The grand and pathetic journey of the Undertaker at WrestleMania
Yup. A no small amount of people actually thought that Shane showing up meant that a) The Authority of Steph and Trips (that was like 3 years running in one way or another as a TV act) was done and b) He was going to "take over" the company for real and for some reason it was going to be way better. When you take those two things into account and you add the fact that it was Mania season, it's not that hard figuring out why dude meant so much for Mania doing well (and ratings, for while, IIRC).

Dave Meltzer stuff
PWG Cena was later though. I do agree he was truly awesome in a ton of big time matches that had a high spot-finisher-repetear formula that had selling up until the final sequence started. I know Matt has been a huge proponent of the "Arn was a big part of Cena turning into a good (great?) main event wrestler" argument, so Dave putting it like that made me curious about what his take on it.

I want @Matt D to reply to this.

The grand and pathetic journey of the Undertaker at WrestleMania
After Cesaro won the Battle Royal, the crowd pretty much died until the main event. But you gotta wonder if the Streak match "formula" was even gonna work. Brock came into the match as damaged goods -after being ruined by Hunter- and the finisher spamming could fail at that point when we all knew it was going to take at least 2 Tombstones and 2 F-5s to get shit going. On the other hand, Taker and Brock always had good chemistry and a non-concussed Taker could've had a good match (probably not a great one) as he later showed he could have against Lesnar 1 year later. And if you add to that the shocking finish, it would've probably end up being a pretty decent outing.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
I think both are the problem. Too many people overdoing the same moves up and down the card is an issue regardless if they do thigh slaps or not. But doing it so overtly is an issue too, just look at the last two clips posted, that's from the two top stars from NXT, it's kinda hard to expect people not to get used to doing it that badly when Ciampa, Gargano (and Cole, and Strong) do it like that. It's a slippery slope imo, if every top star was doing punches like Shane McMahon in every match, I would hope people would take issue with it. Thigh slapping has gotten to that level of bad, imo.

AEW Revolution
I'm a complete outsider when it comes to AEW. Saw the clip making the rounds and laughed my ass off at some of the memes. BUT, couldn't they "save" it by having Moxley come out to cut a promo on Dynamite making fun of Kenny not being able to "finish him" with explosion, only for then to have a legit big FMW-like ring explosion with the ring collapsing? Then Kenny comes out all cocky like "you were saying "?.

WWE TV 03/01 - 03/07 Lashley please win this title
I have a really hard time believing Vince would make Edge take the fall to not only set up a bigger program between DB and Roman, but also cutting Reigns run with the belt, which I think it's been a "success" (kinda hard to say in terms of drawing in 2021, even more so in a pandemic, but ratings wise I think it's done well?). I'd love to see another Bryan run with the a main title but I'm nto sure it's time to get the belt off Reigns. And honestly, you know WWE sees Edge vs Roman as a bigger program than Bryan vs Roman.

WWE TV 03/01 - 03/07 Lashley please win this title
I've been thinking about this and I could see a scenario were they do the triple threat so Bryan takes the pin and they can book another PPV with Edge vs Roman in singles. It's WWE 101 to advertise a match for months, only to change it last minute and then promote for the next big event It's also hard to picture a program for Bryan for WM, unless he wrestles Jey again...

Roman's response was pretty dope too. It's gonna be infuriating that they'll never get a legit 2-3 month program to work against each other. I guess we'll have to be content with Fastlane.

That's very interesting. I haven't seen the WM 26 match in long time but every time I watched it I came out of it liking it less than WM 25 because the "Big spot" --> take a long ass time selling what we just did --> Do another big spot --> take a long ass time selling what we just did, formula went too far my liking on the rematch.

2026 Ideas
I think a 2026 GWE project will be a good test if my burnout is temporal or I'm just kind past this sort of thing. I'm looking forward to make a case for Daisuke Sekimoto and Strong Big Japan, even just to get more people to actually watch the fun stuff they continue to deliver. I'm really happy this is being thought as a project that will use every tool technology gives us to make it easier and encourage people to discuss and hopefully open their minds regarding wrestling. Completely agree on footage being the main (sole?) criteria. Everything else just makes it too complex for people to actually want to participate. Very curious if people take it as seriously as the 2016 vote and if we get some fans going full Parv with their main candidates

WWE Elimination Chamber 2021
Daniel Bryan the GOAT Elimination Chamber performer strikes again. Cesaro was the match's MVP though. Reigns is such an awesome heel. Fucking Edge gonna ruin a perfect Reigns vs Bryan program for Mania

Dave Meltzer stuff
Did Dave really said latinos don't like Bad Bunny? As a south american, I can assure him that's really not the case. People hating on reggeaton and trap under 35 years is very small (and people older than 40 don't really care or know about dude, I'm 33 and don't really care about dude or reggeaton). The percentage of people that LOVE BB is waaaay bigger than people hating on him.

Young Rock: A New NBC Sitcom About the Life of Dwayne Johnson
Feels like a lot of you are harping on his bland, more political persona but forgetting he also has some legit fun stuff like his fake feud with Kevin Hart (who I don't find very funny as a standup, tolerable in some movies). I don't know, I've seen a couple of lives from dude and I've been entertained and it's never been about "chasing your dream" and his politically correct persona.

WWE Royal Rumble 2021
Well, I guess that tweet y'all were clowning in the weekly thread was actually true After they got rid of Bryan and Riddle I was already baffled at the potential winner, but I didn't thought they were going with fucking Edge
