SummerSlam Brooklyn... It's Time!!!
Jon Stewart's skits remind me of the skits at WMXX where Coach had to find the Undertaker. I miss Coach, is what I'm saying. Jon Stewart cutting a butthurt fan promo about The Streak is just wacky.

Too many clean wins, not enough cheap finishes.
They've always read mine. Becky Lynch has started using those joshi bridging kickouts that I told her to.

The camera crew missing Amell's tag and his kip up in the space of a minute was amateur hour.

SummerSlam Brooklyn... It's Time!!!
Lana is a strong independent woman, no longer does she dress the way her mean ex boyfriend told her to! ...instead, she dresses exactly like her new boyfriend. Girl power!

I think the idea was that Sin Cara did a tope and the Matador on the floor caught him with a dropkick on the way down.

NXT TakeOver Brooklyn
It's not smart but it's not stupid either. It's just nice. The storyline as presented on TV, above all else, is the Divas Revolution, which is something that has always nodded behind the curtain because it's about the girls wanting more time to wrestle from the office. This moment was a culmination of the Revolution in NXT. The three of them are "leaving the territory". It was a heartfelt sendoff for real people. WWE breaks kayfabe in this way when they want to. Guys break character to give retirement speeches, do anti-bullying campaigns, tributes, whatever. It's not unprecedented or really that unusual. I don't get the hang up, especially since it was such a heartfelt, deserved moment.

Is now the perfect time for another brand split?
Oh man, in brand split days I was #1 on Team Smackdown. I loved that show. Raw has always been hit/miss/indifferent, but in that period from around late 2007to early 2010 SD was considconsistently good mostweeks, always had the best TV matches, it was my favourite show. I went through stages of grief every year when all my favourite guys were drafted to Raw to die in Rae midcard hell.

That's what I loved about, what was it...I think that Rusev/Cesaro/Owens match on Raw a couple weeks ago. Rusev and Cesaro had been throwing bombs at each other forever, and in the end, Cesaro barely survived something and then copped a kick to the face and just...died. No finisher, just the final bomb that he couldn't get up from.

The Hardy Boyz
Ahh I don't have a comprehensive one off the top of my head. The MNM matches are obviously must-see, December to Dismember 2006 and Rumble 2007. The Cade & Murdoch feud is really good too, I think those matches are Backlash 2007, Judgment Day 2007 and Raw 4th July. That Raw match in particular is a great example of both guys selling their asses off, as this was the day after their ladder match with WGTT at ONS 2007, and they definitely wrestle like they'd been through a ladder match less than 24 hours earlier. I love that ladder match as well, by the by, but I assume you want regular matches. I'm sure they had more good matches on Raw in that early 2007 period, I just can't recall them.

SummerSlam Predictions?
Yeah but there's a difference between making personalised t-shirts for every city they go to (which is actually brilliant I think) and making a t-shirt around a stat that would become factually wrong if they put the belt on him again.

Who Will You Be the High Vote On?
Shawn and Rey are in my top 5 currently so I have you beat there.

Who Will You Be the High Vote On?
Probably John Cena, Shawn Michaels. Possibly Steve Austin.

What does it say about me that the thing that excited me the most about Raw was the return of THE COACH?

Ranking the Best Summerslam Matches Ever
Y'all are sleeping on Cena vs Orton 2007. That is an awesome match. My Top 5 would be something like: Cena vs Bryan 2013 Punk vs Lesnar 2013 Cena vs Orton 2007 Shawn vs Hunter 2002 Cena vs Punk 2011

Yeah you could tell something went wrong there, the finish was weird as hell and Naomi had a Randyesqe "WTF was that???" face afterwards.

WWE TV 8/3-8/10
Not sure where else to put this, but I went to a house show as well last night. I have more thoughts up here on my blog, but I just want to say that my 2009 smark self would have been in awe of the fact that I just attended a WWE show where the top of the card was: WWE Title Match: Tyler Black © vs Jon Moxley Claudio Castagnoli vs Kevin Steen (Randy Orton vs Wade Barrett) NXT Title Match: Prince Devitt © vs PAC It's kind of amazing to stop and think about, even though we're used to having these guys all over the top of cards by now. Anyone who doesn't think there's been a fundamental shift in WWE since the advent of Punk and Bryan, I don't know what to tell you. Also, for what it's worth, it may have just been because he was facing Neville, but Balor was working heel in his match. Not just 'subtle heel for babyface challenger', but full blown heel with hair pulling, cheap shots and trying to walk out. They may have been testing the waters for a Balor heel turn once he moves past Owens. For me it was just weird because looking at Balor and Neville I went in expecting a fast, flippydo opener, and instead got Balor sitting in headlocks and shit.

Jimmy Uso commentating Naomi matches like he has absolutely no idea that he's married to her is...something.

That little girl in the front row of NXT starting to cry because Bayley gave her a hug is the girliest thing I've ever seen in pro wrestling, and I mean that in the best possible way. Also, my mother: "Who the hell is Juicy Thunder Lager???"

The phrase is fine. . I think he was referring to the very Dracula-like "ah ah ah"...

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
He was fired because they screwed up Hernandez's contract? How does that work?
