. Little by little, he starts landing more powerful stuff, and he starts to make it very difficult for Miyahara to hit a combo or the straight jacket German Suplex that would finish the match. This goes for a good 5-8 minutes until Nomura is finally going toe to toe with Kento, and you actually believe it, it makes sense, and you buy into the action and the nearfalls. The first portion of the match might be a little too long, but it pays off. Great showcase for Nomura and awesome performance by Kento, who truly did his best to prove Naoya got next. BTW, Korakuen is perfect for this as they truly represent Nomura's progression in the match. From "cool opportunity for the kid", to "hey, he's hanging in there", to "holy shit look at this kid", to "HOLY FUCK THE KID MIGHT PULL THIS OFF".

[2019-03-19-AJPW] Strong BJ (Daisuke Sekimoto & Yuji Okabayashi) vs Violent Giants (Shuji Ishikawa & Suwama)
All Japan World Tag Team titles on the line. A worthy successor to the classic they had in January, though not on THAT level. This one doesn't have the emotional rollercoaster vibe the first one had, and it was more about bomb throwing, which kinda makes sense because things had to escalate from their previous encounter. The roles are reversed on the first third of the match, with Strong BJ dominating this time and working over Suwama, and Shuji having to be the hot tag and the fired up one. Korakuen loves Strong BJ though, so even tough they are the invaders, they are still over and never get booed - they didn't try to get booed either though, except for like 2 times they choked Suwama, but they left it at that -, they were really into Yuji and that's awesome because that just means his Champion Carnival run is gonna be fucking amazing. Once Ishikawa does the hot tag the match becomes evenly matched and they just trade bombs and strikes until the end. There are some nice little touches, like Suwama throwing himself to the canvas to avoid Daisuke's german suplex, but him getting deadlifted anyway, a fucked up Shuji lending a hand to avoid the double german suplex, or both Sekimoto and Suwama screaming and cheering up their partners to get the job done and get the W. Still, after an amazing nearfall that I wont spoil, the match kinda fizzles to the end, it's like Korakuen didn't really want a title change, lol. This is more than worth a watch, 25 minutes of dope hoss action, not a classic, but a great match anyways.

This was a give, but AJ re-signed with WWE.

[2019-03-09-wXw-AMBITION 10] Yuki Ishikawa vs Timothy Thatcher
Yuki still has it, he puts on a clinic here. Thatcher did not held back with his strikes, dude was nailing Ishikawa with forearms, palm strikes and some nice body shots. He held his on own on the mat for the first 7 or so minutes, but as the match went along, Yuki just kept finding new ways to put him in really painful move, specially his legs. This went 14 minutes and it felt longer - in a good way - because they did so much. Loved the struggle for holds too. Must watch if you are into the style, specially because old man Yuki does not disappoint.

I fucking love this angle, I'm legit heated at Vince

WWE TV 03/11 - 03/17: Exposing civilians by fabricating lies
Tag match about to start with almost 30 minutes left. We about to witness some important fuckery, right?

WWE TV 03/11 - 03/17: Exposing civilians by fabricating lies
That's my point, "pretty decent" is just sad for a guy like Orton. She's felt like just another member of the roster Sunday and today. Has the convoluted booking finally affected her or has this been going on for a while?

WWE TV 03/11 - 03/17: Exposing civilians by fabricating lies
Not sure if he'll be able to carry Randy to his career best but AJ can certainly give Randall the first memorable Wrestlemania match of his career. It's kinda shocking that after all these years his only Mania moment is the RKO on Rollins at WM 31.
