I think this clip does a good job of showing the spot in the context of the match itself, although there might be any additional context about the rivalry that I don't know of.

I don't know how long and when the games aired, so I can't answer that. WWE's business right now is definitely the hottest it has been since 2019, well before the pandemic, so that is definitely impressive. I just hope they don't use this to try and cheapen Roman's reign by giving Cena a couple of weeks with the belt, before Roman takes it back (at the MSG SD for instance) to pop a rating. The only reason I even think this is a possibility is because Cena has been at Title Number 16 for five years now, and with Flair having been recently released, it wouldn't surprise me if the ultimate company ace breaks his decades old record. I definitely don't think they should do this though. That would be very short-sighted. Said it before, but when Roman finally gets beaten clean in singles, it should be to a fresh main event face like Big E.

Those great numbers are because Smackdown is on network TV and Fox got pre-empted by a lot of local channels showing the pre-season NFL games. The real number will come out later next week after taking pre-emptions into account. This is nothing new, the same used to happen in the late 90s and early 00s, the last time SD was on broadcast and not cable, and would get pre-empted locally in many markets for special sports or news items. The rolling 4-week average is a much better way to gauge how the show is doing. The numbers show that it is doing much better than the last few months of the thunderdome era, but not as good as it was doing late last year. Where Cena has made a huge turnaround is in ticket sales. Tickets were not moving at all before he returned at MitB and after his comeback, the box office has been up and running massively, in some places selling double the tickets they had sold prior to his return.

I honestly think they were trying to sell the shock of her appearance having totally changed. Which does make sense, because when she appeared, my first thought was "Fuck, THEY GOT BECKY?!?!"

I really hate feuds built on SHOOT~!! comments and feuds. Hated it when Moxley and MJF did it last year and I hated it when Cena and Roman did it the first time they feuded. It doesn't make anyone look good. You have two stars who are cool and badass, why not just build on that instead of both reminding viewers how the other has failed and sucks
