  1. I think this EC has been good enough. No idea why there is so much silence but my god does it hurt the match.
  2. Is the crowd spent or are they just dead for this?
  3. Snitch Kurt was the best part of that segment
  4. That's why I wanted them facing each other at the Dome, not only is a pretty damn big match for the Japanese audience but it would've put a bow on their promise from years ago of having a match in that scenario, and was a perfect set up for Cody to fuck things up and set up an eventual reunion. The Jericho mini feud and match with Kenny was very good, much better than I anticipated, but I was shocked at how many people were dismissing a potential Golden Lovers clash and how great it could've been storyline wise. Now, I hope this reunion leads to an eventual matchup at WK next year. Even if it's a "friendly" type of match, they need to fulfill their promise dammit.
  5. Someone did a vid with the video and the whole build.
  6. I hope he gets booked everywhere, Yehi is awesome.
  7. Never was a Limp Bizkit fan but nothing tops the Mania 17 My Way video promo. Does this one count?
  8. WingedEagle I'll change the match if watching Benoit is a problem.
  9. Jmare007 replied to Migs's topic in WWE
Exclusive: WWE Considering Holding Next Draft At PPV Post-Mania As has been reported in the last few hours, WWE recently sent out an e-mail announcing that the upcoming Backlash PPV will feature both RAW and Smackdown Live Superstars. Twitter account @WrestleVotes then went on to report that all WWE PPVs will be duel branded following WrestleMania in order to spice up the cards. From what WrestleZone has been told the idea for the WWE Draft returning at Backlash would be to use it as a way for WWE to jumpstart the all duel brand PPV format going forward. As is the case with everything with WWE nothing is set in stone until it happens. The idea of holding the WWE Draft at Backlash is certainly being discussed and would seem to make sense.

To be fair, Loss has always pushed the idea that Vince is the one behind every good show/run, just as he is the one to blame when shit is horrible.
  11. Thanks. Your match is -- Terry Funk vs. Virgil, NWC 10/7/95 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8shykrinpoY&t=1006s Very few things excite me more in wrestling than watching Terry Funk in something I've never seen before, so thank you for this. That was a wild brawl and fun ass fuck to watch. Commentary was top notch too. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/41126-terry-funk-vs-virgil-nwc-21195/
  12. This is from a commercial tape called "Total Caos" and boy is that title fitting. Not even 3 seconds into the match Terry goes through a table after a punch by Virgil on the apron this is a wild brawl with them taking the action all over the place and Funk being the madman we all love, he hits the color commentator, uses a photographer as a shield, gets into a fight with a "fan" - it looked as if it was legit but no idea if it was a plant - knocks out the ref with a headbutt AND brands him on the back once the match is over. Virgil was pretty good showing fire and beating The Funker up all over the arena, and he had the crowd really pumped up for each of his comebacks. But still, this was Terry's show. As always, he does whatever is necessary to make the match fun to watch and he succeeds. Marked out for JYD coming out in the end to save Virgil from being branded. I guess some people could be bothered by Funk being too cartoonish but I don't give a damn, this was a blast to watch. Shout out to the commentary too, it really added to the match. Secret Santo for the win.
  13. JetLag, your match is Misawa vs Vader from the Giant Baba Memorial show.
  14. I love Rusev, man
  15. Seems like branded PPVs are over, again.
  16. This is off topic, just curious at the bolded because I've read that point from other people too. I get that the story was that Naito wasn't ready and that for some reason, after almost 3 years with this gimmick, he just didn't evolve enough to get past Okada. But he went for the Stardust Press two times, neither of which cost him the match, what fucked him over was going for the Destino - the move that gave him the belt against Okada in the first place - twice in a row so he could finally get the pin, like in the G-1 Finals. When people said he lost his Tranquilo personality is it because he went for his finisher twice in a row, the same way Tanahashi and Okada have finished HUGE matches? Or because he tried to go for the SP? I just don't get that narrative, as going for the Stardust Press made sense as nothing else was working, and when he couldn't use it, he went for his "Tranquilo finisher" and it didn't work either. So I'm kinda lost of why some people think the story was him "going back to the Stardust Genius" instead of him just not having enough to get past the Ace. Like, what would the "right" storytelling be - following the first scenario - for when he gets the belt? If two Destinos in a row isn't being Tranquilo enough, or going for the Stardust Press is going back to his old gimmick, then does he need to debut something new to fit the "stay Tranquilo and not go back to his old personality" storytelling scenario?
