Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Yeah, this is the funniest part. Dude joined in June 2024 and is lecturing others about why the board does not get as much traction as it used to before social media became the juggernaut it is. This is like when Dave Scherer used to say how he had got "many messages" from fans who totally thought Scherer was amazing and Meltzer is an idiot.

This might come as a surprise to you, but people can do more than one thing at a time. Posting on a message board does not preclude you from doing something. So you can take your "Y U NO DO SMTHNG ELSE!!" someplace else. My heart bleeds for the poor WWE fans not posting about WWE here cuz we are engaging in thought control. So noble of you to be so worried about site traffic. The rest of this bullshit is just "wah wah wah people who oppose fascism are acshually just as bad as fascists if they are not apologetic about it, why can't we just respect DIFFERENT OPINIONS like how fascism is not that bad, HURR HURR 1984 HURR HURR George Orwell!!" rubbish and does not merit a response, but congratulations on working on the worst, most incompetent presidential campaign in US history. You did a tremendous job. Maybe you should have stuck to just posting stupid shit on the internet, would have done the world a favour.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
What bullshit. WWE is actively displaying their politics in PR interviews literally arranged by them, but somehow talking about this triggers the fragile people who do not wish to admit that the promotion they like is actively complicit in the fascist bullshit happening in the world. If you are so afraid that the meanies are going to judge you for liking WWE, feel free to post on Elon Musk's Twitter instead of whining and crying and demanding to talk to the manager here. Who exactly is stopping you from talking about wrestling? All you need to do is not click on the thread which explicitly focuses on how WWE is bad, and post in the many other threads about the wrestling in WWE. Why can't you do that? Why does it upset you so much that people post about the awful shit that WWE does in the thread explicitly focused on exactly that topic? "They are afraid they will be bashed", get over yourself. Sorry that the wrestling promotion you like is going out of its way to make its politics extremely clear.

TK loves to book "Challenger loses first match in what turns out to be an excellent match, and wins the title in the rematch". And that's perfectly fine, but he should book more upsets and "surprise" results than he does. In that regard, the trios title change was a wonderful and welcome surprise

It was definitely a bit surprising just how unremarkable she seemed after winning the world title. Power of a great angle, I guess -makes wrestlers feel far better than they are. TK better sign Swerve, Hangman, Ospreay and Toni to like, 5-year deals. They are going to carry AEW for many years.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Oh absolutely. Going through the quote tweets and I had forgotten just how many absolutely horrifying bumps he took in his career, from his match with 2 Cold Scorpio at Superbrawl all the way back in 1993, all the way to the very last flying headbutt he did in his life, at least on camera. You could make a top 25 list of absolutely sickening head bumps taken by Benoit for every year of his career.

Not to make light of an awful situation, but this discussion reminded me of this fantastic tweet - https://x.com/snowboiiii/status/1792864611290505269

AEW Dynasty 2025
I really think this was the PPV where they should absolutely have ended it. If nothing else, it would have given the impression that significant things may happen even on seemingly B-PPVs. If they just telegraph that nothing is going to change until All In, what's the point of purchasing a PPV prior to it?

AEW Dynasty 2025
I watched the full PPV and it was a very good show. It's Tony Khan's own fault that with PPV endings like this, he allows the conversation to focus solely on his booking mistakes, especially when he knows how anti-AEW grifting is a lucrative cottage industry and everyone is salivating at the chance to criticise AEW, whether in good faith or not. The main event angle was bad. But the show was good, nothing close to late-era WCW or the lifeless feeling of 2010s WWE - it was a good show with good angles until the main event and a hot crowd. It is ridiculous just how good Toni Storm has got with this gimmick, hats off to her.

AEW Dynasty 2025
Caught the end of the main event angle and it was a bad one. The Young Bucks jumped the shark years ago, and they ruined what could have been an all-time moment. It is impossible for me to get mad at them, simply because they are just not interesting enough. This is the most disappointed I have felt at the end of the show this whole year.

I will always maintain that AEW booked Sting far better than anyone ever. Watts, JCP, WCW, TNA, all of them. His AEW run was the best run of his career. He obviously didn't have the kind of matches that he did with Ric Flair in JCP/WCW or Cactus Jack and Big Van Vader in WCW, but he was presented and booked in a far superior way.

AEW is also past the point where top WWE names jumping ship will make a difference. So might as well go with young promising wrestlers who are fresh on TV and can bring a different energy. I don't think it gives AEW any credibility that old WWE stars no longer wanted by the company get a red carpet in AEW. This is not a Danielson situation, where WWE was actively trying to retain him. AEW's attendance and ratings have actually started stabilising and trending upwards after years, and I think it's solely due to improved booking, great matches, learning from mistakes and most importantly, creating stars in Swerve and Ospreay while giving Hangman a tremendous makeover. They should continue doing that. And yeah, while all old WWE stars claim they are here to help the younger wrestlers and get them over, how many of them apart from Danielson and FTR have actually put young wrestlers over? Adam Copeland's match history in AEW is downright depressing in that regard.

AEW Revolution
Toni-May should have been the main event. Easily MOTN and a MOTYC
-
AEW Revolution
Storm-May was incredible. Ospreay-Fletcher honestly felt like a longer, cheaper, inferior version of Storm-May. Way too long for starters, and I can go the rest of my life without watching an interference in a cage match again Hey, congrats to Cope for managing to find a way to not do a job yet again

AEW Grand Slam 2025
If it helps, AEW has stopped airing live shows in India since the beginning of the year - no doubt, their completed and ongoing negotiations for TV rights are having a collateral effect. But it doesn't stop the old Indian channel that used to air AEW from airing old pre-2025 footage. In fact, they just replayed World's End...with Hindi commentary. In fact, so many old PPV, Dynamite and even Collision shows are being re-aired here in India with Hindi commentary, so clearly the Indian channels are making *some* effort and want to close the deal.
