  1. Sometimes this board spends way too much time talking/arguing about the lowest common denominator of wrestling fans. "Truthers", trolls, stans, etc. they are not gonna be convinced no matter what and most of them live for you to worry or talk about their hot/dumb/ takes or crazy behavior. 200k in 2021 is a huge success no matter how you slice it. Basically. And that was gonna happen even if All Out did 300-400k. I would expect morons to talk about "that show was like their WM and it didn't even crack half a million? Failure" or that kind of nonsense.
  2. Interesting, Dave (who's been close to Danielson for a long time now) says that WWE was willing to let Dragon work New Japan in order to keep him. As Danielson has stated since Sunday, the fact that he still chose AEW even with Vince bending backwards to keep him, just shows the momentum the promotion has. He basically couldn't resist the opportunities that are open to him. Seemed like a "now or never" type of decision. And man, if Nick Khan would've pulled off that NJPW exclusivity deal....
  3. Is there anyone besides WWE trolls denying that?
  4. I think it will get better once the crowd realizes the lyrics are "you are gonna get your fucking head kicked in". My guess is that the Arthur Ashe crowd is gonna be the first to make it a "thing" and it will catch on.
  5. To be honest I much preffer Moxley going 10 minutes in that kind of match than going 15-17. The commercial break sucked but we still got to watch what was going on in the ring.
  6. That was a dope 10 minute match. I agree the way it was worked it kinda felt cheap Mox won. It's also interesting to me (politically) how AEW keeps getting this Ws over New Japan. King of Sports is never this friendly and willing to take losses. Sure, it's mostly folks past their primes but MiSu is still on a way higher status than 2021 Nagata and Kojima. Not saying it matters nor that it's important, but it's pretty damn interesting how highly AEW is viewed by NJPW.
  7. Well they are going straight into Omega vs Danielson. I wonder who they are gonna feed Dragon to get a couple of Ws in the lead up. Who is the most nimble guy in The Elite? I picture Dragon wanting to do what he did to Jack Evans back in the day
  8. That was pretty claver with Sammy Guevara.
  9. Glad Hayter landed on her face in that botch instead of trying to go through with that reverserana. That looked like it could've been REALLY bad.
  10. Hobbs was very impressive working on top. Is Dan Lambert a known U.S personality? I have no clue who he is but was really impressed at the promo he cut. That was a lot of words and he didn't even slip once.
  11. 33 years later and dude still can put one hell of a performance.
  12. Not sure how HHH looks like these days but I remember he was very lean not long ago. If he gets a full recovery (hopefully he does), I'm fully expecting Vince and/or Bruce to work "Cardiac Event" into the name of an NXT or WWE show.
  13. Yeah, let Togo go work indy matches around the world, that's where he excels at.
  14. I wonder if something similar will happen to Omega and The Elite in 15-20 years. Granted, I don't think they've ever been tounted as promo guys like Jericho but I wonder if their type of humor and sketch comedy will hold up in the eyes of the coming generations.
  15. I kinda agree. But I think Miro would've been the perfect opponent for Punk's first match. Simple story with him working from underneath and trying to survive the onslaught while Chicago rallies behind him so he can slay the beast. But considering Miro is a champion, it wasn't a realistic option. And giving the spotlight to Darby made complete sense too.
  16. Danielson knows he is a big loss because WWE treated him like a very important asset since he had to retire. Going with that rumor makes no sense whatsoever if you think about his position in the company for the last 4 years. They kept him under contract even when he asked for a release because they didn't want to lose him They let him come back from serious concussion issues because he was about to leave and wrestle somewhere else. Another wrestler that had concussion issues? Christian, how does WWE and Vince feel about him? Yeah...and he wasn't allowed to wrestle again. They let him have a Memphis style feud and match with Miz, at fucking Summerlslam no less Was given the main belt and let him have a 2.0 version of his ROH title reign. Basically chose who to work and who to put over. Including going on the fly and giving Kofi the main the belt. Was put in freaking creative something guys like HHH and Edge got to do (company darlings for a long ass time). Was put in the a WM main event he didn't want to be in (because he thought he wasn't needed). They offered him to work outside of WWE so he could stay. Who the hell else gets that kind of offer? Y'all really think a dude they put that kind of effort wouldn't be seen as a big loss? for real? I'm not saying he's Roman Reigns level in WWE's eyes but he for sure had special treatment and they tried to keep him happy (and on his own words, he was happy there). Even if that rumor actually had a legit source, I wouldn't think it was anyone that actually has power...or it was Bruce just being Bruce.
  17. I'm confident Punk will be an important piece for AEW and he will do good-great stuff once he gets into proper feuds. But Punk comparing himself to Funk irks me a little bit, he ain't no Terry Funk.
  18. Watched the ending again and JR marking the fuck out at Nick Jackson getting knee'd in the face was funny as fuck. Was the most hyped I've heard Ross in a while That's not entirely true. I wouldn't say that was his thing before he got to WWE and I'm pretty sure he can find new ways to do compelling stuff in AEW's environment.
  19. He's the fucking best Can't wait for him to obliterate the Young Bucks in whatever big multi man tag they are setting up. Maybe they have it at the Arthur Ashe show?
  20. At least Kidani understand this is getting kinda serious
  21. Christian and Kenny worked their asses off. Very good main event, could've been great in my book if the crowd wasn't so spent and actually believed Christian could win. But not a lot more those two could do about that. Dragon back seems the only forbidden door Tony couldn't open was Europe's Final Countdown though Don't give two shits about Cole but I love that he's immediately back as a heel.
  22. I mean, he better beat Moxley because if he doesn't he for sure is taking a couple of trainees to hell with him as sacrifice.
  23. Solid match. Good think is that Punk can still go, it's just that the match was basically an exhibition and is hard to get more out of it. I'm excited to see him get into a legit feud and get his groove back. Darby is insane.
  24. That start made no damn sense for a blood feud/final match.
  25. How pressed are they to finish this at 11PM? because there's still this battle royale and 3 more matches left that shouldn't go short either.