  17. Only thing that interested me about the list was how many "old school" matches made it. Almost marked out when I saw Tully vs Magmun being the highest rated one. On the other hand, the main thing that interests me about the GME project is how many "new" matches make the list.
  18. I'm still baffled he might do the exact same story he did with Okada/Tanahashi in 15' for Naito/Okada this year. That might have 6 months or 1 year worth of planning but I have no interest in watching it, specially because it sucked when he first did it 2015 (shit, it even bombed at the box office for the payoff at the Dome).
  19. I haven't read or heard 1 criticism of Gedo based on lack of swerves or twists. It's about his booking being uninspired for YEARS. I feel New Japan has been pretty much the same for 6 years now, it's mostly the same dynamics, angles and feuds over and over again. As someone who has followed the company since he took over, I burned out on their product and there hasn't been anything interesting to keep my attention for more than 1 show every 6 months or so. I also think the people that knock him are fans that have grown tired of their current style - specially on main events/big matches - or never really thought it was that great to being with. Now, the fact they are making good money means Gedo has no reason to change, and that's fine. But hey, WWE has been making great money for a long ass time and we all complain when shit is boring or uninspired.
  20. NJPW LA dojo holding two camps from March 19-23 and 26-30 for 500 Dollars. Also, Rey vs Liger has been booked for the Long Beach show
  21. Even if a miracle happens and Steph decides to go to the same lengths Vince did to get Austin (and himself) over, I wonder if WWE would get any backlash from millenials/social media in a scenario were Steph gets beat up and ridiculed constantly, even if it's by Rousey.
  22. Interesting, I usually avoid puro, but those are two guys people have said I would like! Looking at your posts, you seem to be all in on puro. Which means i should avoid that, since it seems like you have it covered. This is a match I will have to watch too, haven't seen in years, but it's got to be awesome. Andrade Cien Almas (La Sombra) vs Jushin Liger Man this brought back some bad memories about lucha commentary, but the match was really good. http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/41091-jushin-liger-vs-la-sombra-cmll-81310/
  23. Damn good match, heel Liger is always fun to watch and La Sombra was awesome as the young flying babyface, the school boy suplex is a great looking moving and I liked what they did with it in the first and third fall. Liger being bested at every turn near the end and having to cheat to get the W was a great heel move that went accordingly with the story they were telling. Can't say this was special or anything but I can't find much to complain about either, a very good encounter that's worth a watch. Kinda off topic but good lord Lucha commentary is horrible, I've made my dislike for it be known in the past before, even made a thread about, but after more than a year without watching any lucha, this brought back some memories of me trying to watch as much as possible for the GWE project and just wanting to punch something at how distracting it is. Morales is the only one worth a damn and he gets to speak like 3 times the whole match, the crew trying to make a thing about Baby Richard counting slow in the third fall when the dude was counting at the same pace the whole match - and in the final fall too - was really weird,
  24. Finally dropped the reviews for Richeyedwards and dawho5 matches, I'm all caught up Really interested in seeing if Grimmas likes or is "meh" about this, my pick for you is Suwama vs Daisuke Sekimoto - All Japan 1/2/12 https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x43jp36
  25. This lasted more than 20 minutes and I couldn't find 1 wasted motion by both Street or Breaks, that pretty mind blowing. The subtleties used for the match to start escalating were awesome, and so was the grappling, so smart and violent at times. I don't see the "MOTD" praise but this was certainly a fucking great match, could watch these two grapple for an hour and not get bored.
