The Baron wins a match! Someone call Parv!

WWF Ongoing Thread
Watching the first of the All Star Wrestling Dump right now. If the Baron getting an easy win over a jobber doesn't bring Parv out of retirement, I lose my hope in humanity.

World Cast: A WCCW Review
The first three Coliseum Videos were this, Best of the WWF 1 and Hulkamania all released the same day. One thing about the WWF, the PPV tapes came out FAST, usually within six weeks of the show. How they did that I have no idea but they had the box art and thousands of copies ready to go that fast. Sheik-Backlund was on WWF Greatest Matches which had the nerve to have the Dream Team vs. The Hillbillies on it.

Wrestling with a Generation Gap 22 - Houston & The Usos vs. the New Day
Rob, Dave and Nick go old school with tons of video footage as it's trip to Houston Texas. On the docket Paul Boesch vs. the Great Malenko The Grappler vs. Ricky Morton Wahoo McDaniel vs. Tully Blanchard Dick Murdoch vs. Terry Gordy The Midnight Express vs. the Fantastics Dusty Rhodes vs. Nick Bockwinkel Along the way we learn Nick thinks Brother Love was Jim Cornette. We talk about the role of comedy in wrestling, generic masked gimmicks, uber violence, the debut of Rob's favorite tag team in the podcast and a battle of all time greats. Then it's off to Hell in a Cell 2017 as the Usos and the New Day battle it out. Comments always welcome

When it comes to older footage, where is your balance between original broadcast presentation vs new high quality picture footage?
I am keeping my old Coliseum videos, not only out of nostalgia but for the amazing theme intro

WWE TV 05/02 - 11/02
The only way I could even stomach that long a streak is if they actually book some decent feuds between the other women, or get every single talent with any potential over to Smackdown. Otherwise you literally have every other woman existing with no other function at all other than to go out there and get crushed week in and week out by one person. And I don't really care for Asuka that much honestly.

WWE TV 05/02 - 11/02
Each of whom will lose in about 3 minutes. With no visible challenger left at all and the entire division nothing more than her and Rousey's cannon fodder. Well most revolutions eventually eat their members I guess.
-
WWE TV 05/02 - 11/02
Someone explain this to me. Asuka has now already defeated the entire woman's roster on Raw. She's getting the belt. But this isn't some Goldberg in 98 thing where he faces Jerry Flynn while the other feuds continue, this will literally be all the women's division is. What's the point? Shouldn't every other woman just want to move to Smackdown at some point to at least have something to do while her and Rousey feud? All this "women's revolution" and the entire division is being steamrolled for one star and a celebrity UFC fighter. I just don't get WWE.

Crockett 81-83 - help needed on picking a good sampler
I've got the first two and Piper's Georgia face turn, but I don't have Slaughter's US title win or Piper's MA face turn. Are they online?

Crockett 81-83 - help needed on picking a good sampler
So another upcoming episode of my podcast will cover Crockett from 81-83 (no Starrcade stuff, I want to stop just before the build up to that for a later episode). Here it's not so much not knowing about the promotion as it is there's a fairly large amount out there (and a ton more thanks to the recent network upload). So if people had to pick say 75 minutes or so of a good sampler of the best matches, talent, moments, promos etc what are your suggestions? I also plan on doing a separate episode watching the Final Conflict but am happy to include the build up to that.

Southwest Championship Wrestling - Best of?
I can see why. A def must include match. This was the night of the tournament for the "world title" won by Adrian Adonis, yes?
-
Southwest Championship Wrestling - Best of?
Wonder if anyone around here is very knowledgeable about Joe Blanchard's old territory. I am putting together a 75 minute or so primer on that territory for my podcast showing old stuff to new fans, and that's not one I have too much footage of or know that much about really.

