Would have worked fine as long as Flair was a heel opposing the hip young babyfaces. Vince was the top heel during that period after all.

Would you ever consider having Karl Stern on as a guest? I mentioned it to him on Twitter a few days ago as I think he'd be a great guest on the show and he said he'd be glad to do if asked.

I know Butlins still has wrestling twice a week, but they only have 3 camps nowadays. Not sure if the second tier holiday camps like Pontins, Haven etc still have wrestling. Dixon probably needs to try getting into CentreParcs.

They should really put the new shows up for free until the site is operational. I hope they actually have some new ideas for content on the site and they don't just expect a new coat of paint to cover up how lacklustre it's been for the last year or so.

The new show is posted on the PTBN front page but it doesn't actually seem to be up there to download.

KOTR 95 is my choice. Although saying that, it was 20 years ago and I still remember it and could tell you 3/4 of the matches off the top of my head. Which isn't something I could say about the vast majority of WWE (or TNA for that matter) PPVs of the last decade or more.

WCW had more interesting stuff overall. Both promotions had bad stuff at the top of the card (Diesel as World Champ, Hogan vs Dungeon of Doom), good stuff just underneath (Bret vs whoever, although Bret was used badly throughout most of the year, Shawn vs Whoever, Davey, Owen, Kid, Flair vs Savage in WCW) WCW had a mixture of good matches and stupid stuff on the undercard, WWF underneath stuff was generally pretty dire. Both promotions picked up at the end of the year, with good WWF PPVs and Monday Nitro generally being awesome from the outset. I would say the best PPV of the year was Survivor Series, worst was KOTR. WCW had their eternal problem of their PPVs being lacklustre even when the TV was good.

Love these shows, the best audio out there at the moment. I've actually stopped subscribing to F4W just because the audio on this site is so good that I was hardly listening to anything from there beyond Karl Stern's show.

I think the ideal structure of a card, with matches being ranked in order of importance, would be something like 4, 5, 7, 2, intermission, 3, 6, 1.

How much more over exaggerated and over the top could McMahon have made Bruiser and Crusher? They were cartoon characters already. It would have been interesting though, they'd have probably ended up being booked somewhat like Dusty was a few years later, protected, and always feuding with top guys, but kept well away from the title picture. I've always wondered how Nick Bockwinkel would have done in mid-80s WWF. He could really still go at the time, the famous one hour draw with Hennig was at the end of 1985, I think he'd have been a perfect fit for either the "King" gimmick or the Million Dollar Man.

Was Lawler mentioned as a possibility? I listened to the show but was half asleep for part of it so might have missed it. My choice would have been Dusty, in any case. He was over like rover for his appearances in WWF in 1977.

I liked Joe McHugh, who used to do the old WWF TV Tapings in Allentown. Great voice for an old-time wrestling or boxing announcer.
