Random Reasons why people stopped watching wrestling
Or how its still considered as one of, or the greastest Rumble matches of all time by many! Pretty sure Flair's time mark has been surpassed a few times, but also if he only knew how many more times they've gone to the well for the winner (or at least one of the final four competitors) to come from the first 5 entrants!

WWE TV 11/21 - 11/27
UGH! Seriously? Did any crowd do that to him back in 03-04? Yeah he was the guy that performed the move that caused Bret's career ending injury, but comparing that to being double crossed and screwed out of a job on your last day with the company says you know little about both circumstances!

WON HOF 2016
Dave made it sound like it might be awhile because of his mother's medical needs. I'm not intending this to be insensitive in anyway, but this does lessen the overall legitimacy of a "Hall" if announcements are affected by the IRL matters of its sole curator and opperator. Kind of echos what some dickwad told me when I was trying to organize an Internet Fan Community voting drive for a "Hall" of a specfic baseball team on a website (proto blog really) I once ran. Pretty much, who gives a rat's ass since you are the only person tabulating the votes and making an unofficial production out of something that already exists on a more professional scale. FWIW, this was his advice:

Original Starrcade 93 Plans + Sid as Champion
Technically its What A Maneuver, but its listed as a bonus episode, and I'm thinking its more akin to their Bowling Shoe Ugly "spinoff" where one of the WAM hosts shows a lapsed fan friend of his the shit that he missed during his time not watching wrestling.

Original Starrcade 93 Plans + Sid as Champion
Not to mention, Flair had to be positioned as the champ Hogan would beat in his debut. Sure you could turn Sid heel, but I'd imagine Bischoff's ego wouldn't have let him play the long game if he didn't have a chance to do right away that the WWF never did.

Original Starrcade 93 Plans + Sid as Champion
Today Sid is ironically liked in an MST3K kind of way, or considered one of the worst wrestlers to ever get mega pushes. There is a podcast dedicated to bad wrestling of the 1990s, and they just attempted to do a Sid match marathon. I guess your Sid comparasion is akin to JvK's constant wondering how Chief Jay Strongbow is remembered fondly by fand s of the time and given strong pushes.

Original Starrcade 93 Plans + Sid as Champion
I'm watching the Clashes and PPVs from this time, and obviously no mentioning of a Horsemen split. When Arn came back, was there any interaction with the two former Horsemen?

WWE Network... It's Here
I will say though, that I am disappointing a bit that all the pre-WM 30 PPV warmup shows and other extra content produced through the years (Free For All, Heat, Internet "exclusives," Home Video exclusives (including an HBK-Goldust title match from Buried Alive) and whatever else) where not included in the PPV programming archives.

WWE Network... It's Here
I'd doubt there'd be much interest beyond the "gotta see everything" types. Very often they have little story line progression, or are just there as either crowd warmup or "send the crowd happy" or celebration segments. They are better off as parts of collections (there is a Post Raw DVD compilation out there, and often they'll show up in various wrestler specific collections) or a rare and interesting nugget situation (Danielson (I think as American Dragon though), Cade and Kendrick in that pre-Velocity (IIRC) taping match in San Antonio while they were in Shawn Michaels' training school).

Wrestling in unusual contexts
In the HBO series The Newsroom, there is an episode set on the night bin Laden was killed. As the staff is trying to pull together what the impending Presidential address could be, The Rock's hinting at something big tweet from earler in the day is brought up. Also one of the newsroom's staffers' girl friend assumed it was related to The Rock facing Triple H at WrestleMania XXVIII. Granted the character was baked at the time, but kind of hilarious considering Rock-Cena was announced the night after the Wrestlemania a few weeks earlier!

Titans of Wrestling #72: The Stampede Territory Part 6 (6/22 & 7/27 1979 TV)
Gotta love how they forgot to tell Bret Hart they wanted to do this. And that they've never got around to, or are dragging their feet on a suitable arrangement with Bret for the Stampede footage on The Network. Kind of like how rights fees for songs and cameo appearances tie up home video DVD set releases of certain TV shows for decades.

WWE TV 10/24-10/31
To be fair, is it any different than opening acts at concerts? "Dark" matches have been around since the start of the television era and I believe not exclusive to WWF events. Also it is "free" content, just because its there, doesn't mean you have to watch. Except for the "panel" which is the Network version of the old "BUY THIS PPV" hype shows, its just harmless fluff to warmup the live crowd.

Sheamus, Barrett, Regal, Paige, DBS, Finley, etc How many Western Europeans have been good talkers on Dunn's watch? And all of a sudden one Irish chick comes in and he hates it? Yeah, I'd buy it if there were more examples of Irish, Scottish, Welsh, British, Cockney, etc wrestlers all of a sudden being the "silent but violent" types.

Announcement: Pilot Season on the Pro Wrestling Only Podcast Feed
I've been waiting for such a podcast for ROH! And TNA, though there is an early days one for them out there, but I don't know how long they plan to keep up.

Announcement: Pilot Season on the Pro Wrestling Only Podcast Feed
Chad has told me before that the actual wrestling talk on your show can be quite good. And since we're looking for new original pods for the pilot versus existing shows that would just jump feeds, DM us if you have any ideas for a project away from WDKW. Not so subtle jab at the tremendous content that WDKW delivers. Its more about the point of the request is about producing brand new shows, as opposed to "poaching" shows already out there than criticizing your content.

Wrestlers and twitter
Orton's going AWOL was a sign of being an immature punk who whussed out of a tough situation, and is a big blow to any "tough guy" reputation he ever tries to have. Unless you can prove he had legit "why are we fighting this" moral and ethical concerns when he went AWOL, I don't see how quitting automatly means you can't be in support of your country's military?

Titans of Wrestling #70: WWF at MSG 11/22/82 and Philadelphia Spectrum 11/25/82
Hmmmm, I figured since Moolah controlled the belt and division, it was kind of an Andre sort of deal, or maybe more like Bruiser Brody/Terry Funk, where they weren't beholden to a specfic territory, and the division would be stalled until needed again. Akin to early 1990s until Alundra Blaze shows up and then again when Madusa trashes the belt to when Sable debuts the new belt around late 1998-early 1999.

Amazing that arguably the most influential and charismatic heel of the 1970s could be out staged by the most influential and charismatic heels of nearly two generations earlier...in 198 FREAKING 2!

1983 should be all kinds of interesting. Backlund-Shieky Baby to wrap up the year and Backlund's reign, speaking of which, was this the debut of the weights and "challenge?" That "very interesting" shoot-ish promo Vince gives early in the year on Victory Corner that is almost a scripted promo version of "Stand Back." An entire year of Don Muraco IC Champ! Speaking of which, THE SPLASH from Snuka in October. One more go-round for the Samoans, Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas becoming tag champs, and hopefully the END of the Strongbows! BTW, when does Moolah and the women's division return to the territory? Looking up quickly, its not until July of '84 that Richter wins the title, so I wonder how long in advance the division made its return.
