https://x.com/Jack_Crosby14/status/1846721712802394512 This was awesome. A total babyface move though

I think if the post-match leads to Darby finally getting properly elevated into the main event, after having hung at its precipice for so long, then it would have achieved its goal. Also, wrestlers' intent is a slippery slope, but this is exactly how that psycho freak GOAT would have wanted to go out.

Lest we forget, Mark Briscoe got a good match out of Jericho, God bless him
  4. MoS replied to sek69's topic in AEW
    I actually loved the ending

What an incredible match. I don't like the result but I am willing to wait and watch. Oh look, emo Yuta
  6. MoS replied to sek69's topic in AEW
This main event has been incredible so far. The buzz, the aura, whatever you want to call it, is off the charts

I liked how in the three-way, Ospereay's and Ricochet's stupid power ranger spot/pose resulted in a foot to the face from Takeshita. If you're going to, in kayfabe, fuck around during a match, then you should get your face kicked in

Darby is absolutely incredible. Him and Orange Cassidy have been the AEW MVPs through their 5 years

Jimmy Jacobs is gone from AEW. Would be interesting if TK can actually "freshen up" the creative, as was reported on the WON website.

Some of it will most probably be invested back in the company. AEW clearly needs a better office - it's (literal) booking of talent, arenas, it's merchandise department etc all range from chaotic to downright terrible. The infrastructure will have to be strengthened. I can't imagine any changes in the creative team though - it seems there are quite enough of them, even though it's not working well. Plus paying their existing wrestlers more money, perhaps bringing pyro back every week, especially if they want to impress Fox, since those negotiations are still ongoing

This has not been confirmed in the Variety article or any official press releases, but Meltzer did a show and he said he believes they will be, and he has generally been accurate about this story, so I believe his belief.
  12. MoS replied to sek69's topic in AEW
Variety has updated their article to say the deal is valued at $185 million per year, in line with what Meltzer and Sean Ross Sapp have reported

https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/aew-stream-on-max-rights-deal-warner-bros-discovery-1236166277/ "Upwards of $150 million" a year. AEW TBS/TNT shows will also air live on Max. Importantly, while the PPVs will be available on Max "later" at a "discounted" price, they will air live at normal prices, so that's another mode of income. Plus, there is still potential for "new AEW programming on linear and digital platforms" and Fox and TK are still negotiating. I can't describe it as anything other than a massive Kieron Pollard six out of the ground. Tremendous news for AEW.
  14. That last line is such a non-sequitor lol
  15. MoS replied to sek69's topic in AEW
It's going to be a massive deal and the usual suspects will be tripping over themselves to explain how it is bad axshually
  16. I wouldn't have Swerve and Page get back to their feud just yet. I would let that simmer on the backburner. They have done pretty much everything two feuding wrestlers can do this year.
  17. Agreed on all counts. Mox is doing some of his best work in years. He has always been a tremendous promo, but with good material, he transcends greatness
  18. MoS replied to MoS's topic in AEW
Young Bucks and Jericho shit aside, AEW's 2024 has been excellent. Incredible badass world champs like Soma Joe and Swerve Strickland, Hangman (literally) setting the house on fire, the GOAT doing GOAT things, the rise of Ospreay, Mariah and Willow, some excellent, heated angles, hate-filled matches, a tremendous year so far
  19. MoS replied to MoS's topic in AEW
I don't usually like too much talking in matches but I still loved that match
  20. MoS replied to MoS's topic in AEW
    Loving the match so far

Swerve looking like an absolute badass
  22. MoS replied to MoS's topic in AEW
Incredible post-match angle. Yuta crying was the highlight
  23. MoS replied to MoS's topic in AEW
That was a masterpiece of a performance by the GOAT
  24. MoS replied to MoS's topic in AEW
Fantastic match. Both WIllow and Stat are stars

If you are going to have a spectacular move-fest, I would rather you don't waste 5 mins in the middle working on the neck like you're going to cripple the guy