Wrestling with a Generation Gap 21, Total NonStop Deletion and Takada vs. Yamazaki
It's the 21st episode of the podcast that looks at wrestling then and now. Today we take a look back at the December TNA Impact episodes known as the Total NonStop Deletion. On the docket is King Maxel vs. Rockstar Spud ODB vs. Sienna Itchweed vs. Chet Sterling Eddie Edwards vs. Bobby Lashley Tag Team Apocalypto Then a look back to a Meltzer 5 star in Japan's UWF as Nobuhiko Takada takes on Kazuo Yamazaki. On the way Dave takes over as Rob and Nick are both under the weather, love for the long lost Titans of Wrestling podcast, Rob doesn't mind a baby is wrestling but can't stand ODB, everyone gets bored as hell by Edwards vs. Lashley, Feedbacl and thoughts are always welcome. The TNA stuff is audio only, UWF is video but our next 4 episodes will be a return to the video sync! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDBL6A1fYu4&feature=youtu.be

PTBN GWWE Results Thread
I seriously think a lot of times it comes down to a girl like Nikki Bella made fun of me in high school but I'm going to get revenge now by GAWD. And yeah good point, I just watched the two Nikki Charlotte matches and it's pretty obvious who is teaching who how to work WWE as opposed to NXT style and making the match work. I put in Xavier Woods (I think) and def Jess the Body so three of my picks are history.

Still only one gone for me. And who in the name of all things sane puts freaking MABEL near the top 50?

World Cast: A WCCW Review
Hey I tried to do one for all the existing Memphis episodes but no one was willing to team up with me. I have to say listening to Johnny absolutely lose it made my Sunday.

PTBN GWWE Results Thread
Seriously did Nikki Bella murder some of the pets of whoever wrote her up? That had to be the most mean spirited of write ups. And she's the only person who made my list eliminated so far.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
No one ever kicked out of the Stratusfaction bulldog. Jazz got saved by defeat from it once, that was it. I can't recall anyone ever kicking out of Nikki's rack attack and winning against her, though IIRC Brie did it once but still lost.

Wrestling with a Generation Gap 20 - Tito vs. Valentine, Wrestle Kingdom 9 Rumble
It's another episode of the podcast that takes a look at wrestling's past and present, introducing the new to the old and the old to the new. On the docket this week it's a look at the very first memory Rob ever had of wrestling, the war between Tito Santana and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine over the Intercontinental Title! Then we head to Japan for the very first Wrestle Kingdom Rumble where Rob is less knowledgeable about the talent than Art Donovan. On the docket Unfortunately due to copyright issues, there is no video footage synced with this episode but you can find these matches online or the network. Tito vs. Valentine - MSG August 25 1984 Tito vs. Valentine - All Star Wrestling - Title Change Tito's surgery Tito vs. Valentine - MSG October 22 1984 Tito vs. Valentine - MSG March 17 1985 - Lumberjack match Tito & Ricky Steamboat vs. Valentine & Brutus Beefcake - MLG April 21 1985 Tito vs. Valentine - Baltimore Civic Center - July 6 1985 - Steel Cage And FYI there are more episodes to come, including 2 already recorded so we have defeated the Ep 20 PWO podcast curse!

World Cast: A WCCW Review
I have said it before and I will say it again nothing brings the best out of the Titans (or 3/4 of them) than a terrible card! This was a great Christmas night treat. I do have my own King Kong Bundy story to match Johnny Sorrow's. I met him at in indy show in Worcester MA around 2007 and had him autograph my VHS of Wrestlemania 2. As we are chatting I place my wallet on his table like an idiot and then turn to say something to a friend. When I turn back it's gone. I do a mini panic (as there was quite a bit of cash in it) for about a minute until Bundy produces it from his back pocket (and I had turned around for maybe 4 seconds). He and I bust out laughing, he says it's pretty sad if someone his size is too stealthy for me. Ninja Bundy!

Wrestling with a Generation Gap 19 - The Wrestler (1974) and Breezango
In the latest episode of Wrestling with a Generation Gap, we make a change of pace and go to the movies to watch the Wrestler. But not the famous (or infamous) Mickey Rourke film, instead it's deep into the mind of Verne Gagne with the 1974 movie. We do a live commentary on the movie featuring the struggles of Ed Asner to promote honestly, make his super bowl of wrestling a success, outwit the evil mobster Sam Menacker, match wits with the smartest, best, most talented wrestler of all time, Mike Bullard, and strangely turn down the advances of his younger hot secretary! Then we go into even stranger territory and comment on the best of the Breezango files as Rob is introduced to modern WWE humor. https://youtu.be/6C5ZEBXiQIc
