  1. Man, this crowd SUCKS. Did Hobbs botched a busted lip or was it a weird coincidence?
  2. Page kicking the indy pizza guy was the highlight of this first hour.
  3. This should've been a 5 minute video package but oh well, the crowd better start getting use to it.
  4. Well, Mox sure as hell is winning next week.
  5. This was a quick commercial break. Maybe the main event is going long and I'm not sure that's a good idea after watching what happened at the PPV.
  6. One of the most underrated parts of the post All Out media scrum was Jericho talking about MJF. How they were texting back and forth after Max's last promo before he was gone for months, with Jericho telling him he was going to become a huge babyface and MJF telling him he didn't want that because he didn't even know how to be a big face, lol. Jericho told him that it wasn't that hard and he could teach him how to do a babyface comeback in the ring and that was basically it
  7. Page is a former world champion that had Danielson's number and did not cut an embarrassing promo like Sammy did.
  8. I hope Sammy gets squashed in 5 minutes and Mox doesn't let him do 1 single flippy move.
  9. Oh man that would be terrible on some many levels.
  10. I'd love a Darby run to be honest but he needs a couple of feuds to get his heat back. Jungle Boy is gonna have a hard test with the coming program with Luchasaurus. I'm more worried about Starks though, it's clear the crowd wants to see him succeed in a bigger role but it doesn't seem Tony wants to give it to him.
  11. I get that but at the same time, after the legit huge deal that was his comeback for the company, Punk's effect on a lot of metrics isn't THAT big to have Tony by the balls. Only thing we don't know about is merchandise, and maybe Punk was doing incredibly big numbers compared to the rest of roster (we will never known unless someone from AEW tells us). But anything else I see is an increase with Punk doesn't seem to be the kind of bump that couldn't be replaced by any other star AEW has if the company had legit good booking for a 4 month stretch. Which is something AEW has been lacking for close none months now. I mean, All Out was so badly booked that it basically relied entirely on Punk being from Chicago and it did not do good numbers so he's not THAT big of a draw/deal either.
  12. I'm of the thought both sides of the melee were unprofessional, both were wrong and both deserve to get shitted on by the fanbase for being morons and hurting the company. Any argument trying to defend either side makes very little sense to me at this point.
  13. I expect Cody to get the same build up to his return as HHH got in 2002 so my guess is that he's gonna be massively over to the point of making the decision of him pinning Roman a very easy one. I kinda hope he gets a new finisher instead of the cross rhodes though (or a pedigree, lol).
  14. I meant to write *not to* cash in at Full Gear. I feel the MJF title match (and win) should be built upon and not get thrown together in 4 weeks against an impromptu tournament winner. Let that shit build some tension, and I think Danielson (specially with a 6-9 month reign) is perfect for that role.
  15. Yeah, Darby/Mox is way more interesting and could have some real heat. Sammy is there to continue to push this neverending JAS/BCC feud and have a heel, bleh. They should give the strap to Danielson and come up with a reason for MJF not to "cash in" his title shot at Full Gear. Just build the tension between those two while Dragon starts collection dope title defenses that give the belt back it's must have status. Have MJF vs Danielson at Revolution or even Double or Nothing and then put MJF over and let him run with the ball. But that's never going to happen. Mox will win and then drop the strap to Max in November (so Mox can get his vacation) or the first Dynamite of 2023.
  16. Bobby looking like Kim Bodnia in The Witcher tv show.
  17. I mean, it's not a bad number either considering it had bad buildup, the main event was given for free two weeks prior and there was A LOT of wrestling during the weekend before this show. But I hope it's a wake up call for Tony to tight up the booking and get people to fucking help him once and for all.
