AEW TV 11/9-11/11
If Kingston never winning a meaningful match is a long term storyline, what meaningful match is it building towards him actually winning? As Nintendo said, these angles very rarely work so there's a chance this all ends up with him winning a nothing belt and having a lesser position than he had before the Jericho feud.

WWE Crown Jewel 2022 - I will not be stopped
The main event was really good. Logan Paul is very good at this pro wrestling stuff. And the Tribal Chief was perfect in his role in the match.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
We should've gotten Eddie vs Danielson II after Anarchy in the Arena. Of all the feuds TK has no problem leaving in stasis, that was one he should've had more patience with. That rivalry has more "money" on it that anything Danielson vs Jericho related. Shit, you also avoid Eddie getting suspended because he wouldn't have been involved with Sami. Then him going after Claudio could've been even bigger. That's very debatable. Like I said, I'm sure Eddie vs Danielson would've meant more to the AEW audience than the random matchups between Jericho and Dragon. Which honestly, only did 1 good rating, one forgettable PPV match and a mediocre quarter hour for their last match. I honestly think a Death Triangle vs BCC feud would've meant more for the company than a 6 month feud were literally nothing has been accomplished. Mox vs Jericho I will give you but that was more about the Lionheart shit that TK loved so much than BCC vs JAS (meaning, it could've been a one and done).

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
The most baffling thing about BCC and JAS neverending, horrible feud was that it peaked like 6 weeks in with the Anarchy in the Arena and Blood and Guts matches. Why in the name of fuck did it kept going is something I'll never understand. At first I thought it was TK doing it to propel García but even that was thrown to the bushes with dude staying a heel with Jericho. This feud legit made me stop watching.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
I would hope so but I remember Jericho being part of a couple of big quarter hour gains/segments before getting the ROH title so he probably got the green light to do whatever the fuck he wanted with that belt after those metrics. I hope TK pivots but I don't have any faith in that dude.

AEW TV 11/2-11/4
Me? hell yeah. A dude like Kingston would probably have a response that would turn the whole situation around and get him more over. The Elite guys would probably do some tongue in cheek shit that would probably get a big reaction too, tbh.

AEW TV 11/2-11/4
I don't think they'll get massive chants like there were in WWE but I have no doubt there's gonna be a few people that will heckle Kenny and the Bucks by screaming Punk's name. I actually wonder if they'll respond considering they have a live mic, or if they'll be even allowed to.

We literally had a report last week that said "we asked Punk's side for comments and we got an answer". That's where Larry being injured and Punk thinking Page would go for business for himself at DoN came out. You seem to not like reporting when it's from the Elite side (most of what's been out there in the past 6 weeks) but you also don't acknowledge reporting when it's from the Punk side and people either don't believe/wave it off/laugh at it (which is what happened last week with Nick Hausman's story). When that happens, it's hard not to think you'll only accept a report that goes against what's been out there so far and puts Punk in a better light because it reads like you either don't like what's out there or don't like how people react to what's out there. That's a lose-lose situation. These type of stories are based off sources, there's no other way to actually attack it unless you hack into the arena's security cameras and leak the footage (if there's even anything that's relevant to the fight). If Ace's wife contradicts what's been said so far, then what? Why would her word be more credible than anyone else's? Only thing that that would generate would be even more arguing and most likely a very toxic rhetoric towards her. Even stuff like The Elite going with Megha to Punk's lockeroom is something that anyone with rationale would take as a huge dumb mistake by those guys. I know not everyone feels that way but that story has been out there since day 2 and that's not something that shows Kenny and The Bucks in a positive light in my book. I've been critical of both sides since this thing happened and no amount of reporting has made me think one side was "more wrong" than the other. Both were dumb as fuck and the fact we keep arguing over "yeah but X said they were more at fault!" feels so useless, no?

I've only paid attention to the 18-34 demo and WWE (at least RAW) went from being below AEW to above it. That's interesting to me. I can see younger audiences feeling AEW ain't cool anymore and stop watching, but why would they tune in to RAW is not something I'd expect.

How has been the demo for SD! this year? I've been really impressed with RAW's number since Vince left but haven't paid attention to the blue brand. Very interesting how in 14 months the younger audience slowly shifted to WWE.

Did Dave really said that? Bah gawd. Excited and dreading that match all at the same time.

