Please give it a rest. No one was offended on Paige's behalf or implied Jericho was shooting on her. It's just a shitty thing for a babyface to say to a heel in 2021. If you as a babyface in 2021 cannot insult a female heel without talking about how big of a slut she is, then you're the problem. The crowd will pop for anything Jericho will say cuz he is a legend, but it felt completely out of place in 2021, and excusing bad content on the grounds of "They worked it out beforehand" is just weak. It wasn't funny, and it didn't even get as over with the crowd as some previous ATT segments. I know you think every reaction you don't like is just wokism running wild in modern pro wrestling, but sometimes people don't like something cuz it's just shit. If this had been a WWE segment done by someone who hasn't been an Observer source for decades, Meltzer would have been screaming all about it.

I mean, how do you see him work against your giants and your chosen main eventers in WWE and still feel that way. Vince never liked the thick powerlifters the way his dad did, so I can see him feel that way initially, but he just looked like a tank, like an absolute superstar, from the moment he made his debut.

Miro v. Danielson is going to rule so hard. I am so excited about the future of this promotion. The post Full Gear era, as you said, will have so many new stories.

Miro is SO GOOD at working with little people

Forgot how great Danielson is at commentary. Man just is great at everything in pro wrestling.

I am beginning to like this FTR character progression to being Latino Representatives and Allies in AEW They can't POSSIBLY tease Arn-Tully without giving us at least one physical exchange on PPV, right.

LOVED the MJF-Darby segment. MJF says some really corny shit but there's no denying that he is extremely talented and when he is focused, he is incredible

Needed a break on this auspicious day after that Jericho segment. The women's division is getting stronger

So over Jericho's shtick, hope he loses clean

Man, NICK JACKSON looks ten times buffer than Adam Cole. This YB-Christian/JB/Luchasaurus angle suddenly got heated out of nowhere

    Miro rules so hard

It really is incredible how much business picks up as soon as Hangman walks in. He is so clearly the next guy. Get the title on him and let him run with it

Meh. I get the most funny and clever idea behind booking this match, but there was nothing here that could not have been achieved with a face to face segment.

Starting the show now. Happy Diwali everyone! V looks a bit like Ricochet
  15. This is true and really goes to the nth, corniest extreme with the Elite, where every tag, every second glance and furtive look are sometimes treated by their biggest fans as clever layered storytelling. It's an idea that probably really started becoming prevalent with the RoH DVD era, as pointed out.
  16. A very happy Diwali in advance to all of you!
  17. Of course no fighting here, we all love shooting the shit about wrestling! I believe Mick Foley has said that he would put extra effort into those IWA matches he knew were going to be taped and watched by fans worldwide. Part of that was just professional prudence - it's just a good career move. But he has always talked about what he wants fans to like and appreciate when they watch his matches on tape. I see the point about the match not being good with retrospective viewing if the live crowd shat on it. In fairness, the clash often occurs due to the corollary: can a match - and wrestlers - that got over massively with the live crowd be retrospectively viewed as bad?
  18. Younger fans will never experience the absurd hilarity I experienced when I found out as a kid that the best wrestling program on Earth was getting pre-empted in America for a fucking dog show
  19. Because we are no longer in 1981, a wrestling match isn't worked *only* for the live audience, it is also worked for fans watching on DVD, on streaming, much later in time. Dave doesn't revisit matches or his ratings because he sees no value in it; it's all about what worked in the moment. That is his philosophy, and it's not the only valid one on this topic. It's a philosophical stance that has brought him in conflict with members of this board in the past too.

Yeah, as someone who does enjoy alcohol and once even drunkposted here, alcohol addiction is no joke, and excess alcohol is so terrible for you. It really is incredible how weed got the devil's lettuce reputation, when excessive alcohol fits that far better. If he deduced he has a problem at an early stage, then it's for the best for everyone involved. It's also probably for the best that he doesn't start playing his new heel character while having a drinking problem.

Best of luck to Mox. When he returns, hopefully he feels clean and cured, and gives us the best run of his life.
  22. There actually are some bad faith losers who are trying to portray this as Meltzer being some salty loser, when it is obvious to anyone who listens that a) Dave is not salty in the slightest; and b) this is like the dorkiest, funniest Meltzer-related thing in forever, in a wholesome manner. I am dying at him stubbornly sticking to his philosophy that a match is supposed to be worked for the live audience at at that particular time and place, and not to be watched later on tape. If that costume died in front of the crowd at that Halloween party, it can't be more than 2 stars no matter how much its pictures pop people on the internet, damn it.
  23. Would anyone be excited at the prospect of watching and discussing Bianca fail to cross the line and win the big one yet another time? How are the "wait and watch it play out, haters" crowd justifying her latest loss?
  24. MoS replied to MoS's topic in AEW
Wow these girls are killing themselves in what I honestly thought was going to be a comedy match. That table just would NOT break, would it.