  18. 1.- Wait, how does he get to "ride the wave" of a storyline he was a major player in? So people would've just paid to see any other guy in Page position? Do we have any sort of evidence to back that up? 2.- Becoming a successful n°2 promotion, with profits that haven't been made in 25 years is very hard, facts show that. It sure is bigger than anything Punk ever did in his career, considering AEW was already established and making good money before he got there. They did very big gates and PPVs with more than 110,000 buys before Punk got there, so yeah, they were very successful considering no other wrestling promotion in 20 years was able to do that before them. 3.- I mean, they did give ROH their biggest houses, they were a huge part of All In being a major success and were instrumental in getting Tony Khan to dump the money necessary to get AEW started. Again, that's more than Punk ever did in his career without the juggernaut of WWE's "the brand is the main draw" behind him. And they did it by doing shit a lot us never thought would work, let alone draw THAT many people and money. If we are going to suggest that Punk's comments had merit when it came to downplaying Page and "The EVPs" success (which Omega is a part of too and I hope we don't have to argue about that dude's career). Then we for sure have to put a mirror on Punk and ask what has he achieved in his career to demand so much respect then. Because if what Page+EVPs isn't impressive, then neither is Punk's. I find both of those notions to be ridiculous tbh.
  19. I could be remembering wrong but reports of festering issues inside AEW's locker room were out there before Punk's promo on Page. Of course it all comes down on much we believe wrestling media (and I for sure understand not wanting to believe most of what they report) but it seems to me AEW's fuckery has been known for a while. Went underreported because a lot of outlets didn't want to cause too much noise and in the last month, as shit began to unfold they either started to connect the dots or just release shit they've been hearing about for a while, most likely pushed by the anti-Punk side.
  20. BTW, the ratings were marginally better than last week. The precious demo was up but not by that much so all this fuckery didn't gather that many eyes. The Watts comp made sense to me in the context of someone coming in after a long hiatus and "not getting" that the stuff he doesn't agree with, because they didn't work before while they were active, actually work nowadays and it actually draws money. It's one thing to be a throwback and still make shit work but it's another to treat your whole company like it ain't shit because a portion of the locker room are too set in their ways and don't see stuff the same way you do. Not realizing that those people feel that way because they worked in manner they were always told it was "wrong" and it actually lead to creating the n°2 promotion in the world is a big part of the rift that occurred. A lot of us aren't fans of The Elite and the style they work but it would be really dumb for any of us to argue they haven't been successful. Punk being a moron by publicly stating their former champion hasn't done shit in this business or that The Bucks couldn't manage a target is the type of shit the old timers Punk hated their fucking guts would tell him when he was young so yeah, spot on by Dave to call him out on that.
  21. Listened to Dave on WOR and I think it's the most I've agreed with him in a long ass time, I wonder how Punk took his words because I'm sure he was listening or will read the snippets
  22. The responsible thing for Danielson was to not wrestle again back in 2018. WWE let him do it because he was going to wrestle somewhere else anyway. They were going to try to let him wrestle in New Japan to keep him away from AEW in 2021. That dude will continue to wrestle in a reckless manner wherever the hell he wants (according to him, in a more limited capacity after 2024 but he's also a guy who is constantly changing his mind) and it's really naive to think any promotion wont let him do it. Being responsible towards talent has never been something wrestling is known for, much less with talent that is as beloved by fans and useful to a company as Danielson. And Punk not getting fired could also be because dude got injured in an AEW ring and letting him go just as he's about to get surgery is probably not as easy to do without some potential legal fuckery.
  23. He needs the JAS feud to end once and for all so they can all move to something else. Too bad HOB is practically over without Malakai because that could've been a cool feud with a lot of good matches were Yuta could keep some momentum. As of right now, it feels Tony is rehashing with García what he already did with Wheeler.
  24. It didn't have the huge heat their previous matchups had because Hangman is way colder, Dragon hasn't been heeling it up AND a portion of the crowd was booing Page. Having said that, the match was a great slow burner. Only thing is that the flying knee is nothing more than a set up move at this point and it's gonna take some time to get used it no longer being a killing finisher.
  25. Oh shit Claudio vs Dax!
