AEW Dynamite 1st TBS episode - January 5, 2022
It is literally the one big knock against Punk, that led him to quit wrestling for 7 years. It's not bush league, it is the absolute perfect way to get under his skin in kayfabe. Everything about CM Punk's edge comes from that failure. And it threw Punk off for a bit, so it worked in kayfabe too

It will probably lead to a match for Dean against Punk. EDIT - Also this is a cool trivia for "first DQ finish in AEW history"

It was the only lariat he actually hit in the match, I have no idea why he was grumpy. But he just beat cancer he is allowed to be grumpy

I might be in the minority here but I actually liked this better than the first match, and it's my favourite Danielson match so far in his AEW run

AEW Dynamite 1st TBS episode - January 5, 2022
This is my favorite kind of wrestling sequel. Instead of trying to do a bigger better bader version of the first match, go for a classic in another direction instead. Make it more intense and smashmouth, for starters.

Maybe it will be Mistico and he will again be very confused and annoyed when people are underwhelmed

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Clearly a fan of AEW referees' lax attitude wrt rules. Pro wrestling has wimpy rules where you can't even hit each other in the nuts without the referee calling for the bell. Meanwhile, in cricket, the chad King of sports:

The TBS era begins! How long do we think Hangman-Danielson 2 goes? I am thinking 45 minutes

Mox is great but why the fuck would you ever use Terry Funk as a cautionary example lol. Also, Hunter sure loves his Simpsons references doesn't he

They made Regal speak in a posh accent that, if anyone actually spoke that way from where Regal is from, they would get mugged and would be found outside a pub the next morning

WWE DAY ONE
In hindsight, it really feels like his title win was a last-minute reaction to Dynamite beating Raw in the key demo. They weren't ever planning on actually elevating him to that level. Lashley v. Lesnar should be great though, that match has been on fans' fantasy-booking list since what, 2006? Genuinely feels like a big match-up.

Their solution to this was to no longer require covid testing; essentially, to just bury their heads in sand. It cannot be stressed enough just how irresponsible this behaviour was.

WWE DAY ONE
He said on Twitter that he tested positive. Thankfully, I don't want to speculate, but he is vaccinated, and Omicron is relatively mild for vaccinated people, and some experts in the field are even hypothesizing that vaccination+a mild variant like omicron will build super-immunity for future variants. I really hope that is true, and I really hope he is feeling fine. That said, let's not beat around the bush: having him do regular TV tapings (and house shows?) when cases were surging like crazy, knowing he is immuno-compromised, was wildly irresponsible. I mean, people were afraid this would happen for weeks now, including Vince and WWE management. This didn't come out of nowhere.

He is immunocompromised, this was always a bad idea
