They also botched the finish of the WM main event itself. Literally everything they could fuck up, they did. Cutting Best Friends is tricky cuz they come with Orange Cassidy, who along with Darby Allin, MJF and Hangman Page, is one of the biggest home-grown stars and draws AEW have developed. I agree with most of the names discussed to be cut. AEW needed some jobbers when they started simply to establish hierarchy. There's no reason that complete trash like Luger are taking up spots on the roster now.

This match, dumbass dialogues aside, was great until the Uso interference, and then it quickly became usual terrible WWE tropefesta. Edge giving a throwback to his hilariously awful, terrible, so-bad-it's-great facial expressions of 15 years ago was funny though

2021 hasn't been great for WWE women, but nothing in AEW women's division history can match what Bayley and Sasha did last year. All the Reginald stuff going on right now is putrid though

The women saved the show. There had been some good stuff on the show like the Pinnacle segment and the Mox/King promo, but there had been a lot of middling-to-bad stuff too. But that main event was tremendous, Britt has completed the old "to-be NWA champion goes on a territories tour putting over multiple people to have fresh feuds waiting for him" round, and now deserves the title. Love Shida, but it's Britt's time now. AEW is certainly in an interesting period right now. I feel that failed explosion shattered the honeymoon phase. We have discussed at length the issue of having a coherent sense of identity, and personally I hope they find one soon, cuz they really feel like they are on the cusp of breaking out and reaching the next level. Just a few missing pieces left.

Going toe to toe with Mox and Kingston definitely seems a mistake. Having them and Christian get featured so much feels TNA-ish. Also, holy shit the Bucks need to figure out what their character and alignments are. It's absolutely beyond parody right now.
