WWE TV 03/15 - 03/21 Bayern Munchen to repeat as UCL champions
LOL. Fucking hell.

AEW Dynamite - March 17, 2021
Nah, I can't think of a single good women's match or angle from the WWE since the Sasha/Bayley feud ended. It's dreadful. The talent is better, yes. The booking killed it dead. AEW's smoked them all year.

It sounds ghoulish but I was so pleased to see double juice from the women. That has to be a first on the national stage right? True parity. Is there any doubt that AEW's women's division is better than WWE's main roster at this point? Great finish to a fairly mid episode this week.

Britt Baker's the one.

'Shades of grey' and all that bollocks. They need to send Sting home until they find something to do with him. His segments are redundant.

Another hot Moxley/Omega angle. No pre-match promo from either Britt or Thunder Rosa is a massive no-no for me.

Oh dear. The Christian stuff seems really tone deaf.

That tag match was looking to be good until Super Marko Stunt bumped The Butcher and ruined everything.

Tully and MJF!! I agree @MoS about MJF, especially when he follows a great like Tully, who sounds like a nasty sinister bastard. Still, MJF is so entertaining that it doesn't really bother me. Wish Spears wasn't there with his shit white mohawk though.

It's been fun watching the Bucks try to navigate the waters as weekly TV characters. They always drown. All they ever seem to do is go from one inconsistent, badly acted storyline to another. They give Charlotte and Sasha Banks a run for their money as confused, unlikable babyfaces. Papa Buck getting beaten to a pulp might've been the best thing that ever happened to them as they were relatively coherent this week. That's funny, to me it was the opposite. It stunk of WWE. It felt like all those intelligence insulting pre-TLC/Royal Rumble go-home segments where guys inexplicably start brawling or setting up ladders, as if to remind you of what the gimmick looks like. Least organic thing ever.

The Shaq match didn't bother me, it was fine for what it was, otherwise I agree with Loss criticisms. I also didn't like how they used their PPV go-home segment for a passé, mid card, battle royal brawl, instead of having a promo from their World Champion to hard sell the main event. Maybe Kenny Omega just isn't capable.

WWE TV 03/01 - 03/07 Lashley please win this title
Get Brock on the phone. Lashley vs Lesnar is the one thing that would get me back into this Wrestlemania hot mess.

The Greatest Wrestler Ever Project: Postscript
Thanks, finally watched the Sato vs Jaguar matches. Good stuff although I definitely preferred the first one. Best of all was a match with Devil Masami in 1980 I watched, which was a classic until the lame finish. Loved Jackie's work from the collar and elbow tie-up, arm wringers and reversals etc. I'm pretty sure I was the high vote for Yumi Ikeshita last time round. Coolest woman that ever lived.

How do people rank Jackie Sato among the joshi girls? I ask because by some happy accident I come across her vs Chabela Romero (?) in a great bloodbath match recently. Having not paid any attention to her I was pretty blown away by Sato. She looked like a beast. If I was to make a list today I would certainly consider Roman Reigns for a spot. He's had too many great big time matches to ignore at this point and the heel run so far has only solidified him. He should be a shoe-in in five years. Sasha Banks I have thought about. She isn't there yet but I definitely think she has the best case of the WWE women. A lot of it hinges on WWE's hot-and-cold booking unfortunately - there's always the danger once she drops the belt that she sinks back into nothingness again.

Ah thanks, just what I'm looking for. @Shrike02 It's about time I checked out OJ's catch thread!

I'm completely out the loop and was wondering if there have been any significant footage drops in the last 5 years? Classic matches discovered or workers that need major reassessing?

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
Yep. Keith Lee's call up was one of those that makes you think "what's the point of NXT?" They stripped away everything that got him over - his look, his music, his ring style. . He's back at square one. His confidence looks shattered and he's taking trips to the PC to learn how to 'work like a big man'. He's not dead but not looking promising either.

[1990-02-17-USWA-Memphis TV] Interview: Jerry Lawler
It's fascinating watching how USWA were so willing to acknowledge the wider world of wrestling. It's the opposite of what you'd see growing up as a WWF fan. Lawler skims through Apter mags, making sure everyone see's how well travelled he is as a champion. He simultaneously adds prestige to the belt while getting over what a massive dick he is. Lawler is incredible at spinning any old bullshit in his favour. I could watch this stuff all day.

Lawler roasting the boisterous locals is always gold, especially when they give it back! It's almost heartbreaking watching this stuff. You'll never see anything like this in wrestling again.

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
To their credit (heh) WWE are doing a decent job at the moment with this. Probably better than any time I can remember. Street Profits, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair are some of their most prominently featured acts and being pushed hard on TV. Montez Ford and Sasha in particular feel they can resonate with a younger audience. The Hurt Business are a cool group and Bobby Lashley's getting the push of his career (after years of pissing about).
