I think they might have some kind of a six man involving Tully

AEW Dynamite - Sept 15 2021
I like how Punk is like I have to prove myself before I face the top guys and Danielson is like these guys need to prove themselves against me. Punk says he wants to help the younger guys, Dragon says he wants to kick their heads in.

Did Bret ever try to exhaustively explain the difference between a sharpshooter and a Scorpion Death Lock

He is a tremendous heel performer, he just needs to not be booked in a shit angle

AEW Dynamite - Sept 15 2021
Complaints about 2-count jokes?? Mentions of shootfights?? Russo-esque worked bullshit, my least favourite thing in wrestling? And then add lame homophobic jokes to a worked shoot angle? This was a terrible, terrible segment. End this shit quickly.

He said Bucks used their influence to drag Cole out of developmental. And that since Cole is used to losing the Wednesday Night Wars, he might as well eat another loss next Wednesday.

How many arenas has Cody been booed in now? On his triumphant return too. You can bet NYC is going to boo his ass next week

Okay I loved that Pillman Jr. promo but shouldn't that have aired before he interrupted MJF and got some heat?
-
AEW Dynamite - Sept 15 2021
Yeah doing the same shtick two weeks in a row is way overkill for me. At least this time Pillman actually picked a fight with Wardlow unlike last week though

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
lol in what universe are Road Dogg and Johnny Ace executive material but not Mark Henry, a guy who has always had a rep of being smart and sensitive, really. A universe in which we still make a lot of pre-conceived notions about some people while celebrating Black History Month I guess.

The fact that Big E got over far beyond his level of push is a clear sign how special he is. New Day were not supposed to get this over - and it's not just with kids, they are generally beloved. Hell, even during their most pushed days, they would basically put over the Usos in all the big matches. But he managed to get over and remain over for all these years despite WWE never showing the sign that they were going to elevate him. Compare him to Dolph, whom the promotion at least pushed close to the main event for a few minutes. Ziggler didn't remain half as over for half as long as Big E has. If we keep comparing him to Cage, then I would argue that Cage has been less over than his push in AEW, a total reverse of Big E. He's received far more booking support than Big E has and yet he doesn't really feel like much of a big deal imo. He did a lot of goofy stuff to keep getting TV time, but unlike a lot of undercard/midcard comedy acts, his matches and his occasional fired promos would give enough indication that this is a dangerous motherfucker who can snap and kill anyone on the roster so you better not fuck with him. Of course whether that is utilized well is a matter of booking and how they follow up on the reign, but he obviously has the potential and the charisma that has kept him good and credible enough to immediately feel at home in that slot. Look at how massive that final quarter did compared to the rest of the show, as opposed to the usual trend of the 3rd hour having a sharp dropoff. I think it's very hard to say that there are very many people on the roster who have the kind of goodwill and pent up desire to see in the main event, who could have pulled a similar number. All this on the basis of a tweet he sent a few hours before the show.

That Rock-Cena WM buildup video from way back had Big E benching 575 pounds in Cena's gym, which puts him in elite category. Not enough to medal in world comps or anything, but extremely impressive. He is crazy strong. He isn't very tall, but he is wide and broad and thick, and looks tremendous.

He's not close to being as naturally big as Big E. There's no way his cartoonishly enhanced physique survives the wellness policy. They do look the other way if you have other qualities they like - Jinder they want to use for the Indian market for instance- but I don't think they do so for him. That said, however, I do agree that his best bet probably is a short one or two year run with the Fed. He'll be fresh there, and he can have good matches with Roman, Big E, etc before being cycled out.

AEW All Out 2021 - September 5, 2021
I don't believe it's the threshold even for MMA anymore. I think 145k-150k is the breakeven. I believe for UFC, because they are protected by the ESPN deal, if they get <145k, they get a flat fee from ESPN, while anything above that, they can pocket the residues from the revenue.
