Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
This reminds me of the time Hunter hit JR with some stiff shoot punches in MSG cuz he was pissed about a payoff from years before and Vince had thrown JR under the bus for it.

#SpeakingOut: Industry-wide sexual misconduct (assault/harrassment/grooming/etc) accusations and their repercussions
The gall. The sheer audacity. And OF COURSE he used Hana Kimura's name and tragic death to get sympathy for himself. What a complete dickbag

The Gallows-Anderson pod is a riot to listen to. Apparently, Triple H looked at both of them in the eye during negotiations and said "You have kids. Who knows if AEW will be here in 6 months. We will always be here." Of course both got fired months later even as WWE is on course to make record profits.

WWE TV 07/13 - 07/19 Paul Verhoeven is now a visionary and really basic
Well, clearly they are going to continue pushing Riddle for now. Of course, one can justifiably argue that being booked in a neverending feud with Baron Corbin is severe punishment in itself.

When he tried to laugh maniacally, I was transfixed

In respect of the Osperey allegation at least, he has seemed dismissive every time he's referenced it. If he is waiting until making a thorough investigation to speak, fair enough, but then don't comment on the thing at all, instead of coy remarks.

Tbf Lucas's vision would probably suck more than Vince's version As far as the swamp match, I really hope they don't use the Cena match as precedent for Wyatt's cinematic matches. Bray Wyatt becoming a meta YouTube channel dissecting pro wrestling history is really not what I want out of my main events.

We have talked a lot about eye for eye, but not a lot about how the SWAMP MATCH might be one of the most disastrous things ever

#SpeakingOut: Industry-wide sexual misconduct (assault/harrassment/grooming/etc) accusations and their repercussions
Oh come on. Calling out Will Osperey and demanding answers for accusations of him blacklisting an alleged sexual assault victim is several universes removed from telling Hana Kimura to kill herself cuz of, amongst other reasons, her being mixed-race. Flattening any and all severe online interaction into "online bullying" does nothing but give potential abusers the chance to deflect any scrutiny or demands of accountability. What Meltzer said was honestly overblown on Twitter, with some people calling him an enabler of abuse and a toxic personality who needs to be cancelled or whatever, but him trying to compare the Osperey and Kimura situations the way he did was really stupid, and is a clear instance of him getting worked by the people he likes. Not to mention, casually dismissing the allegations themselves.

AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020
Looking at the quarters, Mox-Cage did really really well. Apart from Mox, I think some credit has to go to Taz as well for his brilliant promos leading to the match. The Cody-Kiss match opened the show at much higher numbers than usual despite more competition, which I attribute to Kiss, who is clearly charismatic and def has more interest than many of Cody's recent opponents. AEW was definitely hurt by the Lee-Cole title v. title storyline, which was a tremendous success, but that was also literally the biggest possible match they had on that brand. Io-Sasha also did excellent numbers. With the Cage defence out of the way, who will challenge Mox for the title at All Out? Signs are pointing to MJF. I don't think they pull the trigger on making MJF the champ yet, but he and Page are the biggest homegrown stars they have, so they will definitely be pushed prominently.

Did JCP/pre-Nitro WCW ever draw in California on a consistent basis?

I loved everything about that match. The way Mox worked the arm was fantastic. Popped for Darby's return as well. Really hope he goes over Cage.

I feel for Renee. You have covid and feeling sad and you turn on the TV and your husband is there taking a german suplex on a guard rail.

AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020
Taz has made this match feel so much bigger. It's the first time Taz has been cutting weekly serious badass promos since what, 1999?

AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020
I was really hoping for Abadon to come out and squash all 4 women.

AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020
Lol how exactly did JR take Jericho "under his wing" in SMW. Is Jericho just confusing Jims.

AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020
The match was fine. I am here for heel Omega, but this seems to come out of nowhere with no explanation.

AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020
While I love Jericho ranting about ratings and demos in his promos, these Raw-style skits are a turnoff for me.

AEW Fight for the Fallen 2020
Really good match. Weird to see FTR doing flips though. I liked the finish. Babyface FTR giving Omega his just comeuppance

You need people to eat losses as well. I agree that Punk would have been a better investment than them, but it also depends on how much he asked. It's possible that he thought the company would inevitably sink, and thus gave a preposterous number. Even a year ago, the idea of AEW seemed like a pipe dream

Funny thing is doing career retrospectives on Edge, Orton, Show, etc, would help their current programs as well, since the most pushed guys are still from previous eras. It's been 5 years since Steph invented feminism and started a women's revolution, and predictably she appeared on The Bump and spewed the usual empty clichès and corp buzzwords.