So Punk comes back to challenge Jericho? lol. I'm still hoping it's Low Ki just for the laughs.

NOAH being the chosen promotion for this is so weird to me. I guess their offices are nice and they can build a PC on them?

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Taker talking about "dress code" will always be hilarious to me. And even if it's not related, him standing outside the Cavs locker room with his deadman gear like he was a child asking for candy for Halloween makes it even more funny. And boy, some of you guys really were putting a lot of faith in Punk's Bret-tribute style as some time of game changer. Where were y'all 5 years ago when strong Big Japan was trying to do that for puroresu?

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Nice callback to their 2008 feud. Nice of WWE to let him work that show just like they did KENTA for the Marufuji Anniversary. Will Shinsuke open his eyes like KENTA did after that show and ask for his release? Pretty telling that WWE is willing to do this but not let Anderson work a New Japan show because they wanted him in Saudi Mania.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Starks and Hobbs had an incredible angle and then fizzled out with 2 matches. A very weird one of PPV that could've been much better on TV and another one on Rampage that should've been on PPV (Full Gear). It's pretty evident how badly booked they have been since that hot angle. You knowing (or not) future plans does not make up for the fact that in the last 2 months they could've done something special with them and instead it ended up like any other random AEW feud and with both of them off TV for literally no good reason. And the waste of Miro is worse than what WWE did with him, which is saying something.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Punk not coming back it's a shame because I think we all agree very good/compelling stuff could've been made if both him and the Elite were willing to do business. It would really suck if neither side could do what so many before them were willing to do the profit of our pockets and the selfishness of our fandom (we would like to see it). For every "the locker room doesn't want him" narrative, I could totally see a "the locker room has warmed up to him" if dude behaved like he didn't have enemies all around him on a potential return. I think all of this is fixable but it seems no one in AEW wants to actually fix it. They are also not injured and out for 6 more months with an arm injury that negates any physicality.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
I don't think Punk is the one talking to people but the Wrestlinginc stuff that came out yesterday literally said "we reached out to CM Punk's camp for a response, and received one". For all we know it could've been Ace Steel's dumb ass talking bullshit and Nick Hausman thinking he had the scoop of the month. Still funny no matter how you slice it I mean look at this, THIS is what's been discussed right now The Dog thing

Low Ki gonna show up unannounced and knock Jericho out to get the belt. Punk's fuckery is gonna be left in the dust!
-
Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
It's gonna be so fucking funny to read endless arguments over Larry's teeth getting hit by a knocked down door or not I don't know what's going on with Punk's side but I honestly can't believe they leaked *this* I mean, come on! Whoever is doing the talking on his side is doing a terrible fucking job at it.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
I think Tony's biggest issue is listening too much to his biggest stars. Every time I listen to Jericho it seems that doesn't matter what he proposes to Tony, he gets the OK and can run with his idea for waay too long. Wouldn't shock that's what happens with every big star they have -hell, Mox was the one behind beating Punk two weeks before the PPV just so they could get pop a rating and a big reaction for a nearfall at All Out- so that kinda explains why he's ok with having the highest paid JTTS in the business in Danielson. I also think it's pretty evident Punk is a bigger draw. But the thing is, he's never been that much bigger of a draw so I've always been puzzled about arguing about it when it comes to those two. If we scale it from 1 to 10, Dragon might be a 6 and Punk a 7. Neither is worth much of a discussion.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Punk can tell his side and explain why he felt the way he did once he came back from the foot injury. But nothing justifies what he did, come on now. I don't justify The Elite being morons, specially because they have a management role (even if it's a paper title) but whatever they did will never be enough for me to understand Punk: 1) Burying the top homegrown babyface in the promotion on national TV over a line only Punk and like 30 people understood in a promo that happened months before and everyone watching had forgotten about. 2) Burying his own promotion after knowing he was injured and would be out for a while. He torched everyone but Adam Cole, lol AND made sure he was the story out of a PPV that ended with the return of MJF. 3) Getting a damn fistfight with a group of morons that went to confront them. For every slight he perceived/believed, he escalated the situation 10 times worse. He basically gave in to the provocations by The Elite and solve a damn thing, he just made things worse. And I agree something should be done regarding the Elite and the way they politic but going public and torching the whole place ain't ever the answer to solving that problem.
